Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to the third OVA in this long-awaited series!!! Wow, I was really happy to see this was the D'Arby one!!! I think they did a great job with it and it hit all the beats it should have. The tension was built up really well, the expressions and animation looked great, etc. The only major change was that in this version, D'Arby tells them Dio's location - which makes sense for the plot, honestly! All in all this was really fun and I'm enjoy the series overall! Good stuff - enjoy! ~ MH

Ugh, I think I caught your cold 🤒 - trying to listen while gargling salt water is a bit of a challenge. Where’s the apothecary? Anyway, this is one of the more interesting ones to do - obviously they had more time do they didn’t have to split it up, although the recap itself felt like a good five minutes of it. When you don’t have to condense everything into airtime you can be a little bit more free with how scenes are shit. I pretty much went over the plot points in the original anime, but sometimes a battle of wits is every bit as interesting as a physical clash. I do notice in these OVAs there’s a lot more detail given to the facial expressions for the most part, while they do seem to be minimalistic on actual physical movement. Something did occur to me though, I kind of wonder if Araki took inspiration from the big poker game in Casino Royale (the first well known James Bond penned), and this might’ve been him paying homage to it. Also, I remember the anime starting with the overturned carriage so that wasn’t just you - unless what Crunchyroll’s got and what Netflix have are slightly different? I get enough of this series on a weekly basis with the channel I’m generally not seeking it out more. Or worse yet, maybe a Stand caused us to only remember three things. :p :p :p

Yeah this this was the episode to do on OVA on. This is one of the more iconic episodes in the series. I weirdly missed D’Ardy 🃏 lol stop. Joseph only cheated in writing. It’s why Araki made Morioh its own character. It’s like Josuke somehow being a Gemini. It’s just written that way. We’re an exclusive club. The only way to be one is either born or have the coolest mangaka write it in for you. It’s said that Joseph did but uh uh only to progress the story. And still upset and no one can tell me different. Hmm now im wondering what Suzi Q looks like in this version. 🌹 🥲

Man I wished there was a 90s version. I felt like the pacing was good just more early style of pacing. Adaptions always elongate the happenings in the stories but modern Jojo REALLY elongates the story and it builds up more tension than necessary. But if we were lucky enough for there to be a full 90s Jojo and if I were a kid watching this on Saturday morning with my brand flakes there’d be no problem. I’d still be entertained. It’s hard not to compare with what we’ve already seen but I still thought this was charming. ♥️ ♠️ ♦️ ♣️

Uh oh!!! I hope you feel better soon! You need Maomao! Right, they were able to include everything here, which was cool. I know, the detail is really nice! Oohhhh I never thought of that, but it's possible! Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one who blocked out that opening haha! I wish I could blame it on a difference in platforms, but Mr. Hime watched it on the same one I did and remembered it (even though he's only ever seen it once haha). D'oh!
