(Note: I don't do April Fools Jokes)

Just wanted to update you on the plan.

A not-so-quick census puts the number of videos only on Vimeo as 862. As of yet, there is no single home short of Bitchute where they can all go, and because of the lack of native fullscreen it is there solely as "better than nothing." It's also a lousy place for posting for all of you because there's no private video option, everything is just out there for all to see.

So I've been splitting the videos into four categories:

-Youtube-safe, stuff that has no elements that should be flagged. This is my main Youtube channel.

-Youtube-questionable, stuff that seems to work but may have problems down the line. This is an alternate Youtube channel I made to serve as a firewall, should something happen.

-DailyMotion, stuff that Youtube won't take.

-Bitchute, whatever nobody else is willing to host.

There is also the possibility that I will be on Floatplane, which could make this a lot easier. But I haven't heard back from them yet, so I'm going forward assuming that's off the table.

The intention is to get all the videos restored before Memorial Day. I'm starting with works for the first two categories, to allow me time to further experiment with what I can fit into categories two and three, and possibly even into one. Also, to possibly revise the videos slightly to cope with bots, such as what I did with Dragon's Lair Ep 4. It may mean things like dropping unique titles. The advantage of groups one to three is that the two previous problems that have driven me off (either the system shutting down or being priced off it) can't happen, only them blocking videos due to bots. At the very least, that is an option that should work for a little while.

Google Drive, having thought about it, doesn't seem like it will work for the website. I know Google is strict, because they won't even let me put Google ads on the main site, and they probably have easy elements in place to deal with people trying to share pirated works with the public, tools that would no doubt be used against me. However, it does sound like it might be an ideal option to place videos that are for your patreon awards, so I'll be exploring that possibility.

I had previously mentioned exploring file hosting somewhere and then streaming, and that will probably be something I look into. But not now. I wanted it to be something I can tinker with in my spare time until I've worked out all the kinks, doing it under fire was not the way I wanted to tackle it at all. So I'm kicking that further down the road.

Some items, such as Hero's Journey, are being posted with "Edited for Youtube." The original, unaltered versions of such videos will eventually be added to the site as a free download for all Patreon supporters.

I'll be sending out April rewards to you on Saturday.

I would strongly urge you to go Nebula over Floatplane mostly because I'm lazy and I'm already paying for Nebula and don't want to pay for another thing. Also, Lindsay Ellis is there as well as many with similarities to you are running from Copyright Bots like Polyphonic it is basically made to service a person like you and seems far easier to join. They also have backing by Curiosity Stream so they should last a while.
