Yay Haikyuu! I just got into this series last year and I regretted I didn't read the manga or watch the anime earlier...it's just sooo gooood :')

I don't know if this will look overdramatic to people who didn't play sports in school, but this portrayed my experience very well. We have interschool competitions starting from elementary to High School in Singapore just like Japan, school clubs are compulsory and I've trained in Badminton from kindergarten till High School. That's over 14 years. This includes 14 years of intense training, we have 5-7 training sessions every week, 3 hours each, filled with agonizing amounts of physical/skill training. No one can be lazy there with professional coaches watching. My school was known for our Badminton team, our coach being an Olympic champion in the 90s, we have over 100+ members and only 7 make it to the real 'school team' for competitions. I was one of them, I played the girl's singles. Our school was one of the strongest participants in Badminton, we won national championships each and every year. Haikyuu did a very good job portraying what these competitions look like, it's usually held in multiple schools depending on the draws and all school teams will join in survival competitions. The competitions are mapped with North, East, South and West. The 4 winning teams from each area will then participate in the National Competitions, where the 16 strongest teams across the nation compete until the last team standing. The strong teams take these competitions very seriously, each school have aces and those who are very famous in their positions on the court. We research our opponents, their strengths and weaknesses before facing them. These matches are very intense especially in the National competition. There was once where I played for over an hour for a single match, ducing to 30 points in badminton, I almost vomited after my match. I still remember every team was done with their match and stayed back to watch ours (Its a common practice because you can find out other schools' abilities before facing them), my court was surrounded by 30-40 people, and people were watching from the second floor too. Worse, that competition was held in our opponent's school, they had over 100 people in the hall cheering for them (classes stayed back to cheer for their school team), while we only had 10+ on our side, it was nerve-wracking haha. I ended up losing by 1 point, I bawled my eyes out crying all the way till I got home, the juniors bought me bubble tea and my coach comforted me. Good thing is that our school still won as a whole. The whole anime really makes me remember my competition days. There is one I like even more, its very famous as well, called 'Kuroko no Basket' that takes about Basketball. Its a classic and a must watch, its the kind of anime that you'll really go crazy for. Really hope you guys can react to it soon
