i am SO glad you both are reacting to death note now, i've only ever watched the subbed version and i know light's voice actor is super popular, so if you'd also like to watch the dubbed version that's cool too! it's crazy, i was obsessed with this manga and anime when i was like 13 so to come back to this as someone in my 20s now with you guys is going to be interesting. i promise this one will be a wild ride, i even wrote about this series in an ethics essays years ago, that's how much i loved it 😭😭 there's lots of religious imagery for sure, lots of iconic moments and characters, and the art style of the manga is another thing i fell in love with too. excited to know your theories as the episodes go by and i hope you guys enjoy it! such a good point about the rotten apples too, cait!

I like Death Note for lots of reasons. My top reason is because of episode 1. When you see some main characters, you got Deku wanting to be a hero, Tanijro wanting to save Nezuko, Eren wanting to avenge his mother, all such noble causes. Then you got Light, a psycho who wants to become a God and proceeds to killing people with a notebook. Looool its insane
