Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction/review of episodes 7 and 8 of V4 of RWBY!  Omg!!!  So much new info in these eps!  I feel so bad for Oscar, yet also want Ozpin to make his way back into the story at the same time!  I am SO not down with Weiss' dad, just who the heck does he think he is?!  You can't imprison your daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!  >:(  And to disinherit her, when she's been working so hard to try and restore the family company's good name...!!
So much info from Qrow in the second ep, i.e. the two entities who created everything, the relics, etc.!  Do the four relics have to do with the four maidens?!  Is Salem the first Grimm??
Also, speaking of Qrow....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he'd better be alright you guys, I'm serious!!!!!!!!!!  Great eps!  Cannot wait to see more!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Good morning Hime! You've now been officially introduced to the Schnee family. Jacque Ass and Shitley. Yeah This is the moment Weiss became everyone's princess that must be protected. Also Klein doesn't actually become different people it's basically just emotional changes but he always does whats best for Weiss. The song that plays during the Qrow and Tyrian fight is Qrow's theme titled "Bad Luck Charm" I cant wait for you to hear the full version it's amazing. So now that you know Qrow's semblance you can think back to moments he was in before. When he was first introduced in a bar in Vale the barkeep "accidently" dropped a glass. Ironwood just happened to show up during his fight with Winter. Ruby and Yang couldn't beat him at the video game. And when he was leaving the campfire a log fell out. Its not something he can direct at others its kind of like a bad luck field thats always around him. It's why Tyrian fell through the roof during the fight and why the board almost fell on Ruby when he had to go and block it.

My favorite thing about the Menagerie arc is that you can see that the Belladonnas are a family of cats and they have a LOT of empty bird cages around their house. But seriously I love the Blake reconnecting with her dad stuff. With Qrow's semblance, the fun part is on rewatch you can see the small bits of unluck that happens around him.

Pyrrha mentioned the Tale of the Two Brothers in V3 when Oz asked her about her favorite fairy tales. I'm so glad you recognized the song in that scene where Ghira and Blake talk, it's indeed All Our Days, the parent/child song from Volume 2. Others already said everything else I wanted to point out about these episodes so let me just say again that I truly love your reactions, I look forward to them every week. It's so cool to hear what you have to say and what you think it'll happen in hindsight with everything that's going on now in V8...

I think Blakes dad is a Puma or a Panther maybe because Blakes mum mentions him pacing and I think thats what they do lol xx

Hello Hime :D For Jacques, he is the real Dad of Winter, Weiss and Whitley, but he take the name Schnee by marrying, just to take controle over the company. In the fight between Qrow and Thirian, I can't help but adore Ruby's phrase "this is my fight too" every time, Lindsay does a wonderful job doubling her. For the "what your favorite fairytale", it's a callback of Ozpin saying that to Pyrrha. One note about the Blake/Ghira talk, i alway find funny that Ghira talks about not being overly covered, when he is shirtless under his coat.

Like I said before I am very happy that your reactions are here while I continue to wait for the second part of V8 its so nostalgic for me watching rwby reactors because I see the animation back an forth an just makes me happy how far its come from just a little web show :) so happy your avoiding spoilers too thats so hard sometimes when you react to a show thats been out a while xx

Ghira is a Panther, Ghira is based on Bagheera from The Jungle Book and Sienna Khan on Sher khan. It's a really minor spoiler because it only matches their physical appearance.

Qrow vs Tyrion is still my favorite fight. There's some fantastic fights coming up, but Qrow is my favorite and Tyrion is always fun to watch.

Qrow's song "Bad luck charm" is the other big song of this volume, I'm looking forward to your OST reaction to see what you think of the lyrics. And talking about Qrow, no wonder he's always drunk having to live with a semblance like that always on. What I really like about these two chapters is the contrast between Weiss and Blake's family lives. At first glance one would think that Weiss is the luckier one coming from a famous and wealthy family until you see how dysfunctional it is, egocentric father, mom has checked out and spends all her time drunk, older sister got out of there as soon as she could and little brother being molded by father to be a mini version of himself. On the other hand, Blake never talked about her family before leading many of us to believe that she was an orphan too before volume 4 but it turns out that she has a good loving family. Just looking at both scenes with their respective fathers you can see who's really the lucky one.

What you said about caring about these characters is so true. I have never cared so much about fictional characters as I do with this bunch. Both teams RWBY, JNPR. Qrow, Penny , and Sun...I didn't realize this of course until the last few chapters of the last volume. I was so mad at this show for making me cry like I lost someone in real life when I first watched it, but I realized that what they did was actually amazing to get me so invested in this show. It wasn't something I thought would ever happen, and after watching so many reactors react to this show I still can't stop the tears . This is my favorite show ever and I think because I'm so attached to the characters.

Argh, I hate the makes a post thing. Anyway, now that you've learned about Qrow's semblance, I can talk about something that has been denied but... for me... is head canon. I believe that Tai and Ravyn are Yang's parents, but I believe that Summer Rose and QROW are Ruby's parents. I believe that "Uncle" Qrow couldn't stick around and be a father to his daughter because of his semblance. I believe that Tai is a great guy who had no problem having Summer and Ruby stay with him. Ruby looks like Summer and Qrow, has a fighting style like Qrows (while Yang's is like Tai's), but also Ruby's color scheme is almost identical to her Aunt Ravyn's. That's just my head canon. Take it or leave it.

Nice!!! I can't wait to react to the soundtrack! Seriously, poor Qrow....makes sense he has to dull the pain!!! >.< So true about Weiss and Blake! On the surface, earlier in the series, I would have guessed Blake came up by the "school of hard knocks" and Weiss was pampered. Not exactly true, especially in terms of the functionality of their respective upbringings!!! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who thought Blake was an orphan lol. Seriously, Ghira is pretty loveable anyway and next to Jacques he is a total dream comparatively!!!!!!!!!

It's nice to see a functional family even if they do have a few rough patches to iron out - the love and connection is still totally there! Good morning Zen!!! Oh lord, I am so not on board with the males in this family! I was liking Weiss a lot more, now I LOVE her! Ah okay, thanks for pointing that out about Klein. So it's not exactly multiple personalities then? I can't wait to hear the full length version of the song! Ahhhh I can't believe I never noticed Qrow's semblance now! They dropped so many hints!!! So it can't be controlled, that really stinks. If it could, that would be helpful in battle, but the fact that it's always there must have made his personal life a living hell!!! :( Thanks for the info!

What a great episode this is. I love getting a deeper look into what’s going on with Ozpin and Oscar. It's cool but unsettling to see Oscar just know things based on Oz’s memories. I think the show does a good job of conveying how unfair and rough this is on Oscar. It’s very intriguing to learn that Oz has gone through this as well wonder what that’s about. It also shows it being very invasive even if it’s not what either of them want. The Weiss stuff in this episode is great even if it’s hard to watch. I love seeing her try so hard to explain her position and stand up for herself and her choices. I actually think that physical abuse is not something Jacques ever uses considering Weiss’s reaction he instead relies on the emotional and psychological abuse. It’s upsetting but interesting to learn more about the Schnee family. And yes Jacques is the worst type of person and hatable especially because he only really cares about social standing/reputation and the business/profit side of things. It’s so sad to see so much being taken away from Weiss. Also I know people talked about this with you but I love the idea that even though he is a very unlikable character and should be called out on his actions that Whitley is a byproduct of seeing the abuse and deciding to conform rather than suffer similar abuse although in a way this type of thing could be considered abuse in some way. Weiss getting her determination back is just the best. And now on to a favorite fight of mine even if it’s not the best and there are better fights in the show. I love the sheer craziness and weirdness that oozes off of Tyrian. Also Qrow is just so cool and you being attracted to him will never not be entertaining although I can’t believe you because I can appreciate a handsome/sexy man even if I’m not interested in men. I just love how fast-paced the fight is and the strength of these 2 combatants showing even more how far these young Huntsman/Huntresses have to go. The song is great and I love that Qrow’s bad luck plays a part in the fight. Also the dynamic parts of the fight like just the movement of the characters and the part where Qrow loses his weapon and is just like “fuck it” and punches Tyrian in the face it’s both badass and hilarious. Particularly it’s awesome and heartwarming to see uncle and niece fight side-by-side. And the 1st true curse word in the show and to be fair to the insane guy part of his body was cut off. Also have to love those RWBY cliffhangers right? My thoughts on episode 8 coming in another comment.

So true about the unsettling but well-written nature of both the Oscar/Ozpin story and the Weiss story! I agree that Whitley is sadly a victim here in a way as well, and it's manifesting itself in a different way. Hahaha I'm so happy my love for my man Qrow is entertaining!!!!!!! XD The fight was amazing! Tyrian is so entertaining with his over the top creepy craziness. I loved seeing the uncle-and-niece side by side fight too!!!! Haha true, I suppose we'd all be inclined to some bad language if a body part had just been cut off :P Ahhh man the cliffhangers are killer!!! Looking forward to your feedback on ep 8!!!! ^_^

Glad you picked up on the raven in the trees when Qrow began his evening walk and didn't want to talk more. Bit of a callback but remember the raven outside Yang's window at the end of Vol.3? Then Qrow's line to Yang's mom a few chapters back: "Did you know Yang lost her arm? Rhetorical question, I know you know, it's just obnoxious that you'd bring up family then pretend like your own daughter doesn't exist...."...also go back to the Yellow Trailer....when Yang dismounts from her bike and starts walking towards Junior's nightclub, a raven takes flight....

So I noticed in the reaction you were agreeing with Qrow when he was talking to Jaune about how Pyrrha chose to become the Fall Maiden and I don't really agree with that interpretation. I believe that Ozpin knew that Pyrrha would agree to it in the end and that's the main reason he chose her. Remember when she was going up to Ozpin's office to talk about all this stuff? I remember a very peculiar line from Ozpin while Pyrrha was still in the elevator. He said "and most importantly, she's ready." The way I interpret that line is that he knew for a fact that she would agree due to the kind of person she is.

Oh I think I see what you're saying! So in other words, Oz chose her because he knew she would accept because of who she is, more or less putting the responsibility on Oz for sort of manipulating the situation, as opposed to it being purely Pyrrha's decision?? Hope I'm interpreting that correctly! I can definitely see where you're coming from. Honestly I'm not sure which it really was, or maybe a combo of both....?!
