Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to the DiU live action movie!!! Wow guys, I've gotta say - that was even better than I thought it would be!!! I kinda love how they fleshed out the story with the grandpa!!! And Tomoko and Josuke talking about Joseph, Jotaro speaking to Joseph in English, etc.....like all the things they added were basically good things! And they didn't change much that they didn't have to. The dialogue, fights, etc. mostly play out by the book (except for that last fight....WHOA I was not expecting that)!!!! Overall I thought this was tons of fun! I hope you enjoy it too!!! ~ MH

I finally got a chance to watch this. Final week of college and family matters involving a sweet fifteen had me busy. But anyways forget good, this was great. I’ll give it a 8.5! I was hoping for so stupid that it was good but it wasn’t even that. I think it was spectacular. Just way better than what I was expecting. No surprise that the actors took their roles seriously but they seemed to really understand that. They nailed it. I was a bit worried about Okuyasu at first but he ended up great. Koichi sounded exactly like Koichi. Josuke’s didn’t have a hair out of place. Jotaro looked 🔥. It was just fantastic. You can’t be mad at the changes because they made responsible changes to it which do make sense. They did more with characters like Yukako and Gramps which I thought made absolute sense and did more for a stand alone live action. They added what I think needed to be added to develop Morioh’s characters alone. I also think it was a nice touch to not have the stands be completely solidly present. The shadowy quick figures definitely worked bests. To me it added a more realistic touch to it. Star Platinum I thought looked okay. Crazy Diamond looked phenomenal! So did the Hand 🖐️. The soldiers were my favorite. They didn’t have to go that awesomely hard with them but seeing them has me aching to see the Sex Pistols from part 5. The soldiers added an element of danger to things which elevated excitement. I think depending on the stands themselves, it’ll transfer the way it’s going too but a whole lot of them looked good. The last scenes with the family drama and photo were nailed perfectly. I couldn’t agree more on how they adapted that part. Given this is a live action I don’t they’d cover everything but I was not expecting them to cut to Kira. I actually was not expecting Kira at all but that was wild. I think you hit on everything that needed to be so I won’t repeat but I really loved it. I mean if people don’t talk about this that much I’m assuming they didn’t dig it as much but I was having fun with it. I think it’s probably the fault of anime Jojo fans because that was great. It’s a win for me. Two thumbs up 👍 👍

Yay!!! OMG!! Good luck with everything! It sounds really swamped! Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you too! Hope the sweet fifteen went great! :D I'm so happy you liked it! That's just what I thought too - everything was pretty much spot on! That's the thing, the changes were really only so that they could literally do the movie haha, not anything done out of artistic license or anything. I love the emphasis on Josuke's family more!!! Yeah the translucent look really helped, I agree! Star Platinum was the one that I was like "hmmm" haha but Crazy Diamond looked really good the more I saw him! OMG live action Sex Pistols, I would diieeeee!!! The soldiers went pretty hard here! Yeah they killed it with the drama here! Yeah the way they kinda used The Hand on everything between here and Kira was not expected hahaha :P I'm glad you liked it and the way I summed it up!! Yeah I either don't hear much or hear really mixed things but I agree, this was really really fun!!!! So happy you got a chance to watch it with me!!!

Yay! :D I like the movie and have it on dvd, so I'll watch it rn. But also - when you're not too busy with Steel!Ball!Run!(which is wonderful imho), try watching 1993's JoJo's OVAs (Stardust Crusaders). Pretty pls, watch them someday. :) also, did you watch Rohan OVAs? They're canon, so watch them sometime, they're pretty fun. :D
