I don’t think they necessarily believe taek is dumb it’s more to do with the fact that he’s really really smart but can’t do everyday life stuff. He finds really simple things difficult to do, like use chopsticks and button his shirt or think of simple solutions like with the Cassette player even in the last episode not being able to open his yoghurt but when given a rubik cube he managed to solve it in a short period of time. For example look at namjoon lol he has such a high IQ but he himself believes he’s kinda behind when it comes to everyday things that are simple to do. I’ve heard a lot about people who are smart not being able to do everyday little things. The kids who are friends with him have probably only seen him be his dumb cute self not being able to do simple things but have not seen him actually play, I think it’s nice to point out that he’s just a dumb cute little brother to them all whilst the rest of the world idolises him. Imagine if taek didn’t have his childhood friends, being so popular and playing a game so competitive and so lonely most of the time would just be really sad and isolating.

The whole highlight of these Reply series is for the audiences to guess who is the husband:) Reply 1994 is my favorite series, so definitely watch that too if you have interest!

Choi Taek, the go-game player reminds me of Namjoon.. lol A Genius known to the world, respected by all of his peers .. but a clumsy BABY to his brothers/friends
