Completely agree for the mp3 playlist vs a mix tape / cd, but I did find a (ish) solution. I once put each song a playlist in a separate password protected zip file with just a number as the name, and I would send her a password once per week. Worked pretty well, I married her! But still not the same...

I did that once in high school. I made an mp3 playlist but I deleted all of the metadata. They were named numbers or letters or something. The I recorded myself introducing the songs and put those in the playlist. Lot of work, but I thought it was cool at the time. -Tab
