Hey Patrons! Thank you so much for making our first week of Patreon unbelievably special! Just a reminder that early releases will start in August - this week's episode will come out on Wednesday as usual. It's our season 2 DnDnDnD Discussion episode and we hope you have as much fun listening as we did recording it!

We're still brainstorming some fun things to bridge the couple weeks between season 2 and season 3, but when we finally nail something down, you guys will be the first to know!

In the meantime, here's some more of my notes from the wayback machine. The original sketch for Borzt Skepp, Half-Orc blacksmith!

Borzt Skepp

  • Who is the character?
    • Borzt is a blacksmith and merchant with a shop in the Oakshield district. His work is among the best in the city. Oh, and he just happens to be a half-orc.
  • What is his/her motivation?
    • Provide quality service for a fair price.
  • How do they carry it out?
    • Borzt’s great strength gives him an advantage working with metals, especially extremely hard metals. He’s also able to withstand working much longer and faster than other smiths. His respect and dedication to the craft has turned him into an artist, while his outsider status has made his shop a safe place for other craftsmen who may be considered… different. Wendle, the artificer, is dragonborn of Black Dragon blood, and his demonic looking face hides an exceedingly friendly personality. When the PCs see Wendle, with his horns and deep, sunken eyes that glow a pale green, and acidic breath that emits from the corners of his jagged, reptilian mouth - they must make a charisma save of DC 10 or be fearful of his presence. The ‘prentice smiths are a set of horribly disfigured gnomes, brothers named Dirk and Kirk.

Borzt notices the scythe, and asks to inspect it further. He’s very intrigued by it, and offers to buy it after getting a second opinion from Wendle. If the PCs/PC in possession of the Scythe don’t sell, Borzt offers to refurbish the weapon for a price and the opportunity to work with such an item. He and Wendle restore the “Scythe of the Times” - Once per day, this scythe (+1 to hit, 1d8 slashing or 1d10 slashing with two hands) can create a temporal bubble after missing its target that gives the wielder another chance to strike true.
