New town updates abound! Check out the bank and the brothel. Full changelog:

Version: 0.1.21.1 New features:

- Debt and prostitution implemented

- Time now passes and the world map displays accordingly

- Now displays the base stats and modifiers in stat checks

- Can now use the arrow keys to select different options in encounter branches

- Options that cannot be selected are grayed out

- including stat-based options (like in the Goblin encounter)

- Swallowing cum now feeds you a bit


New content:

- Basic Bank and Brothel (BBB) encounters in town

- At the bank you can borrow money, but you'll be charged interest per day

- right now the bank can't come to collect the interest, but they will soon!

- At the brothel you can sign up to be one of the working girls - just don't overdo it!

- Added "+1" superior weapons in skirmish mode

- Item are now retrievable from certain events - including slime and a spider (items?!)

- defeating the Spider encounter bestows a powerful weapon

Tweaks and bug fixes:

- Fixed issue with enemies not cumming ever in certain stances because their lust doesn't build

- Can no longer violate the unicorn (you monster)

- Choice options that cannot be selected are now properly greyed out and cannot be selected

- Fixed an issue where black boxes appeared instead of certain graphics

- Character portrait no longer persists between encounters

My biggest gripe with this game so far is the fact that encounters are one time only with no chance of them ever recurring on a map you've visited. Plus there are too few opportunities to actually earn money, or food to make it practical to explore. So that basically means unless you know the entire map ahead of time you're going to deadend yourself in this version before you even make it north. The brothel option wouldn't work for me and I couldn't use the limited use inn option either. The balance is set way beyond roguelike. Rogue-likes at least allow you to restart with some boon from your previous run that helps you do a little better next time. This is just a straight up game over. I can't even make it to the far north without hunger killing me off. You don't allow the inventory to store food so you can't take it with you for travel rations either. There really needs to be more methods of gaining food for this game to really work out and be fun. It has potential but the food kill thing really ruins the drive to progress. Why restart when its just set to be super hard to make it up to that so-called drider encounter? That's just my thoughts on the nature of the game. It needs some serious balancing to make it more playable and not just something for a 15 minute run at tops. There's way too many bad end gameover traps in this game considering its basically set up so you lose hard very quickly. The combat isn't bad for the encounters I can make it up to. Also levelups don't boost stats at all. I'd rather have some foraging skill or some means of maybe getting random encounters. The backtracking to that town at the base will kill you too if you wind up running out of food. You can't track the hunger stat either sooo you can't predict when you need to run back to town. It needs a lot of work before I'll play another release at this time.

A lot of this changing very quickly in the next update - more food and money opportunities, easier to explore, faster to explore. The brothel requires the catamite perk to sign up - to use the limited-use Inn, you have to be below 10 gold. We will have post-run bonuses in time that will help subsequent runs; that's not a feature of all rogueli(t/k)es though. Also while you can't store all food in the inventory (you can now with a few new items), there's really no reason not to immediately use the food items you have - currently your "food stores" and "hunger meter" are the same thing - a single numeral that you can see at the bottom of the map screen (and in your character screen.) There is currently no Drider encounter - only a spider girl encounter (Drider was added to the votes after the first spider won and people preferred the bipedal option to the drider option). Level ups don't do much right now, but they do give skill and perk points - skill points to improve your skills, and perk points do let you raise your stats (there are perks for each of Strength, Endurance, and Agility). Basically, we're not doing any major balancing right now because there's still a lot of systems that need to be built out - the game isn't really intended to be in a fully playable state start to finish (there is no end goal currently, for instance). We're adding random encounters (of a sort) and foraging in the next update as well. The hunger stat is currently the number in the bottom left - it's getting a bunch of changes in the next update, but in the currently available version, it goes down by 4 per movement.
