Big Autumn Update! (Patreon)
Content
Hey all! Don't worry, this is not a post extending the break into October. Things have been silent here on Patreon, but I haven't (only) spent my time off playing video games and reading. So some updates are in order.
First of all, yes, I'm resuming releases on Oct 2!
October will have 3 editing days as usual, though I unfortunately can't say when because I'm out of the country the 3rd-11th. I've already resumed writing to ensure I have content to post, but some days might see multiple releases and others none. I'll try to keep everyone updated as I go during my trip.
Now to the fun stuff.
Defiance of the Fall is getting a Webcomic!
I've been looking into various options for a DotF adaptation for the better part of a year, and I can finally share some things with you guys. I'm going to be working with my publisher, Aethon Books, and Laurel Pursuit to bring the story to this new format. It's too early to share any artwork or further details, but I am incredibly happy with the team put together for this project.
An adaptation is a huge undertaking but our goal is to hit the ground running, so I'll hopefully be able to share some cool stuff with my patrons over the coming months. If you're interested in who Laurel Pursuit are and what's else is cooking, then you can check out the full article on Comicsbeat.
Don't be surprised if you see a few more familiar names there.
Defiance of the Fall is getting a new look!
I don't have any comic artwork to share just yet, but I do have some other stuff. The sharp-eyed readers may already have noticed it, but we are in the process of giving the books new covers.
The idea is to give the story some fresh top-of-the-line artwork, while also making the covers slightly more canonically accurate. Getting it 100% right is impossible since some things don't translate well, but I'm very happy with what we have so far.
We're working our way through the books one by one, and the scene doesn't have to be the same as the old covers. So if you remember a scene you think would make a great book cover, share it below! For now, take a look at the two covers that are done so far.
See you guys in October!
