I'm going to do some rendering to make the angles on the wood look more 3D-ified, but this is where I'm leaning for the logo.

Ye Olde Phart

After looking at it for a bit I finally figured out how it's oriented :) At first it really irked me that there is no (or almost no) depth visible on the leftmost vertical stroke of the M. The Y at the left shows nicely how thick the material is, but the M loses most of that impression, the small sections on the serifs of the M were not enough of a hint for my brain. :) My first thought was that the curvature isn't symmetric, it seemed as if the letters MER form a plane and only the right half bends a bit backwards (mostly supported by the nice left side of the Y showing that there is a certain depth to the material). Looking forward to see a "more 3D-ified" version. I'm curious how it will change the impression. The longer I look at it, the more it seems to me as if the Y is carved from a thicker piece of wood than the letters on the left side... NB: I didn't mean to complain or criticize, I was just a bit baffled when my brain went "does not compute". :) Oh, and happy Easter (if applicable)!

The way I placed it, isn't with the black text directly in the center or anything like that. I wanted there to be some of the letters that have more depth than others.

Updated. Depending on the cover's lighting, the level of reflected light might be toned down.
