Her magic works fine when there's no real consequences? Sounds like if the situation doesn't give her any emotional stress or perosnal conflict the magic works fine. That's not actually a writing cop-out it makes sense If anything it shows that Glenda is an emotional person.

I'm glad you caught on to that... I've mentioned that witch magic is tied to emotions before and that's really the heart of what I was saying but I guess I said it in a more self deprecating manner.
