Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of season 2, episode 3.  Oh man, each episode just sends me further down the rabbit hole!!!!!  That Titan was Conny's MOM?!  People can turn into Titans now - I mean just regular Titans, not like the Annie and Eren ones?!  That actually makes so much sense!  Also, my idea that the wall is just a big ol' Titan was solidified by the comparison of the wall sample to Annie's crystallization.  Last but not least, what the heck is going on with Ymir and Christa?!?!  There are so many hints and clues, but I can't quite piece it together!!!!!!!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

another step closer to the truth... just some things to clear up: the moonlight thing was just a bit of dramatic effect, similar to in the first episode when armin says "the wall could even been broken down today" and right as he says that there's that bolt of lightning and the colossal titan appears and breaks it down lol. with the ODM gear (omni-directional mobility gear) you were right, it's just a different translation of the maneuver gear, like how the survey corps can be called the scouting legion or the recon corps, i think even in the No Regrets it was translated as the battalion. also when the church guy (Pastor Nick) was saying "you must keep that thing out of the sunlight" about the wall titan, it wasn't special to that titan. remember how we know from hange's experiments that titans need sunlight to be active? so he was pretty much urging them to cover it since if it was exposed to the sunlight for too long it would start moving about (unlike the other wall titans which are enclosed in the wall so they're dormant), which would not be good since it was still inside the wall and as if titan's couldn't become more creepy, i think this season makes it worse haha. the beginning of the next episode might even have a hint about that

You got some new info in this episode but not enough to answer all of your questions, well at least "Not yet, eh?" ;). You'll just go crazy with theories in the upcoming episodes. Also I don't know if you noticed Hange's and Levi's reaction after Eren and co said Christa is "always hanging around with Ymir". That is cause they also remember that name from Ilse's notebook.

This is not a spoiler because it really hasn't been confirmed or denied in the anime or manga to date. Eren currently cannot harden like Annie however it is thought that any titan can learn the ability (at least those controlled by humans, the wall titans are a different matter and will be explained later) btw ODM stands for omni-directional maneuver gear but in english it's called 3d maneuver gear.

Your reaction to the ED was about what I expected. I'm sorry if you regretted watching it. the imagery is friggin crazy and disturbing, but not a spoiler obviously, more of a WTF IS HAPPENING!

Ah the mysteries, a lot of teasing in this episode :D It won't stop. You will never be bored with this show, and I find this amazing. The author have a way to really surprise us, even after several season. As tom says, the thing with the moon suddenly appearing is a dramatic effect, contrasting with the prior pitch-black night, where Gelgar is freaking out about the possibility of running into titans without seeing them before. And now, well, they see them quite well, quite close. Oh, and the return of our favorite drunken (but maybe sober now ?) garrison soldier, Hannes ! And I don't know if you remember them, the soldier with glasses who killed the titan was Rico, one of the 3 elite garrison soldiers, who escorted Eren to the boulder in season 1. And the one ordering the canon to fire, the captain who wanted to blast Eren with a canon after the reveal of his power. Again, it was a great reaction, and I'm looking forward the next !

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up! And ohhhhhh okay, so sunlight wouldn't hurt the wall Titan, it would help it to move so it could get away!!! Got it! And wow, you aren't kidding about the Titans getting creepier lol! Thanks for all the info!

That's awesome, I've noticed it just keeps me on my toes more and more with the suspense and mystery!!! Thanks for clarifying btw! And yes, Hannes is back! Something tells me life has gotten a bit less party-ish for Hannes in recent years >.< I do remember Rico!!!! Thanks for pointing that out!
