Muzan is above the ranking. He's the king so there is an upper rank 1. Personally out of the upper 6, Akaza is my favorite along with upper rank 1.

the first scene was in the past, specifically in Edo Era (it was captioned). It was just to show that the demon had been in Yoshiwara for a looooong time - which ties up to the story told by the current Madam that fell down "2 days ago". Also, Zenitsu can hear the "sound" of living things. If you can remember, he knew that the box Tanjiro had been carrying around has a demon inside,even before seeing nezuko. So yes, he can hear the demons alright. Finally, yes, Daki masquerading among humans might throw you off given the demons we encountered so far. but remember that Muzan has done the same -He was a father in MJ form and an adopted child in another. You're correct that she has unlimited supply of people this way, tho it will be explained in later episodes her other reasons why she's in this District. P.S.
