Eren is not my favorite character at all, but in this moment I think you are being too harsh on him. It's not about his mom being eaten and being angry anymore. He literally just (like 5 minutes ago in their time) found out his dad was a titan and then ate his friends sister on purpose and then he purposely killed a bunch of children. He went to that chapel to kill the Reiss family for their power. Then he injected Eren with titan serum which caused Eren to eat his own father. He thinks his dad is a murderer who did this to give Eren power and because of this all of his comrades have sacrificed their lives for nothing. I'm surprised he is handling it as well as he is. Also the serum is titan spinal fluid that needs to be injected into the blood stream. Remember what happened with Ymir when she became a titan. It turns you into a mindless one, and then if you eat someone with the power of one of the big titans you turn into that big titan. If you notice Rod has blood coming from his mouth from when Kenny had his knife in there. When he licked the spinal fluid it was able to go into his blood stream immediately.

His dad literally killed Historia’s siblings who were innocent kids and even her oldest sister was just a teenager for the titan power. It’s not like he accidentally ate her like Ymir did with Reiner and Barthold’s friend, Eren’s dad literally planned to attack them and Eren literally witnessed it in first person through the memories. He hates titans so fucking much that to him it doesn’t matter if he himself doesn’t kill off the titans, as long as they’re gone he’s willing to die for it. I think that’s what you don’t get about his character. It’s not about just killing the titans himself out of anger, he loathes them and if he thinks his death will be the end of them then he wouldn’t have a hesitation. I never liked his character as much compared to characters in here or other protagonists because his hatred of titans was never a noble goal. He didn’t hate titans and fight them for the good of people, but it’s almost a personal vendetta to get rid of them. But I can understand his character because there are a lot of people who turn out this way in these kinds of circumstances. You’re saying everyone has experienced the same shit, but they haven’t. No one else is 15 and has the ability to turn into a titan and has to fight these extremely powerful titans with everyone relying on them. He’s not some OP character who’s automatically better at fighting and is stronger than the other titans or people, his skill level is the same as all the other cadets but his enemies have so much more experience and skill compared to him. The reality is that right now he’s just not as powerful as everyone who keeps kidnapping him and that he has to fight, it’s a miracle that’s he’s even surviving because I don’t think any of the other characters would be able to “do something” either. He’s not a superhero who’s been training for this his entire life he’s been a titan for such a short amount of time with zero information about anything (until now, this episode).
