Well gang it's taken me this long but I've finally got something to show for it. Attached below you'll find the alpha build of the so-called Mysterious Construction: PHANTOM'S REVENGE, which will soon be the TRUE and HONEST finale to Slime & Punishment.

As you'll see, the version attached is not finished. It's got minimal cutscenes and dialogue and uses dummy assets for enemies and other stuff. There's a lot I want to add to it before the final version; you won't get much of the actual story here. But, it's a playable game that you can play through and beat. Or can you? I designed it to be hard. Unfairly hard, maybe. I'm curious if anyone can actually beat it. I think it'll just take a bit of perseverance.

Anyway, as it's an incomplete build, it may have bugs, so if you find any please let me know so i can squash them. I'd like to hear if you think it's too easy, too hard, your thoughts on the graphics, the mechanics, whatever, tell me what you think of it so far! As promised I will do a Q&A podcast on here before too long responding to your comments about the demo.

One final note, there is a credits screen in the game's menu where I thank all of you! Thank you again for supporting me in silly endeavors like this game. If I missed anyone, make sure to yell at me. I'll be sure to update the credits again before the final release.

That's all for now... have fun!

-Ben <3

Edit: I guess I'll add notes about bugs that you might want to look out for down here. A few people have reported that the game essentially softlocks if you run out of slime and items as you can't do anything. I'll add an auto-death state when this happens soon, for now just consider it a loss and use the restart option in the pause menu.

The game was pretty bussin. It was certainly hard, and that was what you were aiming for, but perhaps narrowly too hard? Until recently, I thought there was only one way to beat it after all. Beyond that, I am excited to see what's to come from ya. Is there a release time frame you have planned or a goal in that regard? Any plans after the game+lecture? I am interested in supporting the next Ben-based Kickstarter since you're doing cool stuff and I missed out on all the previous ones. I find this the case as well since R*dc*n 4 has been... floundering I guess. I'm going to be getting into the wage cage this summer and for the foreseeable future so I'll be much more willing to financially contribute to any projects. -Sean
