For Ronin, according to an interview with the show writers,, basically when the season was being written, LEGO basically called them told and said "Hey, we're creating this character for a video game and want to make figures him, so put him in the show to promote him more." But the writers weren't involved at all in the game, so they didn't know and weren't given the details of the game's plot, so there's inconsistencies right away like Nya asking who he is despite being in the game's story.
