Hey everyone! Here is my reaction/review for season 4, episode 25. WOW......I can't believe I'm about to say this but.....I can really see Endeavor being the no. 1 Hero after this ep! I'm not saying it excuses his past, but I truly feel that he genuinely wants to start over and be a better man. I think even the people around him who least expected to be won over are seeing that now too! THIS SHOW!!!!! It made me root for him and cry for him lol! >.< Great ep and great season! I think it's my favorite season yet! Thanks for joining me on this journey into season 4. I hope you'll all join me next season!!! PLUS ULTRA!!!! Enjoy! ~ MH

Kinda dislike that Endeavor ''stealed'' the finale of season :D not that i dislike him or anything >.< buut Deku already has his time.. and All Might is gone practicly.. so.. i guess its okay :D kinda wish they would show us the Gentle little bit more.. :D funny at start i dislike him.. but after all those backtory and fight.. he become.. more important than.. some characters that are there from begining.. :D edit: oh dont get me wrong.. it was good fight.. and great finale :D by the way.. when she said he is the most stubborn than anyone.. im like.. hmm Deku is also pretty stubborn lol :DD

kamenriderhime

I hear you! I guess they were trying to resolve the little bits and pieces we saw of Endeavor throughout the season trying to be a better hero. I would love to see more Gentle too! Isn't it funny how he grew on all of us?? LOL great point about Izuku being pretty darn stubborn!!!! Glad you enjoyed it overall!!!!!!!!!! ^_^

In the fight between All Might and All For One, there was a moment when Endeavor admitted that he pushed and pushed to surpass All Might. He said that no matter how hard he tried, the gap grew wider. Then he admits that in that moment, he despaired. It flashes to his wife. It flashes to Shoto. That was the first glimpse. He acknowledged that he had destroyed his family for his own selfishness. What a great episode. Who knew that we would shed a tear for Endeavor? "You are me. From the past, or from another future. Burn up, and be laid to rest."

ep 33/ season 2 ep21 can fill in a few answers about the chars in the end clip. love the reaction through out the season thank you.

In the beginning, Natsu said: what he did to our siblings. Plural, so they have another besides Shoto. We see a full red hair in one of the flashbacks. Did you notice where Endeavor got injured? Left Eye, same as Shoto, also on his left side, same as All Might. After he got injured and flew after the Nomu, Endeavor’s Theme started to play. Just after Endeavor called out for Hawks, he made a arrow with his Flames to point into the sky, that’s how hawks new where he should fly Endeavor to, upwards. Fun thing, we do see Endeavor’s raised fist in the Opening Theme, so I knew where the season would end. But I didn’t think they would squeeze in that what was in the after credits. Here are things we know with everything that has happened in the 4 Season: He sees Nana, the wielder before All Might, standing besides others and, a golden siluette of All Might. They all watch the scene of how One for All was created. As it was told by All Might in season 2, just after the fight with stain. All for One forced a Quirk onto his younger Brother. That’s who we saw. The younger brother also talked to Izuku, recognizing he is indeed the 9th wielder of the Power. So, I don’t know if you can remember, but I told you waaay back in Season 2 Episode 7, when Deku fought Shinzo, to remember that. It was the moment when Izuku was about to step outside the ring, he saw figures in the dark hallway besides All Might. The same we saw here. Also his body moved on its own. As he asked All Might about that, All Might only said that he saw something like that too when he was younger. But he also said “what ever it was it won’t interfere with you in the future”, we also know that All Might does not know everything about the Quirk, probably because Nana dies before she could tell him everything. And…that’s it, have fun theorizing the next few months :D We all had crazy ideas what that could mean. Well we all know that Season 5 will be awesome! Maybe they will also make the spinoff My Hero Academia: Vigilante into an anime to soften the wait for it.

Yup, quirk singularity is a thing especially with 9 generations of a stockpiling quirk. Can't wait to see "BW" I have heard some things. I'm a bit confused as to why all might was not shown as well because it's been stated (sorry but i don't remember if it's the manga or anime) that it doesn't matter if the user is dead or not, all the vestiges are stored inside the quirk as well as helping grow the power. I really wanted to keep hating endeavor but it's hard. Especially not knowing exactly what happened to Touya Todaroki and the possibility that he is Dabi. If you recall from the movie you pretty much knew endeavor survived. because he had the new costume and the scar on his eye so the movie takes place after this episode. We've seen nomus in many different iterations and in technical terms 9 from the movie was a sort of "perfected" nomu. Someone with multiple quirks grafted onto them and retaining their form and intelligence (Except he had cell degradation and that is not really properly explained, would a regeneration quirk not have solved this?) so we knew the high ends would be strong like the black ones but with a bit of the original intelligence. Dr. Ujiko is one messed up dude but you gotta admit, he's good at what he does.

kamenriderhime

Oh wow, you're so right about that moment during All Might's fight scene!!!!!! Very true, I would never believe you if you told me I'd feel this way about Endeavor now!!!!!!!!! Such a great quote!!!!!!!!! :'D

kamenriderhime

Awesome, thank you!!! And thank you for your kind words, I'm so happy you liked my reactions!!!!!!! ^_^

kamenriderhime

I figured they had other brothers and sisters that weren't shown here! Also, that is such a good point about the eye - what a crazy detail!!!!!!! Thanks for pointing it out! And thanks for all the info on One for All - I do remember you telling me to remember that!!!!!! So that was AFO and the little brother in that scene at the end. Thanks for clarifying!!! Good point that All Might probably couldn't learn all about OFA before Nana died. Here's to spending the summer theorizing lol!!!!!! That would be cool if they made Vigilante into a series while we wait!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

I've heard before that the other Todoroki brother could be Dabi! That would be pretty crazy! Also good point about Endeavor being in the movie, meaning he'd have to survive this. I guess it's good that I didn't think of that during my reaction cause it kept me on the edge of my seat more haha! Good point about 9 being a sort of enhanced Nomu!! I didn't think of that!

Great reaction! One of my favourite episodes of the series, it's fantastic. Endeavor is such a complex character and very well written, and you have more to look forward to in that department in season 5, it's incredibly well done. I wanted to note something also, as you said you couldn't say why Endeavor did the things that he did, it was mainly because as he started to see his limit and saw that no matter what he did he could not come near All Might, he got so obsessed with it that he resorted to the last logical idea he could think of, making a child with a cooling quirk. Endeavors limits are based on his body overheating, we see in the episode when he says, "My body continues to fill with heat...that was the reason.." as a picture of Shoto with his ice and fire pops up on the screen. Endeavors final desperate solution to solve the overheating problem was to find a woman that had some type of cooling quirk, and he was able to find Shoto's mother with an ice quirk. He thought that if he could get lucky and have a child that would get a quirk mixture of both of their parents then they would never have the limitation Endeavor had. So he had one child with Shoto's mother, and they didn't get a mixture of both, so he had another, and another, until he finally got Shoto, with both an even mix of ice and fire, the perfect solution to Endeavors limitations. This is why he sees himself in the nomu so much, he says two lines in the episode at different times which both link into each other, which creates the full quote of: "Bioengineered human..Nomu, you, who have been created to possess multiple quirks, who are obsessed with strength. You....are me..from the past...or from another future. Burn up...and be put to rest." So he parallels the Nomu's multiple quirks with his obsession to create a child with multiple quirks, and the Nomu's obsession with ONLY strength with his same obsession he once had. So many things interlink in the episode and it creates an absolutely excellent look into the possible true redemption of a once broken man who broke the rest of his family with him.

I don’t like making long posts but regarding the character this episode and for future I just gotta say. Wowowow okay. So ugh this is complex to have a take on for this weeks episode. this is for sure best fight of the year, and arguable best episode tied with jirou concert for me for different reasons. Look, endeavor gets me hype, his design is lit, his fights are lit, he’s cool as a hero, but I despise his character as a being in general and have no respect. I think if there’s anything I don’t like about the series, like legit the one thing, it would just be the authors decision with him Like you can’t write him to have done all these things to his fam with much more assumed by what we’ve seen for YEARS, kids that are years apart. This wasn’t just a once in a while thing. It’s like the Horikoshi completely forgot what he wrote him doing and is trying to show redemption. And I get it, man feels guilty wants to face his past, try to be a better person and be the new symbol etc. But like AFTER ALL THAT? What bugs me the most is that shoto and his sister and let alone the mom is already seemingly mega okay with it all of course as a process but it’s still leading to believe that’s gonna happen anyway. Like okay at the most forgive him sure (even though I don’t think something as major as all that should be but whatever) but still least forgive and not forget and don’t talk to him to let him live on his life knowing he messed up but continue amending by being the best hero he can be which is the most he can do. Idk man, I think this is for sure the only biggest flaw I see in what horikoshi was thinking in his writing. An abusive origin is fine is it was again rare occasion not to often or just with one of his kids (shoto) but that often, that long, that much? Naw that’s the only things that’s bugged me heavily along the way. Like honestly if anything this dude should technically be in jail and have the worst image, but that’s probably never gonna get out and if it does it’ll probably be shrugged off.

You have to remember that Endeavor was doing this when they were young children, and the only two people he physically abused was Shoto and his mother, the other siblings only saw the emotional impact and felt the emotional impact. Natsu even says several things being extremely stubborn to even think about any type of forgiveness. Fuyumi's character is kind at heart, which I can't elaborate on because it's manga related. And Shoto has literally despised his father for the entire series thus far, slowly realising there is some sort of emotional attachment there regardless, because Endeavor has actually shown some sign of change. This abuse stuff happened a long time ago in their family, it's not like it happened 5 days before Episode 1 of Season 1, so it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Fuyumi has just accepted living with him, Natsu doesn't even live there he stays at college as is implied by this episode. Their mother has been emotionally and physically traumatised in the past and it's not uncommon for the abused to continue to see some hope in their abuser, this is a common trait that happens in real life, not just fiction. Endeavor became obsessed with being number one to the point where it mentally destroyed him which led him to everything he did, now that he is number one, the true reality of everything has hit him like a truck and he's truly realised how horrible of a human being he was. As a manga reader, I can tell you, you have nothing to worry about with this Endeavor development. Horikoshi certainly hasn't forgotten the character he's written and everything after season 4 is handled absolutely perfectly in regards to Endeavor, it's not a simple clear cut happy days story where an abuser randomly turns into a good person, it's excellently handled so please don't worry yourself about the character being ruined or the writing taking a hit. Unless you are also a manga reader then I literally wouldn't know what to tell you because it couldn't be written any more perfectly.

Anonymous

I don’t like hearing “don’t worry as a manga reader this and this is done well” because you’re practically already spoiling a direction of things to come of something I could see going in many different ways which sucks. Thanks. Either way, still disagree with a lot of points but I’m to lazy to counter topic and relate things to further real life in general for I’ve had this discussion these past couple days with a minority.

Anonymous

Telling you not to worry could literally mean anything. Whether it be that a redemption happens or a redemption fails and backfires, both can be done with good writing. I'm saying it in the context that it's just a well written character, that could be in any scenario you can theorise about. And I'm not sure that there's "a lot" of points you don't agree with as the majority of what I said were factually established events that have happened in the series set in stone, so I'm a tad confused there. Regardless, I don't want to be part of any unneeded passive aggressiveness or conflict here because it's disrespectful to Melissa's comment section. That's all from me. *Edit* Factual points below: It all happened a long time ago. Natsu is refusing to forgive him. Natsu stays at college not with Endeavor. Victims often see light in their abusers. (This is common knowledge in real life psychology) Shoto has despised him the whole series, just look at his entire origin story and arc in Season 2. Fuyumi was never physically abused and has lived with Endeavor since so has not unreasonably accepted it. Endeavor has realised how horrible of a person he was, first seen in Season 3 when looking at All Mights distorted form and saying "I despaired" as shots of his family appear on screen. And then literally this entire episode and the massive symbolism of him burning away his past self. Endeavor being thrown into the spot of Number 1 and basically being forced to be the backbone of society, realising what is actually important about being such a figure, this is, as I said, reality hitting him.

Not really, but sure. Whatever ya say, I’ll leave it at that. Bye.

kamenriderhime

Wow!!!! Thank you for explaining that about having so many kids to try and get rid of that limitation. I knew he was trying to "breed" a sort of "perfect hero" kid but I didn't realize the specific detail about the overheating. He truly parallels the Nomu then, becoming so obsessed with strength at the expense of everything/everyone. I'm happy you liked my reaction, thanks again for the info!

kamenriderhime

AlphaRainer and Caine, thank you for working hard to try and be respectful even when you have opposing viewpoints! AlphaRainer, I very much get where you're coming from with appreciating Endeavor as a hero but having a lot of issues with his personal character and the way it's handled. It's a very, very tricky and controversial subject and I honestly think that there is no right answer; I think a lot of folks will still have many issues with the way they're handling a story about an abuser or even former abuser. I think what's awesome about this series, AlphaRainer and Caine, is that it sparks so many different viewpoints and really gets us thinking about the philosophy of the story! As for folks who read ahead in the manga, it's always tricky bringing up even the slightest, most vague point about any future events, and it means a lot that you guys try and be careful about what you post! Anyway looks like this conversation is pretty much over but just wanted to swing by to say thank you for being careful to keep it civil :) I love MHA and want everyone to have a fun experience with my reactions, the same way I have fun when I'm filming them! Have a great rest of your week guys!

Manny

These reactions were great. Thank you so much for making laugh and cry again during these trying times. This one was one of my favorites. I cannot wait for more!

kamenriderhime

Thank you so much Manny, I'm so happy my reaction got your mind off of everything that's going on!!!!!! I can't wait for more MHA either!!!!!!!! XD Thank you again :D

Well you did it My Hero you got me crying for Endeavor. Ofc you cant forgive what he did in the past, and I don't think he expects that out of anyone. But he has long realized his errors and he clearly wants to be someone that the society and his family can look up to and depend on. And he showed that with standing like All Might. So in words of Inasa "I'm rooting for you". What even was that after credit scene. There was ofc Nana and All for One and his brother. But beside Nana there was one other person that was clearly designed in a specific way. Are we about to learn more of One for All next season? I'm hoping so, god cant wait for Season 5.

kamenriderhime

Right?! Lol. Exactly; he's realized the error of his ways and wants to do better! OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was like "huh" at the after credit scene haha! Someone here explained it really well, that the person with their hand on the other person was AFO putting the quirk into his brother. I really hope we'll learn more about One For All next season!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for season 5, can't wait!!!!!!!

hey, now that we have the new ova fo my hero academia, it would be amazing to do a reaction of it

kamenriderhime

Thanks for the suggestion!! Do you mean the one that came out in theaters earlier this year? I actually saw it in theaters! >.< Sorry, I went back and forth on waiting for the DVD release to react to it, but I just couldn't wait!!!

rogueknight

Hello! I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for making these reaction videos for My Hero Academy. This show was only the 3rd Anime I ever watched. I’ve recently binged the whole series and you are the first Youtuber that I enjoyed watching reaction videos. Your reactions actually felt genuine and I enjoyed rewatching the series from your perspective. Most of the time at least to me YouTube reactions are fake. Yours was a joy to watch and I love the fact you take the time to discuss your feelings, thoughts, and theories for the show. Ending such a great series left me feeling down...so rewatching the series with you was a blast. I even rewatched all your videos from Patreon just to see the unedited versions (I enjoyed watching a whole episode so much more compared to what YouTube allows for copyright reasons) Please continue staying positive and doing what you do. I look forward to watching your progress with The Clone Wars and when I finish season 5 for My Hero Academy I will be following along again with you. Also while you have seen way more Anime series than I have, I recommend Violet Evergarden and Charlotte. Both are pretty good from a newbies perspective. Once again thank you and I hope you see this comment. I wish you the best!

kamenriderhime

Thank you so much for this awesome, encouraging comment!!! It truly made my day!!! I'm happy you've enjoyed my reactions so much and I hope you'll keep watching along with me in the future!!! Thanks for the recommendations, I've never heard of Charlotte but will have to look into it! I've heard Violet Evergarden is amazing and I hope to check it out at some point in the future!!!! Thank you again!!!!!!!! ^_^
