J.P. lives with his mother and sister. His sister's the nurse, and while I'm sure her hours are long and subject to change, it seems she generally works nights and evenings, probably so she can watch J.P. when he's not at the creek. I don't think we've met MRS. Mercer this season, but J.P. talks about her fairly often, and always in the present tense. I guess she just tends to come home late. Mr. Mercer, I don't think we've seen or heard anything about yet. "Kit" is the Trading Tree girl, though I think the graded homework assignment she "trades" to her grandma for popsicles is signed "Kitherine".
