Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of season 2, episode 6.  (NOTE: I am SO sorry for the doorbell, can't believe it happened to ring just at that spot haha, but in a way it's better I had to go back a bit because the words were just not processing in my brain at all!!!!)  I'm........I'm not even sure what to say about this one!!!  I can't believe just how casual and conversational the nature of the reveal was, and you can see that it took me a while to even PROCESS what was going on!!!!!!!!!  I thought Reiner and Bertholdt were cool guys!!!!!!  They've always been good to Eren and from the start, I felt like they were some of the few who could truly relate to him!!!  And now they're telling me THIS?!  Unbelievable...honestly I didn't even believe it until I saw it with my own eyes.  Crazy stuff!!!!!!!  It's a topsy turvy world my friends!!! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

The episode that changes everything... this show always does its reveals in a unique way. with annie it was made really obvious but they dragged the reveal out to the last second when mikasa finally calls her the female titan, and with reiner and bertolt it's casually dropped into conversation just something to note, remember last episode when ymir climbed onto the tower and told them (connie, christa aka historia, etc) to grab onto her hair, they understood her so they were speaking the same language as her, also the beast titan said he was speaking the same language as miche. like someone said in another post this was so foreshadowed haha. i'm not sure if you've gone back and looked at old clips but if you don't have the time to but want to i could send you a little compilation video of clips from s1 and s2 that shows how much foreshadowing there is for all the titan identities (idk if it would be interesting enough for a reaction tho). overall great reaction and i can't wait for the rest of the season, so many great character moments and reveals to come. i will just say you should pay careful attention to the dialogue in episodes 9 and 10, it's a bit sneaky haha. keep it up! also yay now you can look at the opening

"Oh yeah so I'm the Colossal Titan..." :O Oh that's a great point about the language Ymir was speaking, so it makes me wonder if they're all speaking....well, Japanese I guess, even though I don't think this is set in Japan....or if they randomly can slip into another language???? Probably reaching with that one haha. I so want to go back and see all the foreshadowing now!!!!! I'm sure I'll wonder now how I could have not known!! Thanks for the heads up on eps 9 and 10, I'll be careful to pay attention!!! And I'll try and make sure no neighbors come by during those!!! >.< LOL! Thank you :D

The reveal of Reiner and Bertolhdt was...just insane. The music. The dialogue. The reveal in and of itself. Just...wow. To be honest, I still love them. In the scene of the reveal you can kinda tell Reiner’s having a bit of a breakdown, judging by his choice of words and facial expressions and the fact he TOLD EREN HE AND BERT WERE THE COLLOSAL AND ARMORED TITANS just incredibly nonchalant. I wouldn’t be too harsh on them just yet.

Wow... hard to describe my reaction to this. First, It was shocking, emotional but on a whole 'nother level, almost cried. And then, replaced with burning Anger/Hatred. Loved your reaction Melissa. What an amazing anime.

The doorbell, what a timing. This, and the episode in general, a great example of Murphy's law :D This episode is just colossal (ahah...), the reveal, THE MUSIC, omagad, the music. You can't get ride of Ymir just like that ! Title of the episode, Warrior. Annie mentioned something like that when she was cornered. Berthold mentioned something like that 2 episode ago. An awful thing to realise, when Reiner was about to transform, he said : "We were just kids, we didn't know anything". The wall fall 5 years ago, I won't do the maths, but Reiner and Berthold are not so much older than Eren. Who was really young when the wall was broken the first time. So... children broke the wall. Just saying. I agree with tom, dialogue in episode 9 and 10 need careful attention ;) This episode was extra, but as always with AoT, you can always expect things to go even crazier. Thank you for the reaction !

Yeah, I agree Melissa. Personally, I decided to skip all intros, titles of the episodes, outros and possible end credits. Some might consider it extreme but going in blind with only the clues the writer gives you, is a lot more exciting and interesting in my opinion. Especially in an anime with such a great, mysterious story. Would definitely suggest anyone.

Poor Eren, he was in denial all the way up to seeing the Bertholt and Reiner transform at the end. Remember, it's only been a couple days since the Raid on Stohess, where Eren had to confront the reality that Annie was an enemy. (they didn't show it much here in the anime, but in the manga they trained a lot together and were... kinda close. You already saw the next episode, so you kinda got an image of that.) He didn't want to lose anymore friends.

traitors or not, this episode always makes me feel kinda sad- reiner and bertholdt had been our friends for the whole show and even though theyre enemies it doesnt feel good to me to see everyone against them after everything everyones been through together :(

I was somewhat disappointed that Reiner just came out and said it. Annie was a dead giveaway because the female titan looks just like her. Reiner i had pegged because of the hair but the collosal titan looks nothing like Berthold. Ymir looks a bit like her titan. Originally she was known as the "dancing titan" but the official name of that titan is the Jaws titan and she is weird that she didn't change look-wise. Where Berthold comes from his titan is known as "The God of Destruction" because the way his steam works and it can do a lot of damage and he has no skin so everything he touches sets on fire. If you remember when Hange touched Eren's arm when it transformed to pick up the spoon it was hot and she burned herself. Imagine that but instead of 15m it's 60m. (i think. im american i don't do metric. I think they said the wall was 50m high so he's even taller than the wall titans) You could also see the new design for the "titan marks" on Ymir. They were lines around her eyes where she was connected to the titan. I told you earlier those red marks on eren's face at the end of season 1 were where he connected to the titan but they were redone and never seen again.

Wow, don't you think you are a little too heavy on the terminology ? Those are not really spoilers, but the show is no way near to use these names for the titans... So Melissa doesn't really need to know this, for now. But too late I guess...

The soldier Nanaba in the last episode was yelling "father" or "dad" like she was being chastised for misbehaving, probably because she was in shock, dying as the Titans were eating her, she was probably hallucinating or flashing back to a harsh childhood, if that's what's coming out of her when she is about to die. When you see the opening, pay attention to the lineup of heroes. That's what would have tipped you off and the biggest spoiler. The Colossal and Armored Titans fighting with Eren is just consequential.

It's really hard to hate them, right?!?! I agree, I need to hear the whole story....because it still seems like they weren't putting on who they really were, you know? Like that's really them, they just also happen to have this terrifying mission to destroy humanity haha.

Lol right!!!!! I couldn't believe just how incredibly awful my neighbor's timing was haha. Yes, what a crazy good episode! I'm glad this isn't the end for Ymir, hoping she wakes up soon! Yes, someone mentioned the connection between Annie mentioning a warrior and Reiner saying it an ep or so ago. What a great callback!! So true that they were just young kids when they first transformed and caused all that destruction!!!!!! It's insane!!!!!! Thanks for the heads up about 9 and 10!!! I agree!!!!!!!! I really feel like they weren't putting on who they were, you know? Those close friends they became to the group - that's really them. They just also happen to be Titans for some reason lol. Sad stuff!

Got it!!!!!! That makes sense; I thought maybe it had more significance, such as a situation similar to what Conny's appears to be. Thanks for the heads up on the opening! I actually didn't notice the order when I watched, I'll have to pay attention to it next time I watch an ep!!!!!

One more thing I just remembered: now that you're watching the op, I want to bring up the phrase "Shinzou wo Sasageyo." It's the name of the op this season, and it's a phrase you've heard back from season 1. It means "Dedicate your hearts," and it's sort of this show's equivalent to My Hero Academia's "Plus Ultra."

AHAHAHAH, that timing was just perfect. This is the biggest most casual reveal I've ever witnessed. I think mentioned this earlier but this reveal was why I wanted you to avoid the op since you see Eren v Armored titan and if you don't know for certain that they're coming back this reveal just comes out of the blue since we haven't seen Armored titan since episode 2 of season 1 I think. This episode is also the one that made iffy about Mikasa's character. I don't know if anyone agrees with me but I think it is very scary that immediately that they tell their identity, she went for the kill. And she didn't seem any bit of shocked or hesitant. So I always thought that was scary and it put her character in a new light for me. I guess its just a good thing that she so madly wants to protect Eren and isn't on the otherside.

I definitely would have started speculating based on Eren and the Armored Titan. Hmm, interesting thoughts about Mikasa! I hadn't thought about that actually. She had no hesitation for sure. I guess maybe because they had that meeting ahead of time, she wasn't as shocked?? I don't know. Good point though!!!

The funny thing is - if you go back to the very first episodes in Attack on Titan (episode 2 to be exact), you will see Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner in the background (you can see annie in the bread line at around 15:30 and reiner and bertholdt standing in the crowd among the other refugees at about the 19:40 mark)

Since I'm currently writing AoT comments , I'll go back and just comment a bit on this episode that have the casual reveal of Reiner & Bertholdt being Titans. First time I saw it I actually thought they had made a mistake with the subtitles like that they maybe mixed up subtitles from another episode or something like that. It's that casual :)
