This is a heavy episode! Steven, at this point, probably preferred it when his mom was just, "mysterious but good and loving." Now he's constantly learning that the truth is always more complex, and almost everything he's finding out confirms that all the guilt is laid at his mothers feet. The bubbled Rose Quartz's in the zoo, all the corrupted Gems on Earth, not to mention his father's complicated grief and the Crystal Gems isolation and powerless/endless exile...it's a lot to carry around.
