It's been a rough week, a really rough week. We had to "say goodbye" to our awesome cat last night — medicine and treatments could not keep up with his condition. We had to ease his suffering. (I had mentioned his ailment here back in an August post.) (In true 2020 fashion, it was even harder as this is the second time in 7 months we had to do this, saying goodbye to our other cat at the beginning of Covid.)

Then today, one of my best friends (my best man) had to undergo emergency heart surgery. (Still waiting to hear the outcome). It was a total blind-sided event as he is quite fit and only about 50. I've known him since the very beginning of elementary school.

On the better side, tomorrow and Friday we will be celebrating "Thanksgiving" holiday here in the U.S. and will be with some family (very small gatherings during Covid).

Add to all these delays, all 3 Commissions required some extra work between the winners and me to come up with the final concept.

I have completed the Color Commission earlier today (enjoying the distraction from "real life"), including all aspects of the project — WIPs, PSD file, and Speed Process Video. These will be posting on this schedule (all times EST or UTC -5):

• WIPs:   Wed., Nov 25,  5pm
• Low and High-res Finals:  Thu., Nov 26, 9:00-9:01am
• Speed Process Video:  Fri., Nov 27, 9am
• PSD file:  Fri., Nov 27, 5pm

These posts are automatically scheduled to post, as I won't be around.

The Black-and-White and Sketch Commissions (and accompanying items) will be worked on Monday (and on Sat and Sun if I can take some time). If I don't finish these by the end of the month (which I always try to do, unlike a few other Patron pages), they will be the first items to appear in December. If you have ended your Patronage at the end of November, I will try to email you the missed Patron Awards. (Email me at ba@bustartist.com if you don't hear from me after the first week of December.)

There will be no grOw/cinema previews this week as NO work has been done on the next issue at all this week. I am focusing my time and effort on completing my Patreon work.

Thank you for your understanding.  You supporters are great and allow me a greater safety net between grOw releases.

That New Shoe Smell

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your cat and the blindside with your friend. I'm glad that your cat is no longer suffering, though it had to have been hard to make that call. I also hope that your friend's condition improves, heart problems are no joke. Take all the time you need on the commission; what you've got going on now takes precedence.

I'm so sorry about your loss and the challenging moments with your friend's heart surgery. I hope you get the time and rest you need for all of these hardships.

Just Another Patron

I'm sorry for the loss of your cat, as well as the news regarding your dear friend. I hope your rest and family time will help you with the emotional pain during these troubling times. I'm perfectly okay with waiting, these breaks and delays wont change my opinion that you are my favorite artist.

Sorry to hear about all of that. This year has already put everyone through the wringer, and so close to the holidays too. Take your time, and we're all hoping for the best for you.

Sorry to hear that. Life stuff is more important so don’t worry about us. Take as much time as you need.

Thanks for your thoughts. My friend is recovering, but it's a slow process.

Thank you for your comment. The harder part is not seeing a favorite toy (which is difficult, no doubt), it's the habits or ingrained routines that are no longer there — getting up to feed; reaching down to pet him while my wife and I are at the table, etc.

Thank you for your comment. It's been a heavy few days, but it's time to return to things as much as possible. :-)
