PATRON RELEASE - v0.12.8! (Patreon)

The weekly update has been released!
This update is available to ALL Patrons, with the public build being released in a few days.

This week it's an all-new system! One that will open up a whole lot of fun (I hope) little interactions in the future. For now it's limited to Drift but future updates will feature more interactions and new Powers (mind-reading, anyone?). Also, there's a bunch of tweaks and bug fixes.  I hope you enjoy! :)

CHANGELOG:

  • New System: "UNLOCKED POTENTIAL!" You can now use your Powers anywhere, right from the Powers menu! The scope is limited right now (mostly Drift secrets) but will be expanded over time, and will come into play a lot more in Act Three! (gain this ability through magic training with Lyx)
  • Magic Training: Level Four training available!
  • Misc: Tweaked the wording of one of the leads to be a little less confusing
  • Misc: Tweaked the time system so that it properly checks your location before triggering morning events
  • Misc: Added a couple more renders to the sparring match with the Captain
  • Bug: Fixed the incorrect text at the church which was telling you to increase your authority.
  • Bug: Couple of typos fixed

I'm impressed that you've been able to keep to your usual weekly update schedule in spite of Christmas. I hope you made time for at least a little seasonal jollification.

I hope there will be some kind of hint or something when we can use powers. Having to guess doesn't sound fun, the game has way too much surface area.

I've generally been very disappointed with how 'training' our magic stat has gone. I was hoping for studying books and *us* experimenting with our powers, and what we got is a crazy little 'witch' experimenting *on* us. Lyx is cute, and some of her scenes have been fun, but her role in the game has generally been dissatisfying. And there hasn't previously been *any* suggestion about us not having free access to our powers, whenever we've needed them in the past they've *always* been available. So this doesn't make any sense either.

Gonna be honest, the “unlocked potential” ability feels kinda redundant. There wasn’t anything saying you couldn’t use your powers before and so there’s no reason lore wise, and gameplay wise it doesn’t seem like something you’re need to unlock in the way that you unlock it.
