Preview of upcoming mod - still on the theme of Romance (Patreon)

Hello dear subscribers,
Today's message is to introduce the new upcoming mini-mod and give you a chance to make feature requests!
 
As you may have guessed from the image, the new mod is called "No Strings Attached". It is not going to be a huge mod, but is an independent thing still. You may want to call it an add-on to Road to Romance because 'Road to Romance' mod focuses on the Sims' development of long-term, loving relationships. Some may find there is a gap there for less traditional types of relations. So, I am filling that gap here. 

Features:
- New relationship status, "Friends with Benefits", with three levels, depending on how well this relationship / arrangement goes and develops. Sims who have struck a "Friends with Benefits" arrangement will not earn any romance points together no matter what they do. They will not either feel jealous if they witness the other interacting romantically with someone else. Sims whose romanceless relationship has developed far enough may start getting confused about what they want out of this, experiencing such moodlets, and will be able to ask the other to transition into being a real couple and being exclusive.

- A dedicated pie menu with various equivalents of romantic interactions, except they do not give or require any Romance; instead, they grant points towards the friends with benefits" relationship itself. Here is my current choice for the icon that shows when an interaction grants such points, it's a merge of friendship and romance, in the color tones of the WooHoo icon:

These interactions will also grant different moodlets from the games. The interactions in that menu are as of now, "Intense Kiss", "Flirty Line", "Make Out", several "Offer to Woohoo" (with as options, in bed, in the shower, in the hot tub). There will be a bunch more. Only Sims who are friends with benefits will have access to this. These interactions will work well with RtR too of course, and grant Romance skill, in case users have both mods installed. 
- The "Friends with Benefits" relationship cannot be impacted negatively by failed interactions except for one or two very specific interactions (but friendship can of course); it will however diminish with time. So, if your Sim doesn't see their romanceless partner for a while, they will be much less likely to end up at the point where they'll want to and be able to ask to become a couple.

- There will be some new universal interactions as well.

- Edit: I may get a little crazier and make an optional birth control / protection / chance of pregnancy system to go with this, all of that for our Sims involved with friends with benefits. It's all planned out in my head, so I'll probably do it.
Question is: would you be interested in something similar for the game in general? Aka if normal woohoo is selected and no protection is available, there'll be a chance of pregnancy, even though it's not 'try for baby'? I'm sure WW has something similar, but if that's the only mod that has it, because of the nature of that mod, there may be a use to having a similar thing in a slightly more PG mod. 😂

This is more or less it for my current plan. If you want something to feature in this mod, feel free to give me a suggestion! Constructive criticism is also more than welcome!

OMG! So cool! Of course I have ideas! lol Maybe teens could have something like "practice kissing" or "allow to feel up?" (though not sure how animating that would work - perhaps make use of censor blur?) "reassure about friendship" (like a, "don't worry, this won't change a thing between us a friends" vibe) "boast about being (cool? progressive? Not sure of the right word)" "discuss (sexual) health" (under mischief: "fret about late period" - could have some cool buffs with this one) "joke about relationship incompatibility" (rabbit hole: "go out as wingman/woman", "shop for lingerie") "confess to catching feelings" "have the talk" (would either convert to standard romance or end arrangement and damage friendship or decide to keep things the same but small sad buff for initiator) Will it be possible to have this sort of relationship behind a committed partner's back so that if the partner finds out, it is considered cheating, but it's cool between the two of them? If so, "worry about partner finding out about us" (tense buff) and "accuse of being more than friends with ____" under mean for partner

Love your ideas! Some of this I thought of and a lot of it I didn't. I'm going to get that going tomorrow! Once again this will be only for adult Sims BUT when I make the teen module for road to Romance (after this basically) there will be something similar for them there. Yes married / partnered Sims can have such a relationship behind their official partner's back, and some drama is indeed in order haha. If the partner sees romance happening between them, the partner will get jealous. It's just partners within the 'friends with benefits' thing that don't get jealous of each other. Thanks again for your comment, you'll see some of your ideas in there for sure. :)

OMG, I'm a little bit speakless. You know I'm a big, big fan of you and your mods. And after reading this new mod I know it was the best idea to support you as a Patreon ;) Well, regarding your questions: I'm a user of the Wicked Whims mod. I like the features BUT only use a few of them . Mostly I like this mod because of the period/menstrual system and the feature that sims men have their "best piece" ;) Also I like WWs feature with the "Attractiveness and "Impressions" system. In my opinion the Sims 4 Game offers nice social features but nothing more. I miss (like in Sims2) the possibility that the sims have their own personality and so I tried to change this with the WW system. The reason why I mentioned WW here is to show you my thoughts about the lacks in the game. The features of your mod are fantastic and like Sheila Lobert wrotes I agree with her suggestions. Maybe you can form your mod that the romantic/sexual interactions have more depth. Many thanks for your work, Lumpinou and that you give us the chance to think about new features which you maybe can include in this mod. Lovely regards from Austria and sorry for my poor English but it's not my native language. (Google translator sucks and so I try to write it with my own words)

This looks amazing! In regards to your question, PolarBearSims has a Risky Woohoo mod on MTS and KawaiiStacie has a drunk WooHoo option in SOL. I don't think they include birth control though.

NeonOcean has a fabulous period/fertility mod with more still being added. It complements these mods well. I just wish you could woohoo in a single bed without WW!

Sounds good! So I will add something just for the friends with benefits interactions, because other mods will not apply to those woohoo interactions. :) Probably the issue there with the single bed is the animation...

Thanks ❤️ I know of those yeah, even though I haven't used them. They do just give chances of pregnancy I'm pretty sure. My idea is: chances of pregnancy if nothing is available - 0.5% chances if something is available and therefore used. It won't be graphic at all, it's just, OK you bought a box of 24 or went to the doc for a prescription, you're fine. And when you 'run out', you get notified, and you need to buy again otherwise there's a, say, 15% pregnancy chance. For prescriptions, they renew (and Sims get notified and money is taken out), until you cancel. The Sims wouldn't be physically using objects or seeing them in the inventory. Since everything remains hidden since I'm not into making anything explicit :) But with hormonal birth control they'd be moodlets, and when running out of stuff in general they could be some too, I have a few ideas haha. For sure I'm going to add some of that as an option to this No Strings Attached mod because other mods won't apply to it as it contains distinct woohoo interactions (they're almost the same as the game ones of course, the results are just different), and I don't want to add 'try for baby' and 'woohoo' as distinct things - probably almost nobody wants to try for baby with someone you're friends with benefits - and yet these pregnancies happen. Trying to stay real!

I wonder if you could use one of the flirty animations sitting on the the side of the bed then put up a censor, have them disappear into an unmade bed, and play the woohoo music (similar to what Kawaiistacie does for self woohoo in Slice of Life). Also, if we asked nicely and shared your coding, NeonOcean might add comparability to any new woohoo options you could create since their mod page does invite requests for other mods that users want to see compatibility with. That could save you some work and help promote both of ya'll's wonderful mods!
