Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to the third MHA recap episode before the new season airs! It was great to see how everyone is dealing with some of the events that happened over the last season. It seems like Uraraka is really bothered by the fact that there's a bit more to Toga than what she thought. And the whole Todoroki family situation - don't even get me started!!! That little scene of Shoto and All Might, hmmm!! Something's brewing! Great ep! ~ MH

I love whatever it is they're doing with Ochako and Toga. It's odd yet fascinating because of the fine line between admiration and obsession. And given what we know of Toga, a very obscure yet saddening feeling keeps growing as the two start having this rivalry, much like Deku needed to stop Shigaraki yet wanted so badly to save him at the same time. And the Todoroki’s— I started cheering for Endeavor and his battle with himself. The family dynamic was never present, and though I feel things can never be “fixed,” I still root for him to keep pursuing a better life than before.

I know, it's really interesting! It does kinda parallel the feeling between Izuku and Shigaraki, right?! Same, it's hard not to root for Endeavor when he's really just so committed to changing and making himself better. That's the thing, like you can't really change what's done, but you can make the future better. That's something!

This episode is great for making it clear why certain heroes & villains fight. I will always remember the Deku vs Kaachan part two shown at the start of the episode it’s one of my favorite fights because of how it reinforced their motivations and combined their motivations in some ways. I love that we have heroes & villains reflecting on their pasts & motivations or connections with villains. I love that with the new content we have Uraraka thinking so much about Toga & her past encounters with her because while it's not a dangerous obsession like Toga’s it’s similar to how Toga seems to almost desperately want to understand Izuku & Uraraka and wants people in general to understand her more. I love that one of Uraraka’s inner thoughts is how she never thought she could understand someone like Toga a villain which hits on something important in the show in my opinion that for a lot of characters especially the young heroes everything was so black and white when they decided/were inspired to become heroes & it has slowly become more and more nuanced/grey as the series has gone on which to me is so important because the characters especially the young heroes need to know the flaws in hero society to be able to fix the problems in it once this war is over especially when it comes to mental health, and how mental health & quirks relate to and affect one another as well as other things I think the show makes clear. This is sort of unrelated but at this point because of non-spoilery fanfiction & how my own thoughts have developed I now ship Izuku, Uraraka & Toga all three of them together especially because of my headcanons on what if Toga’s life had just been different. Also what I think is a new look for Uraraka in the new season shown in the new content this episode of the pink jacket over her hero costume is cool as hell it’s amazing drip. Man, it was rough having to go through Shoto & Toya’s backstories again especially the present day stuff with the Toya reveal & the Todoroki family but it’s good to have that in mind for what’s to come in the story. I think it’s important that Shoto is thinking about all this when Toya has to be stopped but is so strong because of his hate. I assume what he wants All Might’s help with is convincing Endeavor to let Shoto come on the mission to fight Toya or to go along with some reckless plan. I really loved your thoughts about how no matter how much a character develops or how much understanding the audience gains if a character has done terrible things it’s not forgotten it really good writing. I agree it’s valid to be able to get past the awful things Endeavor has done as long as people can see that he is a well-written character and that it’s commendable for a person to try their best to become a better person. Also seeing someone talk about understanding in regards to this episode in the comments makes me so aware of how important understanding is as a theme in this show. Awesome reaction & thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
