Hey Melissa, I was really looking forward to today's video again because your SBR reviews never disappoint. It's not bad at all that you didn't make it to chapter 45 today. It was better anyway because you were able to cover the In a Silent Way arc in one video. By the way, In the Silent Way is a reference to a Miles Davis album. But I only knew that because I googled it, because I would never have known that myself. I'm very glad you included the Pizza Mozzarella cover video in your review so that more people are aware of it. I hope that when SBR gets animated, David Production gives that scene some more love. I'm also pretty sure Johnny was just sarcastically saying he thought the song was cool so as not to offend Gyro. Because if you interpret his facial expression in the manga correctly, he already looks very annoyed. As I foreshadowed last week, Johnny's backstory is very sad and dramatic and I'm glad to hear that you love him even more now and want to adapt him too. I think he would get along very well with Giorno as an adopted son of yours. Despite everything, I think it's very cool that Araki references Jonathan's backstory from Part 1 so much with Johnny's backstory and still writes his own story without relying so much on what's already there. And it definitely works for me. I also think it's very cool that the dynamic between Johnny and Nicholas was so sweet. It just makes the loss even worse. I also expected the worst when I heard that Diego was working on the Joestars' property. But contrary to all my expectations, Diego had absolutely nothing to do with Nicholas' accident. And the fact that it was little Danny who indirectly took the life of Johnny's beloved brother is very sad. Somehow all the fathers in this part are assholes. Diego's father, Johnny's father and Gyro's father aren't the nicest of fathers either. I don't know exactly what Araki is trying to tell us with that? I think it was George's hurtful words to Johnny that caused him to become very introverted, not letting emotions get to him like that and also trying to find joy around other people, whether they were good or bad. But I think he was really always looking for a similar relationship to the one he had with his brother. I think Gyro is a really good replacement for him. Personally, I think that Nikolas is more the loving, caring big brother and Gyro is more the annoyed one who can't really do anything with his little brother, to which you have to explain everything ten times and who actually gets on your nerves. But at the end of the day, you still want to support him wholeheartedly. At least that's my perspective on Gyro and Johnny's relationship. I think they are like brothers from another mother. Now I come to the In a Silent Way Fight. I also didn't expect Sandman to be the one to work with Valentine. I would be really disappointed because I liked Sandman as much as you did and definitely would have liked to see more content with him. I hope that when SBR is animated, they maybe include an extra scene with him or maybe make up a whole backstory for him. That would actually make the whole thing even more emotional. Like exactly what they should do for Mountain Tim too. I have to admit, In A Silent Way is a mega cool designed stand. It also fits very thematically with Soundmen, as he is a Native American, which is why his stand has a similar design that fits him culturally. His ability also reminded me a lot of Echoes Act 2. The fight with him in general was also very impressively drawn. And the fact that Gyro indirectly explained to Johnny how to develop his stance was also really nice to see. The fact that he can now use the golden rectangle is just fantastic. And there you can see again how Araki is not only interested in music and bands, but also history, art and architecture, which always fascinates me. For the next few chapters, you can definitely tune in for one of the best standup battles in SBR. It's personally one of my favorites. And again, lots of content with Lucy. I think it's going to be another very cool video next week. I'm looking forward to it.

Interesting end here with Hot Pants. I do not know what to make of that. I don’t know what to make of Hot Pants in general at this point but next week will definitely be interesting. Johnny has been cool up till now. I was anticipating his story more after we got Gyro’s battle because he’s been delivering some amazing stuff so far already. And with his showdown I was wondering when was this parts Jojo going to get his moment to shine. ✨ First, THANK YOU for taking the time to talk about missing the other universe because I lost it just seeing Josuke and Crazy Diamond through this reaction, let alone the other Jojo’s and JoBros. I think it hit hard for me because like every reader just picking up this new story felt the immediate difference, as it is its own thing. And many although many accept that (so I’m told) we still wonder if this is even the same Jojo in the back of our minds. Now I like that Araki never addressed anything that signified the previous parts at the start and just continued to tell this story. Because it gives us some information to not follow the rubric of that particular storyline. And of course he continues to show homages to our previous friends which is always appreciated! :) When this part was explained to be a different universe than the last, I accepted it in my head but it didn’t quite sink in. I just thought we moved on which made me love the homages and callbacks more. I believe you’re definitely correct that the previous universe is missed deeply by Araki. How can it not be? It’s his baby. It started it all. It’s a HUGE part of his life. Although this current world gives him more free rein to do as he pleases, he’s showing more and more how much he misses THAT world. And I just love that to no end. And even though the pages here were a tell all/ re explanation of stands for this world, those pages did so much for me. Because they were used here, it let me know those guys still exist. We knew that already but that head cannon of mine with the shooting star we saw when first reading this part cinched the idea that the prior part was in some way connected to this one. Hopefully. But here it’s acknowledging their existence with the explanation—and of course Araki used our pals in that previous universe as the perfect example. If the shooting star helped me cinch the idea that our guys still existed somewhere, then this definitely flooded any doubt in my mind that they aren’t completely gone. If anything it completely closed that gap from the previous parts to now. That may just be me but that’s what I felt when I saw them. I was not expecting that but I am so thankful for that. 🙏 Mr. George(?) I see some remnants but this dad was ultimately a jerk. As much of a jerk as he was to Johnny I don’t know why I felt bad for him when he said that cruel line to Johnny. Can you imagine hearing that from your father? :( Idc how much of a strain the relationship is or how much a cruel jackbutt a parent is, no child should hear that coming from their parent’s mouths. Still weirdly seeing those tears running down his face made me wince in some manner of sympathy because he really is hurting. Geez I’m such a pushover— he really shouldn’t warrant any sympathy from me but for that one panel of him bleeding it did something. Still I’m wondering what was his problem with Johnny from the get-go? Interesting how this universe has its differences you can see right off the bat from the previous universe, and some that are surprising to witness. I was not expecting Johnny to be named Jonathan. Again didn’t fully click until now that he’s this universes Jonathan. Still their own people in many ways but yeah. And yet it’s weird how truly similar it was to part 1 Jonathan. I didn’t think of Johnny as anything other than Johnny. But once that chapter started I couldn’t stop taking notes and making comparisons. It’s so interesting to dissect. Now, Danny. Why? Why that name? Why would he do this?! That name alone broke me. Danny dog had his role. It may not have been a long run but he had an essential role in Jonathan’s life. just his name alone can have anyone think back immediately to Jonathan’s best friend. Like he was Jonathon’s friend when no one else was. Seeing it used here just… 😩. I can’t even begin to describe the feelings it brought me. If I wore makeup, it would have been ruined there as well. Now after the unfortunate incident with Nicholas, I then lost my composure. Why? Why would you do that, Araki?! You sense something is coming because Johnny’s brother was just that good a kid. But man to use Danny in such a way is such a twist of the knife. I would also believe the world was out to get me if I was Johnny. I really would and it can be like that at times. It’s why I am glad that that same mouse is acting something like a spirit guide or spirit animal to Johnny. It’s the best representation for him right now as he is trying to scurry through life and prove himself against tough people. I love that dog Danny was such a big role in Jonathan’s life. His life was short but you know he was significant to Jonathan so much. And I’m glad Araki has mice Danny/Johnnys bestie playing more of a role in his life here. That was a bittersweet introduction but it’s one of my favorites so far. Life has brought him down in the past many times over. It may have been inevitable that things would always be tough. But it’s good to know one always had the capability to do more, it’s just they didn’t know it sooner. That thought alone is important to understand. Now I’m holding off on the technique because it’s very interesting but I would definitely like to reread just to be safe. lol details about the balls are interesting but I always feel like I have some studying to do on how they work. You may be right, they could be more understood through actual motion. So hopefully one day🤞 🫧 I’m so happy we got to know more about Johnny. It’s nice to make sense of the new Jojo we saw when first starting this part. A lot of who he is know makes more sense now seeing past. And yes it also makes sense how he’s able to get along with Johnny as he has. He seems to fall natural in that big brother-teaching little brother dynamic. Thank you for saying that. It’s what I was thinking after the backstory. I swear these chapters were everything and more! Ugh. Darn I was hoping Sandman would also join. So far none of the guys I thought were going to be JoBros are getting on our good graces. Diego seemed cool, then heartbreakingly wasn’t. Sandman— I dig that it wasn’t a black and white situation given why he join but it still hurt. Especially given his final words about his village and sister. That’s devastating to say the least. Ya know usually in shows teens have the hardest getting adopted because people usually want kids and babies. So I think Johnny would be more than grateful. 🥲 Alright I gotta add that mozzarella-rella-rella song to my playlist now. I love how he can turn badass, to little kid and back to annoying brother out of nowhere. Idk if Johnny was playing along, serious in his reaction but that was great 😂 Great review! I loved this batch! I’m emotional right now and need tissues. Can’t wait for next week. 🤧

Hey Manny,I love reading your comments 😍❣️. It's always exciting to see how anime-only people react to SBR.

Manny

Aw thank you. I’m just so in love at this point. I didn’t know what to expect after part 6 but I’m glad I followed after all. I was foolish in thinking otherwise because I was already too invested to stop at 6 lol. I look forward to these discussions each week now. Thank you for recommending I continue on. :D 🩵

Hey Leonie! Yay! I'm glad you were happy with the amount of chapters and with the video! Also thanks for letting me know the namesake, I wasn't sure either. LOL I thought you might like the inclusion of Pizza Mozarella!!! I can't wait to see what David Productions does with it! Ohhhh that is so funny that Johnny wasn't being serious, I did not catch that at all :P I really thought he was so deadpan impressed, because I was hahha! You weren't kidding about Johnny's backstory! I'm so glad I adopted him and I agree he'd get along well with Giorno hehe! I really love that too, that there's so many callbacks to PB but this is very much a unique story. I know, Nicholas was such a shining light in his life! And I'm shocked that Dio just minded his business in this lol! Yeah there's definitely a running theme with fathers here. I think you're right, I think those words broke him :( I agree that he's been looking for that brotherly dynamic! Gyro's definitely a bit more sassy and squirrely than Nicholas though haha! I knoooow, it's so sad about Sandman! I'd love an extra scene or two for his backstory! And Mountain Tim too. It was cool that Araki included so many references to Native American culture in his character and in his Stand design. I agree about Echoes Act 2!!! I thought of that too! The fight was really well done and I love Gyro's lesson as well. Araki is so learned when it comes to all kinds of things, it's fun to see how he incorporates it into his work! The next few chapters were WILD!! Can't wait to share my review with you!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah we'll be getting more on Hot Pants soon! Johnny's moment to shine was really something wasn't it! OMG thank YOU for agreeing with me on how hard it hit to see all our old friends!! I agree, this is so much its own thing, which is awesome, but it's so heartwarming to see them all again and know that this is still very much part of the same story, just a different chapter. That's the thing, I can appreciate it more now too that Araki just followed his passion and did his own thing! I love your head canon in regards to the shooting star, and I couldn't agree more that Araki had to follow his heart on the direction of the universe but still really deeply loves the old universe he created! Adding them here was a really sweet love letter to them, to us, and to all the hard work he did in building something so epic. AU George is a real piece of work, although I get it, I did feel bad for him too. Saying that to your child is just awful, poor Johnny must have been so broken! But there was something in the dad's eyes that felt broken too - not vindictive, angry, etc., but just like he'd given up. No, you're not a pushover at all, I get it!!! I have no idea why he treated Johnny that way - at least with our George we knew he was kinda being hard on him to try and raise him properly, but this guy, I'm not sure. Yeah isn't that wild that he's technically Jonathan?! He really feels like his own person, yet so many similarities are there. I feel like that's just how an AU would be though, if they existed (they might!). There would be parallels and things that happened in each one that were sort of fixed, but the rest of it would be in total flux and nothing like a mirror universe. OMG DANNY!!!!! I know, like the name and everything?! What are the odds?! Both Dannies had such an impact on their respective Jonathans :( OMG the comparison of Danny to Johnny is actually so good, I hadn't thought of that! I love that he's still here for him, guiding him, despite Johnny's acceptance of the whole Danny incident just being an example of how the world is out to get him. (And yeah, who could blame him.) I don't know why Araki hurts us this way but he does it so well! Poor Nicholas!!! He was so good, he didn't deserve that. And he was so important to Johnny too, think of how different his life would've been if he'd lived. I hear you about the balls haha, it definitely helps to have an example and reread cause that first time I read it I was like o.O I'm so glad you liked my analysis of the brother dynamic too!!!! Weren't these chapters so flipping good?! I know, I was so sad about Sandman!!!! I never saw it coming either. It's a shame none of these potential bros are working out! Mountain Tim died, Diego and Sandman turned, etc. It was definitely a complicated situation with Sandman, but the betrayal still hurt. Awwww that's so true about teen adoptions lol, I'll totally take in Johnny then!!! ^_^ Hahahaha so glad you enjoyed the song!!!! Gyro is a man of many moods alright :P I really thought Johnny was deadpan serious about being impressed haha, it wasn't until Leonie brought it up that I started to realize he probably wasn't lol!!! Awww so happy you enjoyed this review, this week's is gonna be so wild!!! Just wait!!! Thanks for all your positive feedback! And I agree with Leonie - I'm happy you decided to continue on after Part 6 and watch these reviews with me!!!!!!!!
