Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction/review of episodes 7 and 8 of V3 of RWBY!  It was so cool seeing the story of how Cinder, Emerald and Mercury came together, how they first encountered the White Fang, how they fought Amber, etc.!  So Cinder is the one who has some Fall Maiden powers?!  That actually makes sense!  Also, not only did they trick the audience about what happened with Yang, but Mercury has prosthetic legs?!?!  So it never even hurt him at all!!!  I felt so bad for Pyrhha, trying to deal with this huge decision, but loved the sweet moment between her and Jaune!  Before it turned not so sweet, that is.
Also, thank GOD for Velvet mentioning Coco so that Ruby starts questioning things!  And does Mercury not know the meaning of lay low lol?!  He showed right up at the arena!!!
Can't wait to see what happens next - great eps!  ~ MH

It goes by really quickly, so I'm not surprised you missed it. "One mind I can handle, but two is a stretch" Emerald is referring to the two First Aid Medics who carried Mercury out of the arena. She used her semblance on both of them at once to make them see blood on Merc's legs, even though in reality, his legs are metal prosthetics. EDIT: Cinder's Semblance I'm blanking on at the moment. According to Google, she can superheat any object and turn it into glass weapons or objects. This includes superheating Dust and superheating something as simple as dirt into glass. The Insect thing she used to absorb the Maiden power was a white glove she put on. Presumably, this glove was given to her by a certain person. Not a semblance.

Ohhhhhh thank you for clearing that up! I was wondering who she was referring to! Makes sense knowing what we know now about Mercury's legs! And thanks for clearing that up about Cinder - I knew her semblance was heat-related, but good to know the insect was actually not related to her semblance. Thanks for all the info!

I always loved how Yang and Pyrrha, who are supposed to be the strongest, were the first two characters we saw cry in the show. Both of them in the same episode and both of them because of something their partner said. Both scenes hit really hard... The way Yang says "Blake?"; and then Jaune telling Pyrrha that she can't let anything stand in her way, when the only thing that could stand in her way is him, he's the only who could make her change her mind, so he's pretty much telling her to forget about him even if he doesn't realize it.

About Raven's message to Yang, you got it right. Raven was saying that she wouldn't step in again if Yang is in trouble. She has certain ideas about strength... Let's just say that Raven is not going to win the mother of the year award anytime soon.

Not a spoiler !! The creature Cinder used to absorb the Maiden powers was a Grimm....who knows how she got this Grimm or who she got it from 👀👀👀

I don't know if you record several episodes of RWBY in the same day, but good luck for the rest, because when you get to episode 9, it's going to be hard not to finish the series in one go.

So back in episode 4, while Mercury and Emerald were fighting Coco and Yatsuhashi, there was a song lyric that stood out to me in the middle of the fight "I'm the one / who was born into darkness, a murderer's son. / Got no gun / but I'm sharp as a blade and I'm harder than iron." I basically immediately figured out Mercury's backstory, and he became a much more interesting character to me. (That was also my epiphany that the songs MATTERED in RWBY, and I immediately went and listened to the past two soundtracks).

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate Weiss in episode 8? From the girl who thought she was too good for team-ups to IMMEDIATELY and unquestioningly supporting Yang, despite the evidence of her own eyes and the testimony of the whole world, because she so firmly trusts her teammates that she can firmly say that Yang would never lie to them. Of course Ruby backs her up - she is her sister. But Weiss's faith warms my cold little heart.

I have not loved so many kids and students since watching My Hero Academia. Velvet, Yang, Pyrrha etc. And bless Ren and Nora for a bit of good relief. I don't know where this is going but, I don't like it! That opening's ending is getting closer, I know it. 😩

I never realized that but you're right!!!!!! When Yang said Blake, I died inside a little!! And I never even thought of it that way, that Pyrhha is essentially describing Jaune changing her mind, which out of a sense of trying to support her, he accidentally shoots right down. What a show!!!!
