Compatibiliy investigation + Info on Module 10's upcoming parts (Patreon)

Hello everyone and happy October!
COMPATIBILITY INVESTIGATION: Per a few users' reports, it would SEEM that the latest update of Turbodriver's mod Wonderful Whims possibly may bring some breaks in compatibility between itself and the Risk & Protection module of WooHoo/Relationship Wellness & Pregnancy Overhaul. I would like to hear from you if you have noticed any weirdness-es popping up re. pregnancy risk and / or notifications of birth control (weirdness-es that weren't there before last month) so thatTurbo & I can look at things.
And if you are using Turbo's mods with mine and are noticing some oddities you can remove my risk & protection module for now if you want.
INFO ON MODULE 10:
Since I'm here I figured I'd drop a few notes about module 10's upcoming stuff regarding PERMANENT SEPARATION PROCEDURES. The point being to give you an idea of it and room for feedback.
- Note: One of the Sims needs to move out before they can start the procedures.
- If Sims separated amicably, they can decide who gets custody of whom (so the player decides on a child by child basis).
- Sims can get a lawyer: either go with free representation or go for one of 3 levels of price ranges to get better representation.
- If Sims separate permanently in a non-amicable way, one of them can demand custody if they want - if the other parent has a bad relationship with the children or other reasons, they might accept - but most often, court will decide. Once again the goal is to have it on a child by child basis. This makes things a bit more complicated / long to make but I think it is worth it. It is possible that all the children be assigned to one parent but it is possible it not be the case, as the scoring can change once one child gets assigned to a parent. By the end of the court appointment, Sims will know what child goes with whom. The household change should happen automatically as well.
Scoring is based on lawyer, relationship with the child, job and money, household, traits that indicate a good proclivity towards parenthood or lack thereof, etc.
- For the matter of money - court can adjust funds between divorced Sims, and this will be in a way similar to how the 'look for biological parents' thing works in the adoption module.
- Visiting rights and visiting other parent: for this, I am doing household changes - and NO you won't see any household management screen at all of course, it's automatic - this means the child will leave the household to join that of the other parent, then rejoin the original household when the visit is over. I don't love using household change but it will be so at least at first, as it has undeniable advantages such as, if you play the other parent you'll get to interact with the visiting child etc.
So if you send a child to stay a week-end with their other parent, they'll go and not appear in your household for the duration of the visit, and be in the other parent's household instead. You can choose to send them for one, two or three days. Want more options?
- I am also making it so pets can be send or requested to visit because all pet owners here will agree I imagine that pets matter too and losing your best buddy dog or cat to a divorce is a sad thing.
- In terms of child support, it is entirely based on my own system and not on the family tree or any such, so it doesn't ask for money for surrogate kids etc. Child support applies only if a Sim has custody of all the children of the couple at the moment, because if they each have one of the children, then I'm not sure it's fair to ask for money. But I may make it depend on pay etc, not sure yet how absurdly complicated or realistic or not this should be. Your feedback very welcome.
- I have not yet started code for the 'co parenting' random happenings in which parents need to agree about something or suddenly out of the blue watch their kid because their ex has to unexpectedly work etc - but these things have been written out a good while ago and aren't as tricky to make as the rest so they will likely be made last.
That's it for the random notes. Once things are in place I'll do a screenshot / video post - and then a post for requests for our higher tier patrons who have been very patient waiting for it for this module, thank you!
Can't wait to be done with Module 10 and move forward with other parts of the mod as well as working on global improvements for v3 - but:
OTHER NOTE: If you are wondering - yes I am still working slowly, after 2 months of wearing a cast and it not really helping with pain levels or seeming to heal anything, now I'm waiting for another doctor appointment and trying to spare my hands all the while progressing. Not super easy or great but it is what it is. I must still ask for your patience because these conditions aren't ideal. Thanks for sticking around.
