"Sashimi" is the term used for the Japanese delicacy consisting of fresh raw fish or meat sliced into thin pieces and often eaten with soy sauce and wasabi. The more common fishes used for 'sashimi' are usually Salmon & Tuna. My favourite is the 'Salmon Sashimi'. "Wasabi" is not the spicy that burns your tongue. It's the spicy that shoots through your nose if you put a lot of it. But you won't feel it if you dip it little by little, especially when mixed with soy sauce. Koreans do use other fishes to make 'sashimi' like the boys using the Flatfish. The Japanese usually dip the raw fish in soy sauce but Koreans usually dip it with the sweet and spicy 'chojang' sauce. Over here, the boys used the raw 'Flatfish Sashimi' to make 'Sushi' where the fish is placed on top of vinegar rice. The sushi rice is usually made using short grained rice and combining rice vinegar, oil, sugar and salt in it.

"Doenjang" - this Korean paste is made out of soybeans and is brown in color. If you are looking for a comparison, then think of miso in Japanese cuisine. The distinguishing characteristic of doenjang is that it has a bolder, more savoury and rustic taste when compared to miso. This soybean paste is often used to enrich the flavour of soups, season vegetables and meat, spice up rice, or mix with other Korean pastes. "Gochujang" - Those who prefer to add some spiciness and a little bit of sweetness to their meals will like 'Gochujang'. This pepper-based Korean paste just has the right level of spiciness – not too mild, not too overwhelming. Marinades, dips, soups, meat, stews, rice and other Korean food get a notch in terms of delectability when you put in spoonfuls of gochujang. Bibimbap, which is considered the national rice dish of Korea, often has gochujang. "Ssamjang" - this is basically 'Gochujang' and 'Doenjang' combined, with some sesame, garlic and other ingredients in between that just make it have that texture that is almost similar to that of a peanut butter. This sauce is a great dip for your meats and vegetables.

Wasabi is whole other level of spicy. You are so right it's not the spicy for your tongue it's the kind that goes through your nose. I love spicy but I'm not a wasabi person.😂 If anyone was to try spicy pepper omg ghost pepper is crazy.

Jimin was sitting on the floor of the boat, jin was on a seat. And they were trying to turn, that's why they were only paddling on one side.

When Tae and Jimin sang Young forever, it reminded me of myself when I was a kid like when my fave part comes, i sing in a loud voice. I think i replayed that scene several times and it is just soooo funny plus Hobi's laugh is so contagious. The one that Jin, Hobi and JK played the flogging game actually it's how it was before especially during the Joseon dynasty. The way Hobi answered Jin was how it supposed to sound before.

Wasabi has strong anti-bacterial agents and fights against some of the bacteria from raw fish... so it's always served when having sashimi. If you don't like raw fish, you can also try sushi maki/ sushi rolls - some of those dishes are served without the raw fish like the famous california roll. Try them! You guys might actually like it!

I'm finally catching up with your latest "In The Soop" reactions! I agree with you that Jin and Jungkook are a wholesome duo. They are really supportive towards each other and just really match well. I love their bond truly. Jimin in the boat was so cute, I reacted the same way as you. His build is a little bit smaller (his legs are long tho) so when he sits, he does seem a lot smaller than others. He talked about this in the Memories 2019 DVD, how he had to sit on his legs during the MMA2019 Dionysus performance so he could reach the table. However, in this case Jimin was also sitting lower than the two others in the canoe which made him appear much tinier. I don't know if you realised, but vmin sang "Young Forever" which means even more if you think about the fact that Jimin got "Young Forever" (a few months before that, begin 2020) inked on his elbows. It really has a special meaning to him, and I loved how enthousiastic he and Tae sang it.

As always, LOVE your reaction and I love that you are really enjoying Jin and Suga in these episodes. Just an FYI, the translation uses sashimi, which is more well-known in the culinary world. But if you listen to the BTS members, they are actually say Hoe/Hwe (회), which can refer to a variety of raw food in the Korean cuisine, in this case fish. Sashimi is a Japanese delicacy of eating raw fish (or meat, like Italian Beef Carpaccio). Sushi (Japanese) can be used to refer to any dish with vinegar rice. What Jin and Jungkook made is Nigiri Sushi but with the Korean Hoe/Hwe way of filleting the raw fish. In my humble opinion, there are interesting Korean raw seafood dishes that makes you think of sashimi but also ceviche too sometimes. Thank you for always asking these questions.
