Lee wan-ik, is a 'real name' of famous traitor in Korea history. I remembered that I had to memorize the traitors' name in history textbook in my school days. He was described much more brutal and cunning in the real history documents(called Annals of the Joseon Dynasty).

I appreciated the illustration of just how powerless the King’s government was in the scene with the curfew guard. An American and a Japanese soldier are standing there when the Korean curfew guard reminds them of the time. They just stare at him. What can he do to them, so he just walks off. At this point people of Korea are doing what they can (many heroically)as individuals regardless of their position in social hierarchy, but they all know that they are in a hopeless position. They have just made up their minds,including the King, to do what they can for as long as they can. I especially love those young men who Eugene is training. I can’t help but root for them because they didn’t give up. I loved Eugene’s commander ordering him home because he knew if Eugene stayed there, he wouldn’t give up either. It’s heartbreaking knowing what they are all up against.
