JUNE UPDATE (Patreon)

Hi everyone. I feel like I'm overdue for an update. So, here one is.

Up above you can see thumbnails of all the pages of Champion that I drew in May (I've done 8 or 9 more since June started). So, when will the comic actually be out and available to read? Well, unfortunately I'm not sure yet. As I mentioned last month, I'm applying to become a member of the Hiveworks comics collective. I'm submitting both The Vapors and Champion for consideration. The thing is, Hiveworks is very insistent on a regular X-pages-per-week update schedule, rather than the just-release-it-all-at-once schedule I've been using. So the release schedule for Champion (and/or Vapors) will depend on whether I'm accepted to Hiveworks. The submission deadline is June 15th and after that I'll have to wait for the result (fortunately they do promise a response even if I'm not accepted). So even though the comic is well on its way to being completed, I may have to sit on the finished comic while I wait for the Hiveworks response. In the long run this is okay since I'll be working on new pages while I wait for the response anyway, but in the short term it does mean Champion might not be out until July or even August.

If I AM accepted, then Champion and/or Vapors 3 should start coming out fairly soon afterwards, probably on a 2-pages-per-week schedule. If I'm not accepted, then I may just release Champion all at once. On the other hand, since a regular weekly update schedule seems to be the preferred business model for basically every webcomic in existence, I might start doing it that way even if I don't get accepted. I haven't decided yet.

So that's what's going on behind the scenes, business-wise. On a more personal note, my buddy and fellow Pro Crastinator Digibro decided to interview me to get me to talk more about my life and my feelings and my artistic process and stuff.
