uhh.. is it supposed to say trial instead of "trail"? as for showing skills? up to you. if you can turn it into a dilemma/conflict then it might be worth it. I guess it boils down to whether or not she will have another opportunity to acquire the skills in the future or if the number of skills are finite. for example, the plant combustion skill. blair mentioned that she thought it was a waste, because she probably could have figured out how to do it on her own if she had just waited. maybe she can use this lesson to in the future, prioritize skills that she can only get as skills at that moment (like the frictionless slide) and view the skills that she didn't choose as routes for potential future developments it would be cool. for example, vine manipulation. she already realized via the plant combustion that her plants are full of her mana. she can probably figure out a way to manipulate the plants eventually. that aside, it could also be possible that the number of skills she can acquire is finite and doesn't know it yet, and every skill she acquires is another skill less that she will get in her lifetime. in that case trivializing it might also not be the best idea. I don't have any good arguments in favor of removing the skills other than the one she chooses, other than 'some people might find it boring' and there is less things to keep track of. blair isn't the smartest cookie anyways, so as long as you don't draw out the decision making process by over explaining; it shouldn't be a problem.

it is supposed to say trial, sad. Thank you for the feedback regarding the skills, I appreciate it

I agree with what someone else has said, maintain the skills options and discussion but make them more impactful to the progression/story. For example having less regular but more meaningful skill choices/upgrades. Make every skill gained a change in her battle style, or a dilemma where she gains something but loses something else. Maybe skills start changing her in ways she doesn’t want, or maybe the skills are all really cool, but she won’t get the chance to get them again. This will not only make her skills easier to keep track of (an issue many litrpgs have), but will make any skill gain an event people will look forward to and want to read and get to. On top of this, as far as I can tell this is the route most popular litrpg web novels go down, so something about it must work.
