Jessica's superhero name is "Mastermind", so I wanted to have that theme in this chapter with her.  A lot of this is about her manipulating certain things to go in the right direction.

The person in the room is obviously Evilyn, considering we already knew Mastermind was trying to deal with her.  Jessica wants answers to questions from her, so the way to make her not afraid is to pick someone she knows- and is lesser than her.  To get Annie to help her you manipulate her with a costume.  To get Annie past security, you bring her by the guy who is distracted by cleavage.
