Leonie2003

Hi Melissa, as you may have noticed, I had a lot of fun editing this review again. It's now the second last review of Steel Ball Run and it's kind of sad that there's only one video left, then you've already finished part 7. It was really hard for me to edit some scenes in this review because they were really sad for me as well. But I'm very happy that I was able to find the scene with Gyro's death on YouTube, because it went so well with your voice-over. I hope you like this version as much as I do. The final fight with Johnny against Valentine was absolutely brilliant. I was like you, because I also believed Valentine for a moment that he was going to make a good deal with Johnny. But then it hit me in the face again that he's the Main Villain and will probably never do anything good. But he made himself look very believable. You have to give him credit for that. I also thought it was really good that we learned a bit more about his backstory. Since I've only watched Pulp Fiction once, I couldn't immediately recognize which scene you were alluding to, but then I realized again what you meant and now I definitely see the parallels. It's just a shame that Valentine had to make way for Dio. As you've already mentioned in the review, I disagree with you about Dio's appearance in the finale. As you rightly said, I think Valentine deserved to be the final boss and not be overshadowed by Dio, especially since the alternate Diego has The World as his stand. He's then immediately perceived as the Main Villain because you immediately have flashbacks to old Jojo parts. On the one hand, I think it's cool to see him again, but on the other hand, it's too much fanservice, which I'm not really used to from Araki, especially in the finale. That's why it was a big shock moment for me to see The World. But nonetheless, it's a good final act that will then unfold to its true greatness in the final chapters. I will definitely share my final thoughts with you in the next review.

NOOOOOOOOOO! He’s really gone?! Aw and Leonie adding in the motion picture stung so hard in the most wonderful way possible 🥲 Or should I believe it? After that ending I’m ready to still keep hope somehow. Idk I’m definitely happy we got that wonderful send off but still to have my Gyro back. It’s really touching how Johnny wants to give his friend a proper burial. 🥺 Um, wow okay this was a lot to take in. A lot happened in these— where to start… Valentine definitely had me wanting to believe in him. That pulp fiction background with that Saw twist was pretty interesting. The cause for winning this battle was astronomical to him and it did wonders for his character, especially being the villain. I think you’re right I don’t believe we’ve had a battle like this with any other villain before. That’s pretty noteworthy. I have to respect a man with immense love for his country 🇺🇸 It’s weird I expected Valentine to be the last villain but for some reason I’m not particularly feeling any kind of way with his end right now. Maybe it’s cuz I don’t know how it ends so it hasn’t completely sunk that he’s died. I believe I should feel saddened in a way because he’s literally the main antagonist for part 7 and he was a great one but idk I liked his ending enough. Maybe a bit faster than expected, but that’s how draws in the old west play out. It was still a pretty fantastic and enthralling battle between him and Johnny. I can definitely understand why some would feel a certain way. Maybe it was a but unfair for him to not be used as the final final boss fight here but idk I can accept it. Maybe it’ll sink in later. I was still expecting him to wake up but when HE showed up I immediately moved on because how could you not!? Are you freaking kidding me?! Diego!!!! And ZAWORLDO!!!!!!!???!!! HOLY COW!!!! Holy 🐮 !!!! I’m stunned. I don’t know what to make of this except YES!!!!! Which is weird cuz now I feel a bit guilty for moving on from Val so fast but WOW!! 🤩 I can only imagine the possibilities of what this might mean!!!! Johnny vs Diego what a freaking way to bring it back! Idk if happy is what I should be feeling but I am! Man I’m so stoked for next week. I’m holding you to it being good like you claim. 🙏 RIP Valentine. I know he was scum but he was a great villain. I truly mean that. And I can’t help but have a soft spot now because of his passion for Justice. Whatever that would have been at least he really was committed to building a “better” world. Plus yeah to be the one we followed just to play second-to-last would be understandably disappointing to fans for sure. But I gotta say Diego is more than a fine choice to finish it off with. If there is anyone is more than qualified to continue as villain in part 7 it would have to be a DIO. Man we lost Gyro but got back Diego 🥲 Now I’m wondering what does this mean for the corpse parts. What’s going to happen with them now? Too much to process I need to sit down and eat! Great reaction. Fantastic work again Leonie! Keep up the great work! ♥️

Hey Leonie! You did an AMAZING job on this and the clip was so perfect!!! Valentine was so convincing wasn't he? Yeah, I mean, when you think about it, it really couldn't work out well....but the fact he had us going means he was pretty good at what he was doing lol. I'm glad I could point out the Pulp Fiction reference for you lol! I totally get where you're coming from about bringing in Diego/The World as the main villain! I can see the criticisms for sure, considering what a great villain Valentine was right up to the end! It is cool to see The World again, I guess maybe Araki wanted some nostalgia/fanservice in there like you said? The final act is sooooo good! Thank you for editing my review!!! I can't wait to see what you do with it!!! XD

kamenriderhime

I knoooooowww!! Like I was kinda hoping we could hit the back button in this somehow! Didn't Leonie do a fantastic job?! It was totally Pulp Fiction meets Saw lol! Yeah this is unique right? Valentine's ending felt kinda quick to me too, it took me a while to believe it! He was really a great villain and just played off our crew so well. Yeah I can totally see the argument that it was a bit unfair not to let him have the last word as the main villain! But OMG ZAWARUDO!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha isn't it just like absolutely bonkers to see him here?!!?!? Like what even?! I hope you love this week's final batch!! I agree about Valentine, he wasn't exactly sympathetic but definitely had some aspects that at least demanded a little respect, considering how intense his convictions were. To think we're finishing this part off with DIO!!!! OMG for real, like we lose one hottie and gain another :P Good question about the corpse parts, all will be revealed this Friday :D It's a lot to take in for sure! And YAY great work Leonie!!!!!!!!!

I've been behind on the Steel Ball Run reactions, but I just remember I forgot to tell you: Their first attempt at translating 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' was 'Filthy Acts at a Reasonable Price.'

kamenriderhime

I'm so glad you're getting back into them, yay!! HAHAHAHAHH yes thank you for the reminder, I LOVE this name! Might be the only localized name I like, besides Flaccid Pancake :P

Senpai

They're just so shamelessly bad that they're great. xD

Stand Name: The World Stand User: Parallel World Diego Brando Name Sake: The World (Part 3 Stand), The World (tarot card) Destructive Power: A Speed: A Range: C Persistence: A Precision: A Development Potential: B

Progrise16

You know, this means that the original Diego probably also had The World, he just never awakened it. He got transferred Scary Monsters and kept that Stand. As we saw with the Hot Pants from another world, she still had Cream Starter. In a world where the corpse parts don't exist, Diego awakens to The World.

kamenriderhime

Thanks for the stats! And OMG, I actually never thought of it that way....I honestly kinda thought the AU Diego has The World because he was such an a-hole hahaha. I like to think that other Diego wasn't as far gone and that's why he had something like Scary Monsters - powerful and very beastly/full of rage, but not necessarily as power hungry. Then again, if he'd lived on, and if the corpse parts never existed, I can kinda see it. Really good food for thought, thanks!
