Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 44 of Kamen Rider Gotchard! Dang guys, we are getting into some stuff at this late stage of the game!!! I knew it, I knew they were gonna do a storyline where Kaijiki's been memory wiped one too many times! I love that they're bringing back his girlfriend and lots of other side villains from along the way!! Also, what's this that the sisters have hidden memories from another life or something?! Can't wait to see where this is all headed! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) Since you're talking about the next series, the first three episodes were apparently leaked recently... At least we know they're ahead of schedule. The sisters are therefore based on real humans, it is time to return to an old theory, especially with Lachesis being able to become human if she regains the memory of her model. Rinne is a doll. Let me explain, as I said at the very beginning, Rinne means reincarnation, so imagine if Fuga's real daughter is dead, he creates a doll in her likeness and uses the same alchemy that Kyoka wants to use to transmute Lachesis into a human , on Rinne. Maybe it's still me who's delusional, but given the Rinne/Atropos relationship and that Atropos is stuck at the age of a little girl, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of connection like that. Also, the Abyssal Kings said Geryon was their doll, is he based on a real human and replaced him ? In this case, new idea, Atropos is the daughter of the real Geryon, perhaps even the daughter he had with the scientist we saw previously and what he whispered in her ear would concern Atropos, but she was transformed into a doll by the current Geryon. There's still so much mystery left and only a few episodes in, I don't know how they'll manage to fill it all in.

It really does feel like Hotaro and Spanner keep repeatedly having the same argument about Chemies(Hotaro says he believes that Chemies and humans can be friends, Spanner says it’s too dangerous and Alchemy law forbids it, Hotaro asks Spanner why he thinks that way, and then Spanner storms off without continuing the conversation) It reminds me a lot of Aruto and Fuwa from Zero one arguing about Humagears but even Fuwa eventually learns to trust Humagears.

I actually think what happens to Kajiki at the start of the episode is kind of a reverse callout - in general, there’s a trope of women constantly being frustrated men have trouble communicating with them - but in this case it goes the opposite way. Hijiri probably could have avoided a lot of issues if she’d just added a couple more words to the text message. That’s not really here nor there, though - as it seems the memory wiping is starting to have… side effects? Which begs the question, regardless of whether or not you agree with Hotaro or Spanner, is there coming a point where that isn’t an option anymore? As for Clotho, it seems she’s gone to a new deity in Gailejah, you kinda knew Atropos wasn’t gonna leave Geryon’s side. (Btw I called that she’d show up when Rinne was walking around by herself, she always does.) Her whole “family” is all broken up now. Speaking of Gailejah, she can see the future? I wonder if this will tie Gotchard Daybreak back in? And Geryon’s “foot soldier” army - maybe it has a connection to Hundred, since it looked like he had at least that many Dredd soldiers. Look, I should just point out two women got the stalker submarine dude out of jail, they must really be desperate. (Either that or the producers asked which guy can we bring back who’s the most creepy??) The sisters figures are based on real people? So if Lachesis gets their memories, what’s that do to her? She’s got a right to be concerned. As far as Hotaro Vs Spanner, one relies entirely on emotion and feel, which is why Kyoka calls him easy breezy boy. Spanner is all about the final result of the outcome. It’s like it was says when he was being taught, he puts emotions aside and focused on the bigger picture, which makes him seem a bit cold. The truth is somewhere in the middle… But apparently people who’ve turned into Malgams before can do so again. Since people never cling to negative emotions (including myself this week) I’m sure nothing bad will happen… You’re an emotional person? Wow, I had no idea! Don’t know anything about the next KR, but it’s about time you’d be hearing stuff about it, I’m sure. But there’s plenty of balls in the air left to take care of here first. 👀

For real let Kajiki be a rider! ✊

I can totally see the parallel to Aruto and Fuwa! I know Hotaro and Spanner have been at this for a while. I've got to think that eventually this will end in a compromise or some kind of understanding between them, I'm just not sure how. Guess we'll find out in a few eps!

Hi Spadeas! :) Ooooh I'm glad to hear they've got some episodes banked there hehe. Can't wait for the new series! The first thing I thought of was your theory about Rinne! I think there's definitely some merit to it, now more than ever. That's a good call, like I wasn't sure if they meant he was brought back because of them, or if he's literally a doll? I think Atropos being the actual daughter makes a lot of sense too. For real, there's still so much to do!!! I have no clue how they'll do it all!!

kamenriderhime

That's an interesting take on the Kaijiki situation! There's definitely some side effects to the memory wipes. Good call that no matter which side you land on, it's looking like the memory wipes might not be a solid option anymore. Lol Atropos really does always wait until Rinne's alone to show up! Clotho's got a new allegiance now. I'm not sure about Gailejah, but that's possible on how we'll tie in the other Gotchard. LOL you know they're desperate if they felt the need to bring in stalker guy :P I know, I have no idea what it could mean that the sisters are based on real people! Spanner and Hotaro really are on opposite ends of the spectrum here aren't they. Hahah yeah you know humans never have to worry about lingering negative emotions, so I'm sure it'll all be fine :/ Yeah we've got tons to settle before moving on to the next series, that's for sure!!

Senpai

Wait... If they don't need chemies to make Malgams anymore... Well, didn't Spanner turn into a Malgam?

Senpai

They might be saving that for the right moment, and by 'right moment' I mean the worst possible moment for our heroes. D: ...Either that or hopefully what Spanner did to get over being Malgamized originally is also going to help him from being Re-Malgamized.

Director comment: Clotho resetting her status, reverting into her initial costume, has nothing to do with the fact that it is summer again LOL. Well basically, it's pretty common for someone to be in a relationship with someone else, and then breaking up. I just don't feel like it when they have to present those fact in any media. I remember once as a child, I doesn't like the fact that Transformer movie included someone who get along together and then broke apart. Or another case in Ben 10 that Ben got a girlfriend in UAF, but then breaking up in Omniverse for a reason people think it's stupid. Sometimes, we want to keep media as a fantasy, it doesn't need to be real. I don't know if you knew this. When Clotho addressing Gaeliah as "Gaeliah-sama", the sub did say "King Gaeliah" instead. Actually, using "-sama" after one's name typically mean you are addressing them with regard. Like "Sir" or "Madame" maybe. But it's typically used to address someone in a higher position, or addressing someone politely. Like how Izu addressing Aruto as Aruto-sama when he's not a president, or how Fern addressing Stark as Stark-sama even through they're friend. Seems that they just can't find a suitable word for Gaeliah, so they go with King instead. Meanwhile, the word "-san" is also used to addressing someone politely. I think -san is more common, as it can be used with anyone, like Mr. or Mrs. maybe. Subtitle in each media seems to just cut these title off. Like when Sabi addressing his brother as "Nii-chan" or something that included the word brother, but the sub just instead used the pronoun or their name. Japanese people have a tradition that they will mention each people surname, or using -san if they are not that close enough. Therefore, if there are someone calling other by their first name in Japanese, it's typically mean they are really really close. A common traits in Japanese rom-com. There're more to it, like Hijiri addressing Kajiki as Kajiki-kun. But I'm just not so sure about how to use it, so I will just leave it like that. However, the biggest issue now is, why did Kajiki has to present in mostly every scene about Chemy? It feel like his existence didn't improve anything, both for himself or the story. I feel like the vice-president from Zero-One still more reasonable to exist in the show. It's not like I hate him, but I feel like there should be a reason for Kajiki to be in the series. But this is like the seventh to the last episode, but he's still didn't contribute to any major issue in the series, or doesn't have any important role. So it's like, can't they just give him some job? Wait, I just saw Lachesis' costume back. It's the moons! Several moon phases are put on her clothes! That's remind me of something. Recently, I talk with someone who is a fan of both Kamen Rider and Chainsaw Man. He stated that he's a little bit upset that there's someone who he see as a potential waifu character instantly get killed in Chainsaw Man, and I suddenly think about Mukago. Mukago was the lower moon four of the Twelve Kizuki in Demon Slayer. She was brutally killed by Muzan after Rui was killed by Giyu. I always pity her, and that's make me think that I should somehow continue her story. Like creating my own original character who inspired by Mukago, and let her being a leading character, or being freed from any issue that's identical to Mukago. I once created a demon heroine who inspired by Tanjiro, Nezuko, Jojo's Hamon, and Kamen Rider Hibiki. It's like she's a demon who is a demon slayer. So this time, maybe a lower moon demon slayer? Now, let's see how Kajiki and Hijiri gonna be, in the next episode.

kamenriderhime

Hahaha I mean, I wouldn't blame them if that's the reason, actors need to stay cool! That's true, people break up all the time. Oh yeah, thank you for explaining about the honorifics! I was aware of the "sama" suffix but it's a good distinction for just how "royal" she's considered to be. Kaijiki really does have to be here for everything haha, they really need to just give him a job already! I love the moon phases on her costume! Whoa, a lower moon demon slayer with KR influences sounds amazing for an OC!!!!
