Hello everyone!

I'm excited to share more of the creative process behind the upcoming update. Today I'll be giving you an exclusive look at the in-progress design of one of the new characters, the second princess, Yaeko Masayoshi.

Yaeko has been one of the characters that has taken me the longest to design. I had a unique challenge, as she had to combine a soft and elegant design befitting a princess, while at the same time conveying an intimidating strength and presence as a fighter. In addition, I wanted her to share certain visual similarities with her sister, Masami Masayoshi, as they are blood sisters and share dominant colors in their design.

She will play a crucial role during the development of the tournament, taking on the role of the main villain.

A main villain coming from the weakest family?

Exactly, and this will also be a big surprise for the Dragons, as Yaeko is on a completely different level from the rest.

Didn't Felicia fulfill that role before?

Felicia is a different case, she has a justification for acting that way.

Normally, when I work on creating a new character, I find it very helpful to draw inspiration from some characters in other works to achieve that perfect 'Sweet Spot'.

In Yaeko's case, I took as reference characters like Yujiro Hanma from Baki, Vast Montenegro from Far Cry 3, the Homelander from The Boys and Juri from Street Fighter, among others.

The result?

A complete psychopath with extremely dark fetishes.

For the story, I needed a character that would generate palpable tension during her scenes while demonstrating the abysmal difference between the Dragons and a truly powerful fighter, like what Lissette Charpentier was in the past. Yaeko serves as a reminder of the weakness of the Bagliore’s last generation in contrast to the older generation that Felicia aspires to reach.

Yaeko's design is characterized by her muscular body, especially her powerful and sturdy legs, capable of wreaking havoc with a single kick. She wears a spidery outfit, which reveals her true nature. Her makeup is neat, yet chaotic, and she wears different colored contact lenses to create a striking image.

This last detail is equally important, as Yaeko uses her fake heterochromia as a constant reminder of her sister Masami Masayoshi's past.

She has an unhealthy affection for Masami, which tends to put everyone who is in any way related to the young Masayoshi diplomat in extreme danger.

Yaeko is someone who craves to maintain absolute control, over everything, and when things don't go her way, her true dangerous and chaotic nature emerges without restraint.

You'll have a chance to meet Yaeko at the end of the second part of the tournament, but for that, you'll still have to wait a bit longer for the next update.

What do you think about it?

I have made this post as an initiative to show more details about the development of the game to all of you.
