Ron's jealousy over Harry ending up a Triwizard Champion is a lot better explained in the book. He is jealous partly because of what you said (that he's spent 4 years as Harry's best friend and Harry always gets all the attention), but it's also because Ron is the youngest in a house full of brothers who are all really accomplished and well-liked. He's always being out-shone and overlooked, and Harry becoming a Champion was kind of like the straw that broke the camel's back. When Hermione relayed that message, I don't think Harry was saying "What?" because he didn't understand what she said. It's because he was trying to understand the logic behind saying all those names in front of "Hagrid's looking for you." He was still stuck on the "Dean was told by Pavati,,," stuff. It's like that thing when people say a lot of words at once and you end up trying to follow the whole sequence so hard that you miss the point. It's not an indication of stupidity, but just how the brain sometimes gets jammed up on certain things. As to the kid who was next to Sheamus (sorry if the spelling is wrong) Finnigan, his name is supposed to be Dean Thomas. As to the creatures you asked about, the ones who were pulling Harry down, they are called Grindylows (again, spelling is probably wrong). No, Harry didn't have to save Gabrielle (Fleur's sister) along with Ron, but it was supposed to be one of those things where he reacted in the moment. In the book, the underwater part is a lot scarier, and they seem to be in a lot more danger, so Harry would have been too worried for her to consider that she probably would have been retrieved after the task. It has been made clear that people can be harmed or even die during the tasks, so that would have been forefront in Harry's mind. Yeah, Voldemort should have said "Especially your filthy Muggle-born mother." Was that a mistake, or am I missing something? Someone feel free to educate me. Cedric's father's wails of grief and misery are absolutely gut-wrenching. I agree, the acting there is incredible. These reactions are wonderful, JS, and I can't wait to watch the next one with you. Thanks for giving them a chance and letting us share them with you.

Hot damn that's some good reading, thank you. I'm so glad I get to share them :)

I think Voldemort said what he meant. It was a slur, not a slip, I mean. Harry is often called a "half-blood" in the books/movies by the baddies, even though his parents were witch/wizard. In his mother's case, I think it's a bigoted rejection of her lineage (keeping her "out of the club") rather than a serious accusation of being a muggle. Like...she's no better than a muggle because that's where she came from. My opinion, anyway!
