5:35 I think the problem with this scene is that, however it's working for everyone else, Vision DOESN'T (exactly) know he's just an actor. He's seen the faults in the fine detail work as early as the '50s pilot, and he accidentally stumbled onto a MAJOR out-of-character moment in the '70s, which I think jarred him a little out of his proper place in Westview's sitcom "machine", but he still GENUINELY BELIEVES he's America's favorite robot dad, living an idyllic, at worst comedically dysfunctional, life in the suburbs with his funny magic wife and two lovely children. Now that he's been "jarred loose" though, that genuine belief occasionally means he can be TOO IN-CHARACTER to properly follow the script. Take this scene, for instance: I'm no screenwriter, but as someone who's watched a lot of TV from a lot of different eras, the way I think this scene SHOULD go is: "Auntie Agnes is here", yadda, yadda, yadda, "Oh Agnes, you're a lifesaver!", blah blah blah, Vision does a bit of overprotective new dad stuff, pause for laughter, Agnes steps over, picks up a baby, and we get a few more jokes. Instead, though, Vision actually IS a bit overprotective. His panicky rambling goes too long and he LEAVES HIS MARK and gets in Agnes' way, causing the whole "shoot" to grind to an awkward halt as the laugh tracks laugh at nothing and we discuss where to restart the scene from.
