Yes josh there will be new characters. 😉 This episode basically told you already but yeah, ryuk was laughing because he could already see naomi's TRUE identity and knew she was lying. Light is extremely good at manipulating other people. He knew naomi was in a vulnerable position after just losing her husband and the moment she brought up the fact that L and light seemed similar gave her a sense of comfort and he immediately latched on and played her. I remember this death scene so well.. it gave me goosebumps. The way the music slowly stops, the snow starts falling, the slow reveal and look up. Everything is so eerily quiet, it's perfect. The Japanese voice actor for light is mamoru miyano. You wouldn't recognize his voice from anything you've watched so far.

Omg yesssss, I remember this death scene well as well because of how sad and eerie is was. Also the Voice Actor does a great job doing Lights Voice and in this episode especially you can hear how the Voice Actor changes Lights Voice when Light talks to her. His Voice sounds more cheery and more “sweet” and his Voice sounds like it’s at a slightly higher pitch then his usual Voice. While when he’s having his inner monologues and thinking his Voice sounds more sinister and deeper. It shows you how manipulative and two faced Light is. The Voice Actor, Mamoru Miyano, does a great job at showing that and is a great Voice Actor.

Light is a fantastic character. Very intriguing so I can see what cait means when she says she likes him. Like others have said, Mamoru Miyano is an amazing voice actor. I think the only thing you've heard him in is Demon Slayer season 2. He was the demon with the light hair who met Daki and Gyuutaro as they were dying. He did win an award for best voice actor as the role of Light. He also sings and has a few albums on spotify.
