So Marceline is awesome, but there were a couple of her episodes just felt like "here's another vampire, let's eat it." But when the episodes did focus on Marceline it was good. The island story didn't resonate with me much. I think it would've been better if the bits of plot were spaced out over the series like other plotlines have been, because it felt a little forced. I know it's supposed to be a big deal that there are other humans found, but I really don't care all that much. Finn already has a family. I'm not sure if this one was objectively better than Marceline's or if it just felt like I was having more fun because your fun was contagious. I'm not LSP's biggest fan, so I kinda wish that her screentime was given to other characters I like better (like Flame Princess) but I kinda get how she got to be the solution. Also, the island one and this one both seem to have moved the overall show along? Marceline's was mostly for her and Bubblegum's character development, and while Bubblegum is acting differently that was kinda set into motion before those episodes. And since Marceline's vampirism wasn't actually cured, everything kinda just went back to normal. Whereas with the island one, even though nothing has happened yet (not surprising since we jumped straight into this) there's now other people could show up during the remainder of the show. And this episode just set up Betty being on mars, and potentially Ice King's crown has changed? By that I mean when the jewel popped out, he bent down, and put it back in. But, we didn't see that he picked up the same one that popped out. And Flame Princess's jewel is a similar colour/shape to the jewels in his crown. So I think it's quite possible that he's got a fire gem in there, and Flame Princess has his ice gem. That's going to be interesting, assuming I'm not wrong. So, overall, I think I like this one best, Marceline's middle, and islands worst.
