If you like all the time-jumpy editing like in this episode and previous, then you might like the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, if you haven't seen it yet. It does a lot of the same editing techniques to tell a story. I love that you caught how there was a concept in Hill House that Flanagan is playing with here (Well, two concepts, really) the first is that ghosts in his hauntings don't experience time like living people do, and the living only see the ghosts during the time that ghosts are in the present of the living, but that ghosts aren't always necessarily people. They can be guilt (like Dani and Henry's ghosts were) or sadness, or grief, etc... oh! And I think you missed where Henry's "ghost" said that Flora did pick up the phone 1 in 10 times, so, he sometimes got to hear her voice, which is why he keeps trying. He still doesn't say anything, because he takes his banishment/punishment very seriously. I just wish he thought about how his absence affects the kids...who don't deserve the extra punishment at all.

That's always been something I've wanted to watch on the channel. It's definitely something I'll get round to. I knew that Flora had answered one time but I was confused as to why he never talked when she did but you've cleared that up for me lol I didn't think about the banishment including phone calls too.
