Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to ep 13 of season 2 of Oshi no Ko! OMG!!!!!!! Wow guys, I called it with Aqua and Ruby switching places and Ruby starting to put things together.....I'd hate to say it, but I think we should all get back in the investigation game! Akane is the only one so far who knows the most about what's really going on :/ Speaking of which, Aqua and Akane are officially TOGETHER together!!! I can't wait to see where that's going! Ruby's got the evil star....and so does dad, who's doing MORE KILLING?! What the heck?!!? What a fire season this was! Can't wait for more! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Some people on the internet making a meme that Ruby now gain something like a kind of Sharingan that you only gained when you lost your beloved one, like Kakashi and Obito's.

Hi Hime :) And here is season 2 finished. I was happy to have a little more Ruby, but at what cost... She is now also on the road to revenge and ready to kill, Aqua doesn't think about it anymore but if he falls back into it and the two of them join forces, without intended pun, papa might be dead meat. Now before I forget this party, the creepy white haired kid said about the dad "middle school boy", si you're right to think he was around 15/16 at this time, same age as Ai. But remember that I said the story of Melt losing his virginity really young to a more older person won't be the last time your heard something like that ? Himekawa is 4 years older than Ruby and Aqua, so that mean "papa" was four year younger than when he was with Ai when he had "baby making" with Himekawa's mom, who was an adult by the way... So yeah, "papa" wasn't the only bad apple in the making of Himekawa for sure. But it doesn't excuse that yep, "papa" is at it again, killing a blooming star, just like Ai and like you said, maybe Himekawa's parents (minus him). Mais c'est un meurtre récent, je ne pense pas qu'il ait un lien avec la fille effrayante aux cheveux blancs. My bet is that, she is maybe a goddess, or one of the hospital worker or patient at that time that have seen what happen and is reincarnated now. As for the "15 years lie", it is on the computer of the director sensei of Aqua, you remember that he had a folder in the name of Aqua in his computer, now, for what purpose, I let your brain do the thinking ^^.

If you'll remember, akane warned aqua about going out with kana due to her being an idol. I wonder how much that plays in him choosing to date akane here instead.

I've always believed Ruby suspected aqua was looking for the killer for a long time. But she trusted her brother and just left it to him.

I know it’s the season finale wrap up discussion this week but I think you finally understand why it’s rather difficult for me to keep my comments short on this show. 😅 Quick housekeeping, three things: First, Burning, is the name of the ED (it also won best ending theme of Summer), Pop in 2 was in the credits because of the music video (all songs have to be credited during the episode). Second, to no one’s surprise, Season 3 was confirmed very shortly after this episode was released. Third, the manga announced that it will be ending next month, so that’s the third popular manga to close this year (following MHA, and JJK). I did have to laugh a bit thinking about that line earlier, one of the editor’s jobs is to make sure a popular manga keeps going. But you gotta finish sometime. Everyone’s reeling from the discovery of Gorou’s body for different reasons - a big part of Ruby’s motivation has been cruelly snatched away from her, which is ironic, because it seems the same discovery gave Aqua some closure. I think while he knows he’s been taking advantage of his relationship with Akane, he feels a bit guilty about it (like he does everything else). Akane on the other hand is completely aware she’s being used, and doesn’t mind. But she sees the opportunity to end the farce and thinks logically, that this is the right thing to do. But when she tries to break up with him, her real emotions start to come out. Her brain is thinking, stop, this is for the best, but her heart feels differently. So she’s a bit baffled when Aqua makes a real move to be with her, but she accepts it. As for Aqua’s reasoning, I mean… well, after all that girl has done for her, why wouldn’t you want to be with her? Now that he’s got closure, perhaps that gave him the mental freedom he needed to actually pursue his own happiness. It seems Ruby is having a weird dream, she’s reliving past scenes and then the strange girl showed up again, speaking in riddles. Also, am I the only one who noticed she was constantly surrounded by crows? Considering what happened with a crow last episode, what’s that about? The story she’s telling is clearly what happened to Gorou and Ai in Episode 1, only she’s telling it in third person. What was unclear, however, was her description of the two shady characters. One being a middle school aged boy and the other a college student. One is confirmed by her to be the stalker and AI’s killer, and the other is, as she says, it’s your job to figure that out. Music video filming is tough, they’re filming in summer clothing during the middle of winter, much to Kana’s dismay. The director notices that Kana’s got the charm that can get supporters, and MEM is good looking but a little too shy. Ruby has the prettiest face but she’s not jumping off the screen - until she looks directly at the camera with a very dark look. She’s put together that the person responsible for Ai and Gorou dying is the same - and now she’s in the same state of mind Aqua was. “I’ll definitely slaughter him.” That’s rather intense, but we’ve seen it before, have we not? These two siblings are more alike than they realize. I should remind you that they are both aware that the other is a reincarnated person - they talked about it in episode 1. They just don’t know WHO the other was. Akane doesn’t know how to feel now that she got what she wanted, Aqua’s dating her, her career is on the rise with a new movie even though it’s small, and even Kana is telling her she should be happy things are working out. She’s a bit shocked when she hears that the relationship is no longer a farce, and kind of resigns to it, as she couldn’t date anyone publicly as an idol without committing career suicide. She’s obviously distracted when Ruby starts asking her questions about Aqua’s motivations for being in the industry. Ruby is, apparently, far sharper than she appears at first glance. I think Akane’s answers pretty much put the pieces in place for her, especially when Akane slips and calls Aqua a trend-chaser. She was trying to be careful what she said, but sister knows brother, and has kind of used that little “lie” to make her own deduction. When Ruby gets to the shrine, her stars have gone completely dark, while Aqua’s have brightened. Here’s an interesting thing: when she offered her prayer to have Aqua find the killer, there was a quick flash of the mysterious girl smiling again. I mean, I feel like there’s a connection between this girl and the entertainment goddess at least, based on this. It seems the music video is a success, and it looks like we’re jumping half a year. As for the post credits scene, the only thing we’re sure of is the dad is there. The girl is a mystery, and it appears her hair is light blue, not white. She accuses him of being a murderer with her last breath, and stars fade out of her eyes. Now the question to ask here isn’t so much who is she, but as we know, there’s only specific characters who have that physical feature: Ai, Aqua, Ruby, and the dad. And no, we don’t know who she is at this point. But clearly there’s some sort of connection to him he wanted to sever her from. …how is Aqua going to feel if he finds out that Akane figured out the dad was possibly still alive and didn’t say anything? 😬 Well, I guess that’s Oshi no Ko, it’s never not juicy. I think S2 overall flowed a little better than S1, but it didn’t have to spend as much time with setup. Whatever comes next, you know it’ll be, as they say in the entertainment industry… worth watching.

Hi Melissa, unfortunately we have reached the end of this fantastic season of Oshi no ko. I'm a bit sad that we have to say goodbye to this show for a while, but I'm glad to hear that the third season is already in production and we can probably expect it next year. The last episode didn't really feel like a finale. It felt more like a build-up to what's to come in the next season. Nevertheless, the episode had some interesting twists and turns. What was foreshadowed in the last episode has now become a fact that Ruby is following in Aqua's footsteps as far as the revenge storyline goes. Never would have seen it coming, to be honest, but it's refreshing. What was also very surprising for me personally was that Akane and Aqua are now really together as a real couple and not just for show. I could never decide who I liked better for Aqua. I think both girls suit him very well in terms of character, but in the end it's up to Aqua himself who he chooses and he chose Akane. I just feel really sorry for Kana now, because she was really in love with Aqua. Heartbreak is definitely not something you want to experience as a young person. And precisely because it's so important for her job that she's not too emotionally affected, I think it's something that's very difficult for her to hide now. Especially because she still has so much to do with Aqua. Despite the fact that Ruby is in a depressive phase, the music video turned out very well. I thought the song was very catchy and the visuals were also nice. I think they will have great success with it. I also found the end credits scene very interesting. I already knew that Ruby would quickly realize that Aqua was definitely looking for someone in the idol industry. And it will probably be only a matter of time before she finds out that this person is her father. We haven't learned that much about the father yet, but he certainly looks like a psychopath. I don't really have any idea who the girl is that we saw at the end, but I'm guessing she's also reincarnated and is now the little girl. Maybe that was a couple years ago. I can't quite see yet if that was a flashback or happened in the present. Overall, I thought the second season was a little bit better than the first. I thought the play was really well animated and the sound was also great. I really enjoyed watching it. And, as you said, you really forgot what the actual story of the anime was. We found out so many new things about the twins this season. I find it really fascinating to see how the roles of Aqua and Ruby have switched. It reminds me a bit of Canute and Thorfinn in Vinland Saga season 2, where they completely changed their characters. And that's how it feels now in Oshi no Ko. I'm really looking forward to season 3 and how the story will develop. I already know a few things and I'm not exactly sure how to feel about them, but we can discuss that when the time comes. I would definitely give season 2 a good 9/10.

Manny

Yay they got together! I wish I could celebrate more but man what a way to end things. It’s so melancholy and uneasy. Are we supposed to know that person at the end there? 😬 😳

kamenriderhime

I know!!!! But yeah....it's hard to feel excited when we had so many heavy/dark things going on too! :O From what I gather, we're not supposed to know the person yet!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah I realized that after I filmed actually!!! I wonder how that would've impacted his decision, hmm.

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) For real, it figures the only time we get a big focus on Ruby is this :O If Aqua ends up back in this, with the help of Akane and Ruby, I think dad is done for! OHHHHHH that's what you meant about Melt!!! WHOAAAAAA that actually never occurred to me that he would've been like, 11 at the time of conceiving Himekawa.....and the mom was a full grown adult :O :O :O It's crazy that dad is still out there killing, and thanks for clarifying that the girl at the end has nothing to do with the white haired kid! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that's what was on the computer?!?!! WHAAAAAAAAAATTT!!!

kamenriderhime

Hey Leonie! I'm sad it's over too, but I'm glad we can look forward to more soon! That's the thing, it felt like they were just setting up for next time. It's really interesting that Ruby's now taken up the mantle of looking into the dad! I couldn't decide about Aqua either!!! I was also a little shocked at this development! I know, I feel bad for Kana :( Some folks have mentioned that Aqua probably didn't choose her because of her idol career and the conversation they had about that a few eps ago, but still. I know, heartbreak is terrible, especially as a teen :((( I love the music video!!! They really made Ruby's evil eyes work in it :P Ruby put it together fast, I was happy to see that. And yeah, the dad is bad news! I couldn't tell what time period the after credits scene was either! I'm being told that it's not the white haired dream-kid but someone we haven't met yet. So I guess we'll see! I'm glad you liked this season so much too! For real, I totally forgot what we were doing during the whole theater arc haha, but dang did they make up for it in the second half!!! Oh it's a total Canute/Thorfinn situation right?! I can't wait for everything that's coming, even the not as good stuff you mentioned!!! I love that this season got such a high ranking from you, I think it's deserved!!!

kamenriderhime

Lol there's a lot to this ep right! Oh thanks for clearing that up with the housekeeping! It's crazy to think it's coming to an end soon, despite how popular it is lol. That's exactly what I thought about Ruby and Aqua too - what gave closure to him brought her world crashing down. And I get it about Aqua and Akane - they've been through a lot together, and now that he's moving on with his life, he might want to explore what's there? YES the crows are freaking me out, I noticed too!!! I've gotta imagine that the middle school boy was the dad right? Ohhh good call, I forgot that they both realized they were reincarnated. But the specifics would blow each other's minds lol. OHHHHHH I did not even put that together about the white-haired child possibly being the entertainment goddess!!! That would make so much sense! I guess this is the the gold/blue dress argument from Facebook many years ago lol cause that girl's hair looked white to me. I'm so curious as to what her connection could be to the dad. The star eye tells me she's either related somehow or is another entertainer. Oof, that's actually so true....Akane has been sitting on that knowledge all this time :/ I can't imagine he's gonna take that well! I can't wait for season 3!!!
