  • What is a Normal Map?
    A normal map is part of the Texture set of a modern game character. Its rather silly sounding name derives from what a normal is in geometry, which is a vector perpendicular to a surface which indicates this said surface's direction.
    In more simple words, it's this: Wikipedia
    The use of this texture is to give meshes with simple geometry more fake-3D details to work with the lighting of the scene.

    Usually, games will include a normal map for the body (skin) as well, like The Sims 3, but not The Sims 4. Since this has always bothered me, and my friend JWofles also, we tried to create at least a skin detail to use for screenshots. And we did it!
  • Usage of this Mod;
    This is a Scar skin detail, therefore it might not work if you don't own Get Famous Expansion Pack or Vampires Game Pack. It is advised for screenshots only and not regular gameplay since there's some slight clipping with skin-tight Maxis clothing, but you're obviously free to do whatever you want with it! This mod is meant to be used for the Male Maxis Muscle Skin Detail, it will work with custom skin tones and skin textures but the muscles might be misaligned;

Share your screenshots with me and Jwofles using the mod, we're curious to see how you guys are going to use it! Happy Simming!

After going through all my CC which has taken hours I have found the culprit cc - jwofles_phased-jumper, quite ironic really, after removing this it now shows up.

Honest feedback, I truly like the idea of this. My graphic are sent to high on everything. First, it kind of makes me sims stomach look dirty. I do love how it brings more details to my sims muscles but it also mess up the clothing I have on my sims. It's pixelate the clothing or it start clipping. When in game playing, I feel like it looks unrealistic and looks little too shiny.

Hey danny, all absolutely valid feedbacks! I made this specifically for clothes-less screenshots, that's why i specified it's advised for screenshots and also specified it will clip with skin tight clothing. Sadly it's the only way this is possible to do! We can't edit the Sim Skin shader itself :c

Do you have plan to release a top version so we can use it on shirtless outfit without it clipping on others?
