Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of episode 5 of Parasyte!  And here I thought the most interesting part of this ep would be the concept of Shinichi possibly transforming psychologically due to Migi....wow was I wrong!  It was cool to meet the very strange, mysterious new girl who seems to be able to sense parasites.  I don't think Shinichi is all that far gone yet though, since he was still showing altruism!  But wow....was NOT ready for those sweet moments with his mom last ep to become oh so tragic in this ep!  Why!!!  What are the odds??!?!  Also.....DID THEY JUST KILL OUR MAIN CHARACTER?!?!?  Ordinarily I'd say this won't fly....but this show might just have the nerve to do it!  Can't wait to see what happens next!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

The parasyte that killed his mom wasnt the teacher just so you know! It was just another parasyte who had taken over a woman. The teacher doesnt change her appearance if I remember correctly so she looks the same as before 😁 also this episode was what really got me hooked to the show. I remember trying to guess what could possibly happen in the next episode 😂

Ahhh okay thank you for clearing that up! They never said it, I was just wondering if they were trying to carry on that story here. Got it! Thank you! Oh man, I hear you - I think this was the one where I got way more invested as well! Thankfully I didn't have to wait long to see what happened, but if I had, I'm sure I would have been theorizing up a storm! :P

tbh when i say i wasnt looking for few next episodes i meant specially this one but that could tell you something and i didnt want to do that :DD.. yeah.. some moms just cant live happy in anime.. :// oh noo,, it was the parasite from car accident :D he relocate from woman to man thats why he had problems controling the body :D teacher had nothing to do with this :/ okay.. so.. as on the beginning when they ''hatch'' they are small they can just come inside the head but this one already grew and i think head is like they main body (like Migi as his right arm) thats why Migi wasnt sure about relocating to another body.. and exatly.. this one had main difficulties to do so.. :D

Remember what other anime killed a significant character in the fifth episode? And the mom was also murdered? And human eating monsters run amok? This is a show that has a lot in common with Attack on Titan, and at least some thematic similarities beyond some plot points. Each of the shows/manga works out its own conflicts in their own ways, and now that Attack on Titan nears its end it's fascinating to analyze both of these stories and compare and contrast whatever parallels exist. Hahaha, I saw you were having fun and enjoying the episode and we knew what was coming at the end there, I hoped coming down wouldn't be so off-putting even if it was shocking and upsetting. Shinichi being afraid of losing his humanity is now secondary to the grief of losing his mother now and then losing his life.

Poor Shinichi 🙏🏻

Ahhh okay!! Hahah it's hard to be an anime mom! >.< Got it! I had a feeling I was reading into it too much with the teacher, sorry! Thanks for clearing that up and for explaining more about how the parasites invade the host...that makes sense!

OMG!!! You know what, I was actually thinking that this was getting total AoT vibes!!! It will be really interesting to analyze them side by side in their entirety!!! Oh gawd haha, I'm sure it was interesting to watch it all hit me at the end of the ep!!! >.< Despite the grim tone, I'm definitely hooked! Poor Shinichi....that's a whole lot of grief!!!!! I'm sure it will have a big effect on him. Thanks!

I know!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O They couldn't just leave it at having the whole parasite thing going on.....they had to go and throw the whole "losing humanity" thing and also killing his mom in there! >.<
