A/N: Final chapter for the week most likely on Sunday.

------------

Zac hadn't realized how much he'd needed a short break from the pressures of office. The bloodshed and constant threat of death were bad enough. He also had to play the roles of the Atwood Empire's tyrannical emperors. Any hint of weakness could ripple through the ranks of his men or invite trouble from those eying their wealth and position.

The wide-eyed innocence of the newly awakened allowed him to put all that aside. He'd felt like an uncle entertaining a gaggle of kids at a family gathering. Zac was also happy to see his impromptu appearance helped the Echelon class let go of some worries. More than one had carried misgivings about their purpose and role in the Atwood Empire.

Just knowing that no one was out to get them had helped as much as his lecture on cultivation. Altogether, eight managed to elevate their Daos, while two rekindled the abilities of their predecessors. One was Lesiti, who formed her first sliver of Spear Intent. The other was the curious deathsworn, who was now called Wright. He'd actually triggered a bloodline resonance, awakening a Bloodline Talent that seemed very useful for scouting.

Max's gains were harder to nail down. He didn't seem to understand it himself. It seemed as though the link between himself and his Soul Sword had grown stronger, forming a give-and-take similar to his [Adaptive Symbiosis] with Haro. It was interesting, but Zac had no plans to delve deeper into Max's secrets.

Ultimately, Zac had too much on his plate to give point-by-point instruction to his new disciple, and he couldn't very well bring Max back to the frontlines. He'd already provided a path forward, and Max would have to prove himself by accomplishing the task he'd laid out. Hopefully, the challenge would become his first step in formalizing a path of his own.

Zac was even less worried about the Echelon Class. With their talent, it wouldn't be long before they made a name for themselves, no matter if it was on the battlefield or in other departments. They did, however, hint at a worrying trend. The undead side of his empire was starting to become too powerful, eschewing the balance between Life and Death.

Their population was just a fraction of the number of living citizens, but Elysium was producing an excessive number of extraordinarily talented cultivators because of him. It hadn't been an issue when there was only Vilari and Rhuger who stood out. But the Echelon Class would blaze through the ranks until Peak E-grade, as the foundations for the first two grades had already been set by their predecessors. Between their talents and Earth's upcoming upgrade, they wouldn't need to waste much time before pushing for Hegemony.

Furthermore, the Echelon Class was only the latest addition to Elysium's ranks. There were also the Revenants and Corpselords from high-quality corpses collected during the war. The Kan'Tanu rarely left usable corpses, but Zac wasn't limited to only collecting those his soldiers slew.

The Kavriel Province already had an agreement with the Alliance to buy any usable corpses. However, it wasn't easy to forget the eons of enmity. Many were cautious about providing their old nemesis with too much ammunition, afraid it would come back to bite them in the future. The Atwood Empire didn't face similar resistance, and they'd been able to set up multiple channels to discreetly procure bodies for cents on the dollar. Then there was Ultom and the elites who'd participate. Zac's Corpse Sack would soon fill up again.

How was the living supposed to keep up?

Certainly, Earth had an unusual number of cultivators possessing bloodlines. But so what? The purity wasn't very high. The locals wouldn't measure up to the Echelon Class even if they managed to trigger a bloodline awakening. Their predecessors would be considered talents anywhere in the Multiverse, and most had stronger bloodlines than the descendants of the Tsarun Clan's research subjects.

Let alone Earth, barely anyone in Zecia could stand shoulder to shoulder with the Echelon Class in terms of pure talent. Even the established clans in the Undead Empire Heartlands would fight tooth and nail for such an incredible batch of corpses. Any one of the sixty-two had the potential to become the ancestor of a powerful branch.

If nothing changed, the Atwood Empire would eventually be divided into a small group of powerful undead ruling over a larger population of living citizens. Take it further, and a day might come when the undead feel it is a waste to have a bunch of dreamers running around. If all the leaders and guardians of the empire were undead, why not just realign the whole faction?

Zac could quash any such developments while around, but he couldn't stay on Earth forever. There was his mission to Sanctuary, which could take decades, depending on the distances involved. Furthermore, his road was growing increasingly narrow on the frontier. Zecia couldn't provide the resources and facilities needed for someone like him to target Peak Hegemony and beyond. Just Middle Hegemony would have been a headache if not for the contribution store and a few established factions opening their private treasures because of his performance in the lighthouse.

These were all problems for later, though, and the imminent rise of the Echelon Class did help him in the short run. As expected, Kator had been on his case since Zachary Atwood shot straight to the top of the ladder. Giving his undead followers some extra attention was one way to show he hadn't forgotten his Draugr side. Thank god the Reaver successfully stepped into Late Hegemony two weeks ago, and his human side wouldn't compete with Kator for the top spot on the Middle D-grade ladder.

The other participants were already waiting in the meeting room when Zac arrived. Representatives from all races were present, as were the branches of government and military. His human half was already sitting at the seats of honor, and Zac nodded at himself as he took his seat to his left.

"I'm sorry about the delay. Let's begin."

At this stage, there was not much left to discuss. The plans had already been drawn up and implemented, so the meeting was more of a once-over to confirm everything was in place. Zac hadn't been very involved in the nitty-gritty, leaving the details of Earth's upgrade in more capable hands. He'd read the reports and provided general direction. The short of it was that they'd purchase the energy upgrade for Earth the moment Zac's successful breakthrough was confirmed. Meanwhile, Zac would trigger the shipyard's upgrade.

Some final details were ironed out, and Zac added a few notes on his own. Altogether, they were done within two hours.

"Is there anything else before we wrap things up?"

"There is," Ilvere said. "We just received a report. The bell was spotted again."

"Is it still only attacking Kan'Tanu?"

"Yes, but a Monarch appeared to snatch it. He failed, but the bell seemed to have taken some damage before it slipped away."

Zac frowned for a few moments before shaking his head. "It's fine if it managed to escape. Its actions prove that Vilari is still in control. She'll be more careful going forward."

Zac was only making educated guesses, but there was not much else he could do. He wasn't ready to deal with the [Epiclesis Bell], which was one of the reasons he was pushing himself so hard. Vilari's plight reignited the urgency burning in his heart. He stood up and turned to the door when a hesitant call stopped him.

"Wait! Should… Should both of you really break through at the same time? The risks involved..."

The one who asked was Julia. It was a valid question for those who didn't know the truth of Zac's split existence. If something went wrong, the Atwood Empire would lose both pillars at once. The empire would descend into chaos, and their riches would be eyed by Kan'Tanu and locals alike.

"That's precisely why we have to go at it as a team," Zac said while his other half nodded in agreement. "We were once one. Our Mental Energy is still indistinguishable, and we have a complete understanding of each other's paths. One might be able to help the other through the process, significantly reducing the risks."

"But using a Temporal Chamber is too dangerous."

"What choice do I have?" Zac sighed, even if he wholeheartedly agreed with Julia's warning.

He was taking a big risk by stepping out of the river of time once again. He had already borrowed too much between his seclusion and the Perennial Vastness. The disjointed time flow he'd experienced after returning was his final warning. With another infraction, the river would come to collect.

"It's not just Vilari—we're all running against the clock. You have grown immensely over the past year, but the past months have proven how quickly disaster can strike. Even if I were willing to hand over the reins and seclude myself for a few months, how am I supposed to focus on my breakthrough with constant worries rattling around in the back of my head? Don't worry; I have found some methods to weaken the temporal imbalance. One quick seclusion should be fine."

There was one more reason Zac reluctantly decided to take the risk, one not suitable in such an open forum. Suddenly and without warning, the Sealbearer quest's deadline had jumped 197 days closer. Instead of two and a half years until the trial began, they now had just under two.

The shift was related to his actions inside the fortress according to Tavza. Zac didn't understand why that should make any difference. The Lighthouses and Centurion Project were only tangentially related to Ultom. At the same time, the timing and that nun's presence on the Everfast Monarch's vessel couldn't be a coincidence. The fact that the Void Gate completely cut ties with him shortly after gave Tavza's theory more credence.

Since the deadline could change once, there was nothing that said it wouldn't happen again over the upcoming months. There was also his mission to call forth the Foreign Gods and seize the final piece of his seal. If a Lighthouse could cut six months from the Fifth Pillar's ascent, what about the real thing? It could immediately trigger the trial, depending on when he took action.

Middle Hegemony was only his minimum requirement. Ideally, Zac wanted to reach the peak of the stage and upgrade his Daos before it was time to set off. He no longer had the luxury of spending months on core breakthroughs and redrawing his pathways.

Zac left for the closest teleporter, with both bodies appearing in the lobby of his Cultivation Cave. Triv was already waiting for him, while Galau arrived soon after.

"How is it?"

"We've gone over the arrays and installments twice over the past week. Everything is in order," Triv assured.

"Or damaged with in a way that's beyond our capabilities to discern," Galau shrugged.

"How can you curse the lord right before his seclusion!" Triv chided.

"It's fine," Zac said. "Thank you for your hard work."

"Then, good luck, master," Triv bowed. "I will stay nearby should you require my assistance."

"Be careful about getting too close. I might generate dangerous energy storms," Zac said before turning to Galau.

"I'll be careful. I always am," Galau said before his brows furrowed. "I spoke with Average and the others."

"How is he?"

"Not good. Ultimate was their pillar for so long. The family is floundering without his leadership. Most of them are meatheads, so they've thrown themselves at the Kan'Tanu like they're holding the answers."

"We all have our process to grieve," Zac sighed. "Our plan?"

"Average doesn't think it's a good idea. At least not now," Galau said with a shake of his head. "Kantaja is out of her mind, and Greatest is facing immense pressure to hold it all together. He's desperate for power. If we bring him here..."

"He might do something drastic," Zac filled in. "Alright, we'll table the matter. Please keep looking for other ways inside when you have time."

Apart from rehauling Earth's defenses over the past months, Galau had also dealt with the Ensolus Ruins. The majestic temples were now properly hidden, but he hadn't found any way inside using the knowledge gathered in the fortress. Zac's backup solution was to roll the dice and bring Greatest to force open the barriers. The only other Monarch Zac could even consider bringing to Earth was the Void Priestess, but that was also the window since their attitude changed.

It looked like the temples would stay locked down for the foreseeable future. Zac had already tried using the beacon to pass through the barriers, but the two didn't seem connected. In fact, he'd already confirmed the breach wasn't anywhere near Zecia by activating it in different regions. The beacon's only response was imparting a sense of incredible distance. The quest wouldn't be solved with a quick skip into the Million Gates Territory.

Zac went over the details of the arrays with Galau before entering the inner section alone. The cave had seen a large overhaul since he visited last time. Galau and Triv had worked in tandem to upgrade and expand the arrays and natural formations. The energy density was more than twice as high, though it still couldn't quite compare to the environment atop Mount Illumination.

Improved energy wasn't the only difference. Zac walked to the cave's nexus, where his prayer mat had been replaced by a scarred totem pole over five meters high. It emitted an incredibly fierce aura, to the point Zac felt small scars appearing on his skin when he came within ten meters. It stirred the ambient energies, generating a storm far greater than anything Zac triggered while cultivating.

The pillar was called [Might of Ourombos], and one of the awards he received from the Alliance for his contribution. It was a unique treasure excavated from a special realm under the control of the Deonsir Clan, one of Zecia's 'Eight Grand Clans' and a founding member of the Alliance. The realm was called Tribulations of Ourombos, and it was a System-controlled trail zone like Twilight Ascent.

It was only accessible by Peak Hegemons and only opened once every 83,000 years. Since it held opportunities that could increase the chances of opening a proto-space, the Deonsir Clan was forced to hand out some of the entry slots every time.[Might of Ourombos] had been brought out three trials ago by a talent from the Tribal Constellation. The troll had paid an immense price to seize it and died soon after from his wounds. His tribe quickly declined without his protection, and they opted to pawn off the totem pole before it was stolen.

It wasn't clear how it found its way to the Alliance coffers, but it didn't much matter. It was a powerful Conflict-attuned amplifier, taking unattuned energy from the Nexus Veins below and turning it into Conflict-attuned energy. [Might of Ourombos] was extra valuable because it didn't add any will or resentment to the energy, something which was often a problem with treasures attuned to Conflict.

Because of it, his cave finally had all three elements of his path, where Conflict in the middle kindled and elevated Life and Death. The pillar wouldn't last forever, but it was a Peak D-grade treasure that could keep chugging along for millennia before being exhausted.

Surrounding the pillar were nine densely engraved boxes as tall as Zac—three for each of his elements. They were Spatial Treasures holding immense amounts of stockpiled energy. They were also connected to pure Nexus Veins on Pangea and Elysium through spatial gates, allowing them to bring over even more energy if needed.

Zac didn't want to recreate the desolate scene around Mount Illumination, even if he didn't think his breakthrough would be as energy-demanding. Most of the energy from the drained mountains went into upgrading his Duplicity Core and erecting his quantum spaces. Without their pull, Zac would provide most of the energy needed through the treasures going into his core. The Spatial Batteries were a safeguard in case his estimates were wrong.

Continuing into the heart of the Life-attuned half of his cave, Zac found the next addition in the form of an ancient array platform—another reward from the Alliance. Actually, most of their rewards were centered around facilitating his breakthrough.

Sharing his Shipyard quest had clearly made them burn with anxiety, and the recent setback only increased their desire for strong weaponry. If his Cosmic Vessels could lessen the pressure from the Kan'Tanu's general assault, then the Alliance could divert more resources to prepare for the pope's return.

The platform was an ancient relic extracted from a treasure realm, a Core Formation array borrowing certain concepts from the Limitless Empire. The array had been repaired and further modified by a Monarch Array Master following Zac's specifications, and there was an identical one in the Death-attuned half of the cave.

His unexpected split into two bodies had thrown many of his plans on their head, but Zac believed it worked in his favor when it came to his core. One of the biggest struggles Zac faced during his Core Formation was that one of the three elements in his core was always in a quantum state and impossible to manipulate. With two bodies, he'd be able to manipulate his core from both directions. It would speed up the process and drastically lessen the risk of the imbalances that lead to explosions or imperfections.

It was a much-needed advantage, considering the other hurdles he needed to cross.

It should be 1179, not 1178 again.

Any hint of weakness could ripple through the ranks of his men or invite trouble from those eying their wealth and position. Spelling error first paragraph. Should be eyeing their position.

Thanks for the chapter!

Interesting. Wonder what the method zac is gonna use to curb the effects of his time chamber seclusion. As for confirmation that Ultimate peak died, it's truly a shame; as much as I was hoping he was badly injured but still kicking, it seems it wasn't fated. The other issues are hard to solve, claiming the bodies of your fallen foes will always be a faster source of talent than zacs dreamer population as it's up to chance for someone with talent for even hegemony is rare; though I don't see this being an issue in the next few thousand yrs, it'll definitely be one 10-20 thousand years later since zacs undead population will keep growing with the talents zac kills and stores in his corpse sac; though being born on a planet controlled by the Son of chaos must certainly give a boost to many fates, especially after the wars end, earth will likely reach Peak D grade mass and energy after his foreign gods expedition😂😂 At least this confirms that undead start from the F grade unless awakened specifically like catheyas new master or Boje. But to think the Void gate would cut all ties with zac, they truly aren't happy with his adventure in the Centurion fortress🤔

It looks like you meant to say ‘out the window’ missing the out.

I was hoping Ultimate didn't died:(( perhaps they are hiding it and in reality he is alive recuperating and will be a secret weapon? Pls pls please

1) U get an upgrade, and you get an upgrade and you get an upgrade! Everybody gets an upgrade! 2) Nice to see Julia is still here. Curious what the actress is doing now. Still waiting on that Ogras movie. 3) Am I the only one that wishes we got to see the fight between Zac and that spear chick? It's just that usually when Zac fights someone jealous of his progress. They're usually annoying weaklings that assume he's some noble that's never known struggle. Or they're from some noble family and are insulted someone like Zac dared to make them feel inadequate. It would've been nice to see a person that just saw Zac as a rival. And wanted to just prove to themselves that their path was the correct one by beating Zac. In fairness it would still be cheapened a little bit because she just attacked him in the wild. Instead of offering up some kind of challenge so that they could battle on equal footing. But there's no such thing as an honorable person in one of these stories. Those characters always die way too early. Oh well beggers can't be choosers.

Justin van mele

Zac's will probably upgrade earth to a tri-element planet by the end of the war. Do you think Zac will finish the cosmic forge quest before Ogras and Catheya get back? With the new crafting skill Zac should be able to make vary good peak E-grade and even below average low D-grade weapons, but he will need to go through 2 or 3 more quests to be able to upgrade his ship to halfstep C-grade.

Lucas Gulick

The rumors of his demise might be greatly exaggerated, the peak family is pretty big on pretending to be dead and then showing up

Lucas Gulick

Tftc, appreciate you putting out chapters while under the weather

Tyler S.

Tyftc, and i hope you have a refreshing weekend TFD and that you can stay healthy.

Lorevi Q

Zac should annex some other worlds to fix the life/death imbalance lol. We know he's going to end up as emperor of zecia sooner or later anyway

Rabauke

Does someone know if he don't want to convert the imperials he killed or did I miss valsa (I think that's the name) and so on?

Lex Luther S

Doubt it after the way Perala spoke. The way kantajas' eyes were burning in rage and hatred, towards the kan'tanu and herself with her lacking strength; the only other way I see it is he's almost crippled but barely hanging on through Life support but his inner world is blighted and the lack of a healing tonic means his death is eventually certain. To which zacs treasure in the temple ruins could become a key boon. But as I said, unlikely.

Henry Wartemberg

Don’t listen to him Jeff! Get a brain transplant. Drink the blood of innocent. Do whatever is needed to get that chapter out ASAP

Stefan Muntean

"Still waiting on that Ogras movie." Ogras movie was a dud he forgot to film it 😂

Henry Wartemberg

1. I think it would be a bad idea. 2. He never got the bodies of Valsa or Yselio. Valsa was taken by her grandfather and he tried to sacrifice her to get the memories. He has there deathsworn though

Rabauke

1. Sure it would be a bad idea but also really cool. Like smoking as a teenager u know. 2. I remembered he got valsas body. Her grandfather only tried to snatch her sole for the memories but PV deleted a year or so

Henry Wartemberg

I actually doubt it was that hard of a fight for him. She was talented as hell but once he start whipping out his game changing tricks she would be done. I think that’s a difference between heavens Chosen and Eonic seeds

Lex Luther S

Valsas' body was basically dust after her father's attempt to bring her back didn't go as planned as he just wanted the memories but he does have the death sworn. About 8 of the bodies was usable, and Wright being one of them them, formerly the one named "Scar" because of the scar down one of his eyes. He had some planar pulse bloodline if memory serves right. As for Yselio, even if zac had somehow killed him and acquired his body, there's no way he would have turned him into a revanant for fear of karma leading back to the new revanant. And with scores of Autarchs and at least 2 Supremacies in Yselios heaven alone, there's no way they wouldn't be able to find the string of Fate leading to Yselio and in turn, earth.

Has anybody else experienced difficulty understanding this novel? Explanations have become so convoluted that it's becoming difficult. I do not find doing a pov of a character is a good way to explain things that happened. Like the pov of the void priestess that was a whole chapter just to say a couple of monarchs died, and the girl took the flame. And getting a confirmation that someone like Ultimate died like this in 2 lines, but getting a detailed-6 paragraphs-in-depth tutorial of how a random treasure that zack will use for .5 seconds, it's not the best use of a reader time.

Telewyn

I think it’ll be easier for readers who don’t have to wait between each installment. But also, I like this story for the detailed mechanical explanations of advancement and cultivation. Whereas Ultimate’s death is beyond Zac’s pay grade and only serves as window dressing to the political situation.

Anonymous

I really enjoy the detailed process of going through upgrades. Makes the progression feel meaty and satisfying.

Jay Fowler

Will someone remind me what the shipyard quest brings when he hits the upgrade button so to speak?

2024-01-13 02:45:27 A difficult problem with his foundation. Solving the issue between his undead citizens great start and the conflict the living need to grow to keep up. How can you marry the two? The way way is Zac's luck farts out a treasure from his butt that gives the living a similar opportunity. A bloodline treasure that refines all those around it? Even Zac to a small degree. You could even make it interesting by making it a being without blood that's just studying this aspect. A being neither dead nor alive could be quite intriguing concept for them. How does that come into his path?

Hey man, I've spent around $15,000 on audible over the last 10 years. I'm able to listen while I work, tho I still prefer reading when I have time. I have a very good memory for literature, even when I really like something, I rarely listen to it twice. For me to read something again, I have to like the writing style and flow, be inspired to wonder "what if?" And imagine things occurring in the world. A good example is Pierce Browns Red Rising series. I can listen to that over and over again. Your books have become part of a select few that I truly enjoy re reading/listening to. I even use them to relax to and fall asleep to sometimes. I'm not really a lit RPG guy. You really have something special here, don't change your writing style. Although my friend, I believe Zac having a quick accent through the D grade would be good for the series. Then feel free to write another 10 books through the C grade 😁. You really have a gift for writing fight scenes in this genre. I'm happy to see you getting back to that in earnest but I feel your rushing yourself a bit and are not quite hitting your full potential with that. Having said that, there were many very high quality fights since the perennial vastness. Keep that up and lean into it, you really have a gift for that and your writing really shines there. Let Zac rise through an incomprehensible tide of slaughter 😯. The world building of your cultivation system and the materials and power ups is truly first class and you have a really coherent system. Don't skimp on the visions and inspirations and explanations.... Your writing style possibly shines even more there than in the fight scenes. I've consumed allot of literature and your really doing something special here. It's not too wordy and it's not too complicated. Don't listen to that nonsense. I assure you that it's very high quality and coherent.

BLead

Right now it is an early D shipyard with early d vessels (though these early d vessels are equivalent to mid d). The upgrade to middle d will make middle d vessels that are equivalent to high D vessels.

Matthew Hay

Waiting for the movie, like a real-world adaptation of Ogras' movie as part of DotF media?

Darnell Maxwell

Nah I'm imagining a chapter where Ogras and Zac are somewhere between mid to peak Monarchs. They've finally decided it's time to leave this backwater sector. But before they go the Atwood Empire hosts a banquet. And after the food is served Ogras fires up a projector and reveals his magnum opus. I could even see Ogras making a drinking game. Where anytime Zac cringes, blusshes, covers his face, or "says that didn't happen! well it did but not like that!" everyone take a shot. Then at the end they have a good laugh until Ogras tells him he gave Kalrin about 10 million copies to sell. "They sold for 10 nexus coins each and we sold out in 10 minutes. I have my people making more copies now. They should release the sequels in a decade or two. At this rate I'm going to make more money than your shipyard!"

Timothy Dana

What upgrade is Earth about to go through? The one port Atwood got for faction credits or the quest Zac got at the end of the incursion?

Jacob Porter

Pleasestay healthy, slow down if you have to

Michael

“One quick seclusion should be fine." Yeah I’m sure this will work out

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Salvo

So I was thinking about Max’s death, chapter 1069. So he gets stabbed through the heart just when Zac shows up and floods him with Branch of the Kalpataru. Mind you, the description of the tree is it sometimes does miracles. I think this is why he’s different. Zac also did the secret exit on his life/death trial. The system is hinting at a way of defying the cycle of rebirth. His dao of life and his blood of a draugr, along with the kids consent mind you. Another thing that really bugs me, Kruta said regarding his ancestor summon skills, “am I a necromancer?!” Why not call on your own bodies ancestor?

Anonymous

plus there is a war ongoing. more planets mean more frontlines and he is already struggling with the current ones in addition to the two battlefronts he has to send troops to

Salvo

The easiest, fastest way to get fighters quickly is recruiting. So if Zac had the best schools, safest planets, better treasures offered at tournaments. Most have their cultivation stalled, even something that deals with that, like the Ultom chair, would make it the destination for the living.

Owen Kaz

because that would be his previous self, not his ancestor. His ancestors are also all dead, or at least the ones we've seen summoned were. His concept would also have to relate to time in some fashion in order to summon his previous self. Which is not his path.

Anomander Rake

I don’t remember anything on Ultimate’s death. Which chapter was it?

Kharas

1176. Its where kantaja is mentioned sitting beside the corpse of her husband. He was killed along a bunch of other monarchs in a fight with the kan'tanu pope.

Lex Luther S

Well, this is a story ultimately of Zacs' journey to supremacy. Certainly, we'll see other characters and their interactions with zac and his effects on the overall story of the Era of Unity and order, but it is still us following zac so it makes sense why we'd get more details pertaining to zacs cultivation and treasures than a random monarch only seen once when pretty was called back from the Million gates territory. Besides, Peralas' POV was to set in stone how absolutely BUSTED the pope of the kan'tanu is as well as show us that zacs actions and the chaos he sows has repercussions and effects. Yselio himself said even a Flamebearer isn't immune to paying the price for messing with the river of fate.

Anonymous

Then maybe it's a me things, since you guys love that. But just to clarify my point: We have pov's of people not related to Zac at all, extremely in detail. I'm not complaining of the story focusing on Zac, I love the story for that. What I say, is, maybe let's give a more detailed explanation of events in the world, since we already have 6 paragrahs explaining a treasure that we will never see again.

Lex Luther S

It'll also increase the production capacity, given going for early to middle D grade is a 10x energy difference; I imagine it'll be increased by 10x or so. Hopefully for all ships, including the Middle D grade ones as that would be a massive boon.

Amani

They made plans for the upgrade. If everything goes across to plan, I will be surprised.. Middle D grade!

Mike Naka

@TFD it would be awesome to get like half a chapter on the Monarch fight. I think the last one was from a ship's crew perspective when the Everfast Monarch fought that Kan'Tanu bird-thing Monarch. I think you kinda made a mistake just giving a synopsis of the battle between the Kan'Tanu Chapter Heads and the Zecia Monarchs. That's a consequential shift in the tide of the war. If you can, it'd be awesome to get a bit more on that battle. Ultimate is too important a character to just get a sentence or two about his death. Please consider a way to relay more of the battle- maybe Zac and Leyara can run into each other before the trial and her new persona has knowledge of the battle. Or maybe Zac can get more info from the Undead Empire. Maybe they were kinda keeping an eye on the area, just in case as a backup. I don't know. I just think we should know more about the battle and the sacrifices each Monarch and clan made. Sometimes, it's good to slow down and provide more detail, especially something of this importance. Just my 2 cents

Jacob

Another easy way, is that with the war "destroying" planets and empires, alot of powerful cultivators are becoming homeless. Zac could easily bring them into his empire to balance out the power dynamic.

Jacob

And don't forget the most important part...Zac's personal ship upgrade!

Kirin

True but i think the issue is there’s so much to expand on and he’s just one guy, and I’m not gonna lie, I crave zacs pov more than anyone seeing as his progresses the story in a way we actually fully understand… a random fight scene with strangers and skills we don’t fully get is a lot of work, it’ll have to be long enough to explain and set the atmosphere and give us the visual all in one… but since ultimate is some what of a weapons specialist his would be fairly easy since obviously his fight would be mainly technique based but the void priest and everyone is is mage type complex so that gonna be hard. Probably take about six chapter min, and i kinda cant stomach that big a side story right now… yup tdf defiantly needs a writing team…

Mike

Did i miss something? I do not remember what chapter the fight with the Pope was. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Bjarn

I also don't remember this, but I believe we got some snippets from the vigil POV where they fought the leader (before he was called the pope) and a lot of monarchs had died.

Darryl Williams

I completely disagree with this. That’s at least two chapters of not actually progressing the story. And Ultimate is not that important, he’s just the ruler of a section of Zecia that Zac is gonna conquer anyway, there’s a lot of those

Darryl Williams

Faction credits. The reward at the end of the incursions was a choice between 3 things, he didn’t choose the upgrade, he chose to relocate his empire

Hope we get an update on ol' Thwonkin' Billy soon

I thought you were going to say that rehauling should have been overhauling.

Jeffrey Worrall

It didn’t directly involve Zac so we Don’t see the fight first hand, the defeat is first mentioned by the void priestess a chapter or two ago.

Doubtful it'll be anytime soon. With Billy heading to that mountain likely located in the multiverse heartlands, he holds no importance to the current plot or story like ogras or catheya

It was mentioned in 1174 that with the Centurion spear destroying an important relay in the million gates territory, it caused a ripple effect that made the whole territory unstable, effectively stranding the Kan'Tanu in zecia, with the Alliance doing their best to capitalize on it. But the Kan'Tanu retaliated through the world's battlefronts. I figured they'd make the alliance bleed in their bid to capitalize on the advantage the Centurion spear gave them but I didn't think the pope and 4 of 7 chapter heads would be deployed to break the assault. Man's a monster Indeed.

Wonder how long the breakthrough to middle hegemony will go on for. Probably 2 chs at least. Going over the gains and methods used as well as what means he has to avoid the river of time coming to collect on his debts like a mobster.

Pickled Rick

looking forward to Peak D grade ships which he can unleash on the sector when it's finally time for him to become Emporer of Zecia.

Pickled Rick

FD is very aware that Zac spent a lot of time in E grade because of tangents and it limits the things that Zac can do when he stays at 1 grade for too long. To take control of Zecia he will need to be at least C grade so that his ship is powerful enough to traverse the Million Gate Territory to help his sister. If he wants her back he needs to be at least B grade. At 500 chapters per grade and about 4 chapters a week it would take 5 years for Zac to become B grade and he needs to be A grade before all the foreshadowing pays off.

Amani

I hope the breakthrough doesn't take long. These in-depth chapters are always slow and boring.

Snooze Bear

Agree. It feels like half the chapters are just breakthroughs at this point. It loses its meaning after a while.

Why does it feel like you skipped writing a couple of chapters? Did the whole thing with the “pope” appearing and killing a bunch of monarchs (including ultimate) just happen off screen in between chapters? Why would you tell us ultimate was defeated with no context in a single sentence from a side character? Story is starting to feel really rushed. This whole war arc has been pretty rough writing so far except for a few cool interactions

“He also had to play the roles of the Atwood Empire's tyrannical emperors” Tyrannical? No. tyr·an·ny noun cruel and oppressive government or rule. "people who survive war and escape tyranny" a nation under cruel and oppressive government. cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control.

Jeff McCulley

It just reflected a change in the war’s momentum, and had nothing to do with the story’s primary or secondary (or tertiary) characters. A huge page after page battle would have done nothing to advance the plot, and only delayed the narrative. We’re just getting a dash of backstory for context.
