Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to ep 12 of season 2 of Oshi no Ko! OMG!!!!!!! What in the---?!?!?! We hit every single tone in this one you guys, from sweet to dramatic to downright TRAGIC!!! The flashbacks were soooo sad but had a hopeful air to them knowing that the two of them did end up connected for life in their next lives.....but WOW guys, I was not ready for that ending!!!! Do you see what's happening here? Aqua thinks he achieved his life's work, and Ruby just lost the ability to achieve hers from her pov :(((((((( DANG!!! Can't wait for more! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Hi Hime :) Before we go into the darkness with Aqua and Ruby, let's take a little time to comfort Mem-Cho, the poor thing was caught between her support for Akane and Kana with Aqua and then took a beating every time she was reminded of her age ^^'. She deserves some rest and relaxation now. Regarding Akane and Kana, even if Kana sees it as a rival (even if we see that she quibbles less with Akane), I'm not sure Akane sees it like that. She and Aqua haven't really broken up, but she still seems to support Aqua and Kana, telling him that he should be careful in the future if he dates her now that she's an idol, it's to protect both Aqua and Kana. Also when Mem-Cho taking pictures of Kana and Ruby in front of the stone faces, if you zoom in on Akane taking pictures, she takes dozens of pictures of Kana, she is definitely a fan of Kana and has a celebrity crush on her, you can also see it when Kana is sleeping on Ruby's shoulder in the car, Akane is fixated on Kana. Which makes the scene of Akane adjusting Kana's dress even more of a demonstration that Akane loves Kana but doesn't want to admit it, but she's not the only one, since the two people who love Kana the most are the only two unable to give her a sincere compliment on her outfit lol. Now, let's go on a depressing note. When Aqua tells Goro's story, he says he became a doctor because he felt guilty about taking his mother's life when he was born... Add that to the trauma of Aqua seeing Ai die in front of his eyes and not being able to save her. It helps us understand even more how traumatized he was and why this feeling of guilt was so ingrained in him, he had it twice. As for Ruby, as much as I wanted a little more of her for this end of the season since we have seen little of her, I could have done without that... It was really heartbreaking to see her realize who was in front of her and in what state. To relight her star, I see only two people, either Aqua through their brother and sister bond and the bond with Ai, but also Kana. Ruby was there for Kana when she needed her at the end of season 1, it is time for Kana to be there for her too. Also, the girl with white hair, says "the two without mother and the mother with soulless children ", so does that means that if Sarina and Goro weren't there, Ai would have had dead babies ? We go into the mystical aspect of the story and since it been a minutes since the reincarnation stuff, I didn't think we will go into it again. We'll see, but remember that the final episode will be on October 6th and not the 3rd as planned. Another series takes the Wednesday spot, so OnK is moved to Saturday for its finale.

It's so hard for me not to respond to your theory on the murder suicide lol. And the dad. Ugh, the consequences of watching ahead.

crazizzle85

Ruby's crush is understandable. We all had crushes on adults as kids, and if asked we would have said "oh, I'm old enough! That doesn't matter!". Which is why the law protects us as kids from ourselves lol. Also, there's no way Sarina/Ruby is anything but Must Protecc tier to Aqua . So it's just something for ruby to get over.

Anime Staff: so how many cliffhangers do we want this season? Oshi No Ko director: Yes. I was made aware of this after the fact last week, but the way Akane hugs Aqua on the bridge scene is the exact reverse of how they look when he pulls her back after she tries to jump. Ruby’s group has their song, and thanks to MEM, the video shoot is all scheduled - Kana is still being harsh but she’s not wrong - the others still can’t carry a tune - that’s probably going to present an issue in live performances. (If Ruby had trouble staying on key before I shudder to think what would happen after the end of this episode.) Kana’s not happy Akane’s coming along but Aqua uses her own logic and reasoning against her. As for the whole “breakup” with Akane you’re inferring - I’m not sure that’s actually the case. I would say their relationship is somewhere between completely broken up and romantic lovers. Clearly Ruby is shipping them, she’s already adopting Akane as her “Big Sis.” (She implied they were gonna be sisters eventually even… 😅). And Kana has to hear all the gushing, Akane’s just like… slow down, I don’t even know what we actually are myself… and MEM is pretty much everyone not knowing whose side to pick. It is interesting that the subject is brought up the town they were going to also houses the shrine for the goddess of song and entertainment. Given everything related to the show’s events so far, it seems more than coincidental. More on that shortly. The photo shoot schedule leaves Akane and Aqua alone and he decides to do some detective work, as they mentioned in episode 1, Gorou’s body was never found - even Aqua tried searching news clippings for it. Akane thinks he’s looking for a lost pet and suddenly finds him way cuter. There was an interesting shot of him remembering Ai at the hospital that faded into him looking at Akane, so take that transition and analyze it however you want. Although she’s not sure what the nature of their ‘ship is, she still is interested as well. It’s ironic that Gorou didn’t have a mother, and Aqua got the mother he wanted, only to have her stolen from him. Also I am sorry so many of your shows are bringing up things that can go wrong with pregnancy, I swear we aren’t deliberately trying to scare you. Seems like both of them have quite an affinity for their time spent together in their previous life. He did have the keychain before if I remember correctly. He was also the last person she spoke to in her previous life.,Also, it seems that when the show began, Sarina had already passed away, before Ai showed up, this is why he was such an Ai fan. It’s implied it had been at least a decent period of time, maybe even a few years. So their “reincarnation” isn’t tied to the timeline of their previous death. As for the white haired girl, the above sentence lends some credence to the theory about Ai I had last week, but… the way she was talking, could it be the goddess of song and entertainment? That would also explain a few things. Her dialogue was both informed and incredibly cryptic. The shoot seems to be going well, despite Kana’s jealousy, and MEM’s age sensitivity. Akane is putting on a good face but she’s still fangirling inside, and Aqua just thinks they hate each other. It’s complicated. At first glance Akane’s comment that Aqua can’t start a relationship with Kana seems to be self serving, but she’s literally just pointing out everything that would potentially happen, remember that idols are not allowed to have relationships, and the scandal would be bad. Of course Aqua’s trauma on that subject is a different sort… was it necessary to superimpose Kana into the death scene!? You know, I had a feeling that crow was going to end up being important when Akane and Ruby left. But oh boy, that’s dark…. the crow ends up leading them to the hiding place of Gorou’s corpse and between the name tag and the keychain there is no mistake. Now the light is fading out of Ruby’s eyes. I wonder how much of this Akane is putting together, she’s a sharp cookie - but the effect this will have on Ruby’s motivation is a much bigger question. Akane has the worst timing with these two lately, she’s discovering their worst nightmares. Maybe she has a bad luck Semblance… like a crow? (That was too much of a low hanging fruit to pass up). As I mentioned earlier, the finale is pushed to October 6, so no episode available for next week’s slot. If your doctor or obstetrician comments that you seem to be having a lot of mood swings, you can probably blame it squarely on this show, right? Is there a week we haven’t run the emotional gauntlet yet? Makes you wonder what they’ve got planned for the big finale… 👀

Leonie2003

Hi Melissa, this weeks episode even surpasses last week's in terms of cliffhangers. I was shocked to see that we get another detailed backstory of Ruby and Aqua from their previous lives and actually learn so much more about them now, especially about Aqua's previous life. that they both really never experienced motherly love shows more how their fates are connected. It just worries me a little bit that if Ruby ever learns that Aqua is the doctor she's always idolized and been in love with, the relationship between them could get a little complicated. Let's hope it doesn't go in the kind of direction I'm thinking right now. You're absolutely right that Aqua is now letting go of his trauma a bit and trying to find the good in life and have a sort of fresh start. And Ruby is now in Aqua's situation in that she's losing the sense of life she's had all this time, now that she's seen the corpse of her childhood crush. This whole crow thing is kind of weird because we saw this mysterious white-haired girl and she was surrounded by crows. I don't know exactly what that's supposed to indicate, but hopefully we'll find out soon. In any case, I think this person knows more than we think and may be some kind of deity. In any case, I think this person knows more, than we think and may be some kind of deity. In any case, I think this person knows more than we think and may be some kind of deity. I have no idea whether that's true or not. I think Akane will find out the secret of the two siblings very quickly. Because she's really quick when it comes to details like that. I'm curious to see how this story will continue. I also really enjoyed seeing Kana, Ruby and Mem-cho recording their music video. That was really interesting to see. And that despite the fact that Kana doesn't really like that Akane has feelings for Aqua, the two of them still somehow get along. I'm definitely looking forward to the finale and really hope that they don't make us wait another year with a big cliffhanger.

Manny

Oh, Gawd, this show is so cute but so intensely tragic. I have no idea what to say about that end. Ruby finding it is breaking my heart. This started so cute. How did we get here? 😰😭😫

kamenriderhime

Hey Leonie! Omg I know right?! It's so sad to see all that they went through in their past lives and just how meaningful their current situation really is. I'm really hoping it doesn't get complicated that way lol because that would be a little weird! But I could totally see how they might swerve the story once/if she finds out they're brother/sister, to be more of a platonic bond. I could see the gray haired person being a deity!! I'm so curious! Akane can totally figure this out right! Omg yes the music video, that was a good scene! I love that Kana and Akane have their own bond that isn't affected by the whole rivalry thing. Ugh that would be awful if they ended us on a big cliffhanger right!!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Omg Mem-cho! I felt for her haha! I really love the dynamic between Kana and Akane here like you said!! It's so layered and much more than just a rivalry or being jealous over a guy. It's so sad they had to be tsunderes about the outfit right haha! Hearing Gorou's full story just made the whole thing sooo much more sad, I agree! Oooh I really hope we get this star relit fast, I could see either of those scenarios! That's actually such a good question about the babies!!! I didn't stop to think, I guess I just thought the show was implying that we don't get our souls till we're born? Lol. I'm so sad we have to wait longer but I can't wait to see how they wrap things up!!!

kamenriderhime

Lol yes, I too remember those times! But yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, that this will immediately pivot to a platonic/brother-sister bond!

kamenriderhime

Hahaha yup :P That's amazing about the bridge scene. Lol fortunately there's ways to get around singing out of tune, but still! Yeah so I didn't realize they weren't actually broken up! I guess they never really came out and said they were ending it. No one tell Ruby :P It's even more interesting that the two would end up the way they did, considering how much info we got on their backgrounds here. Poor Mem lol. OMG the crow was definitely giving some eerie vibes but WOW! This is darker than the last Ruby I saw hanging around a Qrow :P Thanks for the update on the airing! LOL I'm sure I'd get banned from reacting forever if my doctors knew how much these shows upset me :O :O :O

John J Ronald

Thanks for another great reaction. I can't deny your open mouthed reaction to the final scene had me cackling...damn this show....yeah I got no idea about the creepy white haired girl in the tree, she's a new element. Also, I think it's fair to say that *Ruby's* revenge arc starts here....she's gonna be determined to find her beloved doctor's killer now...and Akane will probably help her as well. If the acting gig didn't pan out for Akane, she could definitely become a police criminal investigator, no doubt. She has a cool, rational, analytic approach to everything.

kamenriderhime

Hahaha glad to hear it!!! This is gonna be a dark arc for her for sure. Akane would make a great CSI right!!! Her mind is amazing, it's no wonder Aqua took notice.
