Hey guys!


I've been doing my best to finish up Hypnosis to get it out before the year-end, but it's almost 6 am so I'm going to have to call it quits for the night.

I'll upload whatever I have tomorrow to get it out for this year because you've been more than patient. 

Whatever you do for New Years Eve, I hope you have a great one!

Shit. I have friends picking me up in ten minutes for New Year's Eve and I still have several errors that need to be fixed. Once I fix those I'll try to put up a rough version tomorrow.

Patreon is great, it works really well. But there are so many creators here that just string you along. Saying it will be out at some point, but when the time comes for a release nothing happens. And the first time that happens you think, that's all right, it's not so easy to keep to deadlines, but the 20th time it's starting to get really annoying. But at the same time it's important to show that there are some progress and that a new version is coming out, but all the missed deadlines and radio silence after they have been missed is really frustrating. It happens all over patreon, but maybe it would be better to just have a progress bar, an easy to update one so it can be done with some frequency. At least we will have some indication with less frustration because nothing comes out, and the bugs or problems that was hopefully fixed fast but ended up taking much longer because of course it's difficult to fix them, and almost impossible to know how long it would take, but at least maybe we would know that 135/155 known problema have been fixed. Or that the list now have been expanded to 135/170 known problems. Which would give an indication that the update isn't coming out in the next hour at least (if it's updated with some regularity)

I know what you were referring to. Thats why i support Summertime Saga. They do have reguar progress bars and live streams where you can follow the work. What i can only assume is that expanding universe has a lot of work to do right now and in between the holydays it can be a bit tight with planning everything.

Not to be the "that guy" but he should have learned by now not to give estimates if he isn't 110% sure (and even then, just don't). That he keeps promising and then going quiet is what puts peoples noses out of joint. If he instead went for example with percentage values, one could glance the progress state, while not getting hopes up on a specific date. As Tryn3 mentions, this is such a widespread issue on Patreon, so one can't do much else then go "right, so he is one of those developers". I just wish some of them would take steps to stop doing it. With that said, I love the work he puts out, I just wish he stuck to his word and stopped giving bad estimates.

Yep. I know it's been a busy year for him with lots of things happening, both foreseen and unforeseen. But it's so annoying when you hear "any day" for months rather than just "currently have ~90% writing done, still have half the renders left and haven't done any bugtesting". I remember a comment he made in mid November where he gave a small Halloween bit and said he'd have this Broken Watch soon. Commenter said "so like, December?" And he said he didn't think so. Well now it's January and it's been so many "this week, promise" I don't expect perfect estimates, I don't expect an update every month like we had at the start. I just want halfway accurate predictions.
