The actress - Shin Hye Sun - is one of my favourites! I love a lot of the dramas she's acted in. Btw Josh, just wanna say I've been watching k-dramas since 2009, and I STILL get confused with the names. I feel you guys, it's a lot of people. One thing that helped me is knowing that there are two main families fighting for power — The Kim's and The Jo's. Mr Queen (our main girl) is a Kim, and Hwa Jin (the concubine) is a Jo. There's also the Kings people - his older brother and his friend. This is really the case in most historical Kdramas, there's a lot of people involved or plays a role. In this drama, be prepare to write down because more people will come. I'll help you with some of the most important roles here. Idk why the subs are not picking up the real translation but use this as a guide. Jang Bong Hwan - the man in the beginning, who is now inside of So Yong Queen Cheorin aka Kim So Yong - our main character HongYeon - assistant or right hand of So Yong Court Lady Choi - the older assistant of So Yong King Cheoljong - the King Prince Youngpyeong - step brother/bestfriend of King Special Director Hong - bestfriend of King Andong Kim clan (So Yong's family) Grand Queen Empress Dowager - the old lady who is currently higher than the King Kim Jwa-Geun - brother of Grand Queen Kim Mun-Geun - younger brother of the Grand Queen and Jwa-Geun also the father of So Yong. Kim Byeong-In - son of Jwa-Geun Kim Hwan - cousin of So Yong Poongyang Jo Clan (Jo Hwa Jin's relatives) Jo Hwa-Jin aka Lady Uibin - the concubine or other woman of the King Queen Dowager Jo - the other Queen who always use talismans and Shamanism. If you read the subtitles earlier the King and his 2 besties are looking for a ledger, it contains all the corrupt work of Andong Kim Clan. They were plotting something and of course that's a secret. That's why they panicked to see when the Queen entered their secret meeting. The fact that the royalties aren't allowed to just leave the palace in secret especially at night is suspicious...so the King thought the Queen knows something and followed them. (We all know the Queen went there to flirt and satistfy the man inside him lol...) And if you've observed, the King inside the palace is pretending to be useless and stupid (such as just reading 19+ books or reading upside down) but, you see when they're in the "bar", his conversation with his 2 besties are full of knowledge and strategy. Meaning the written history was wrong. He was not just a dumb King and you'll see more on the next episodes. And yesss, Andong Kim and Poonyang Jo clans are real... King Cheoljong is real, but, the things that happened in this drama are NOT REAL. Let's just say that there is a parallel version of their world that exists and it is this K-drama. That's why it's still fictional. If there are grammar error please forgive me, English is not my first language.

Just started watching this- so late to the party. Not sure how I'm feeling about thus one so far so we'll see. I just noticed that the king was the con artist in crash landing and that the main lady in waiting is one of the village ladies from there.
