KIKI

God I cried my eyes out watching the show and Taes death scene. The show is very good and it was one of the first k dramas I’ve ever watched.K dramas are different from American dramas ofcouse and Koreans have different humor. So it was different for me but the show was really good and it had so many twist and turns too. I think if you can you should check it out, not as a reaction but just in your own time.Bc it’s really good💜

I'm so excited that you're watching this! I loved Hwarang so much! 💜

AndreaDre

OMG Thank you guys for the shoutout! I was so excited I watched it with my mom 😅she was a bit confused but amused lol. Im so Happy:) Thank you for the reaction and for bringing me and many armys so much JOY💜 You're spoiling us today ^^ the future came so fast! lol

omg yess! What are the odds of you posting this just a few days after I finally finished watching this drama. I’ve been an army for 2 years now but just got around to it. I’m soooo glad I watched it, Tae was so good in this drama.

natasha richardson

Taehyungie is an amazing actor hes also good friends with alot of the other actors from the drama the drama as a whole is really good too. funny heartfelt sad so many good things I show it to friends who have never watched k dramas before its a great introduction to them and seojoon the guy in the scene that was carrying him is on of the best actors ever and hes a great human being too💜

Lenny Merlenna

Watch it! Watch this show.. it’s so good.. not just for the fact that Tae is in it.. but the main cast are still friends til today.. if you’ve seen the pic Tae posted during vacation on the boat, he was with some of the guys in this show.. the character that he saved in this how is his good friend in real life now. Even after the death scene, keep watching cos the storyline is really riveting.. mainly is about the era of Korea’s historical past where a group of warriors called Hwarangs lived.. part fiction, part legend.. it’s a nice story overall.. it’s one of the shows that got me hooked to k dramas too..

polecatter

I was kinda hoping you wouldn't react to this cuz it's a big spoiler to the drama, but it's too late I guess lol. Hwarang (pronounced hoo-wah-rang) is a fantastic drama about a commoner trying to avenge his friend who got killed by some royal guards. It's action packed, an intense mystery, a love story, and even funny at times. It would be cool to watch it again with you two. There is a website/app called Viki where you can watch alot of Asian movies and dramas internationally, and they have Hwarang to watch for free (with ads, it's like $6 for a subscription). Tae's character doesn't die till very late in the series, so for the most part you can enjoy his acting and interaction with the other actors. He's only a side character, but I still think it's worth the watch. It's only like 20-22 episodes if I remember correctly.

Anonymous

Please react to Hwarang! Tae is a side character so he isn´t in every scene but I liked the series for the plot and the other characters as well. If you are at all interested in checking out a K-drama, please watch it! :)

KIKI

Idk if you guys watch bts vlogs when they went on vacation. But the actor that was caring tae in his death scene is the same guy who was in Taes vacation vlog. His name is park seojoon and they are really good friends. If you guys have seen it then you could remember he is the guy siting in the front left inside the car, and the guy exercising.

Rodica Ogmar

Tae had more scenes in the drama, i don't know why they didn't show those.. but he was really great in the drama, I already love the drama but I loved it even more when they announced the tae tae was one of the cast!💜 ohh their drama interviews was really great too, i'd be great if you guys can watch those too, I'll look for the link, i just love tae's interaction with the other actors. FYI the actor that was carrying tae in the death scene was also in tae tae's recent VLOG he was the guy in the front passenger side of the car and also the guy who was exercising in his VLOG lol

The show is good I actually really enjoyed it! I started watching it specifically for Tae lol. Tae isn't the main main character so obviously he isn't in every scene but even when he wasn't I still enjoyed it very much. It takes place in a time in he past. idk the time frame or the history behind it really so maybe someone else can explain that. But they are training to all be top warriors in their kingdom basically. And yes you're right, Tae's brother was supposed to kill the other character (im sorry I cant remember names its been a while since I watched it) with the sword that had poison on it. But its both like a comedy and romance and action all in one. Tae's character was so cute and funny. I know this wasn't a good description but hopefully it kind of gives you an idea. . And Tae is still really good friends with a lot of the characters, especially Park SeoJoon, who was the character that Tae saved in the death scene! That is actually who he was with in his recent vlog when they were on the boat and working out during their break.

essi

I've watched all of Hwarang and Tae is amazing in it. There are waaay more moments than just these and it helps to understand what's happening in the scenes to really see how well he does. K-drama is a different style to American and other dramas, but I can't really say much about that because Hwarang is the only one I've watched. But I can say the characters in Hwarang are great and I was hooked into their stories right from the beginning.

Criza

Taehyung's character should be alive altroughout the series but they have to kill his character because BTS was going on world tour and it's getting hard to manage Taehyung's schedule.

Anonymous

oh also I would add that If you do watch it it doesn't have to be something that you would have to react to. I mean if you want to then im ALL FOR THAT because I loved it but like I said Tae isn't always in it. So your call. But in your free time its a good show to watch. Honestly after I watched that is when I really started to research more about the culture and learn different Korean celebrities like the actors and actresses so it opened me up to a whole. new world.

Ashlee

Omg this was such a great surprise!! I watched hawarang as it was airing and the ep with his death made me cry SO much. I wish they added in the scene where the character who was holding Tae carries him all the way to the other Hwarangs and they all mourn over him. Tae's character "Hansung" is like the cheerful baby of the Hwarangs so it hits them all hard when he dies. Anyways, i think y'all would enjoy the drama! There are a lot of other Tae scenes that werent even added in this compilation ♡ ((also fun fact!!: the guy who plays the one that was carrying tae and crying over is one of Tae's best friends in real life!! They became friends through the drama. Tae is also friends with some of the other cast members as well. That's why jimin is always teasing him about being with his "hwarang hyungs" lol get it now??))

I was really excited when I heard that tae would be in a kdrama, he is a really amazing actor and I hope he gets to be on another kdrama in the future. Can u please react to bts new yang nam show eng subs?

Anonymous

If you can please react to BTS in Knowing Brother or BTS on Star Show 360, Jin and Jimin in Please take care of my fridge and Hello Counsellor and BTS Grammy museum interview.

Lily Wrenn

Hwarang was my first K-Drama and it hooked me for life! Tae was amazing in it and the story was so good also. I'm glad you checked out his acting skills. I look forward to seeing him in more dramas down the line as I am sure that one won't be his last. V plays the youngest member of a group of young men chosen by the Queen to represent her. His character's name was Han Sung. The character was forced to learn fighting skills as he was the grandson chosen to inherit his grandfathers legacy. But he was a lover and a poet and had no desire to battle and I fell in love with Han Sung because he was so funny and innocent. By the time he died, I had forgotten he was Tae. That's how good the acting was. The story is loosely based on the "Flowering Knights" who were an elite group of warriors in an area of Korea known then as Silla. They were chosen for their beauty and fighting ability and the Queen wanted to have the most beautiful young men in the group since she felt they were a reflection of her. The drama is funny, and heart wrenching sometimes in the same episode and it ruined me for American dramas and did get me hooked on Asian dramas. Hwarang and one called Goblin: The Great and Powerful god are two of my most favorite and I never get tired of either.

lol josh's reaction to tae's angry scene was so hilarious. ya'll were completely blown away.

I just watched the cut scenes of Tae from each episodes and cried hard when he died. His character fitted him so well. But you know what? You know the reactions of J-Hope and JK when they saw the death scene? They LAUGHED!!! Taehyung was sleeping nearby. Filming this drama was an hard time for Taehyung because he was the first member to act and he was so worried that if he didn’t do well, people would think that, BTS is just Kpop idols that couldn’t act, which put himself into much pressure. He cried with Jimin. All the six members told him that, they couldn’t solve it with him but he had their back. They will support him and they are always by his side. This was from Burn The Stage if I remember correctly. Fortunately, Tae did well. All the Hwarang actors loved him so much and praised his acting and hard work. One actor said first time he knew that one character is to be played by a member from a boyband, he thought Tae cannot act since he is a singer, but then he was impressed by Tae’s hard work and praised him many times in interviews. I am so proud of Tae. You can tell how the Hwarang actors liked him from their interaction in the interviews. Like RM said in Bon Voyage S2, Tae can easily befriend with people and everyone likes him.

kookmineve

I actually watched all of Hwarang this past august. It is on Netflix (at least the UK one) and the show as a whole really captivated me. If you can see it all I would really recommend watching it, even in your own time. The death scene is actually much more sad after you have watched the show since Tae's character was very sweet and almost childlike and you really get to know him as a person.

Anonymous

I cried for every dead scene in this drama.even when Kwang Soo died there, i cried a lot...

tova~

i doubt that was the reason, since he died so close to the end

Alishea Ally

I haven't watched all the episodes, I honestly didn't like the main girl's acting but Tae's acting was spot on. This scene is so sad :( Seo joon (the last guy who held tae) and some of the cast are still friends with each other, they hung out together during his vacation and their friendship is the sweetest <3 Welcome to K-drama thats another hole you guys will be going down XD personally if you like Seo Joon his drama What's Wrong with Secretary Kim is great!

KIKI

Omg yes I love bts on korean variety shows, it’s so fun.And they don’t know a lot of korean games and they haven’t seen much korean shows so I think they would enjoy that.

KIKI

Hwarang is the first and only drama I’ve watched.I really enjoyed it and like you said it’s different from American dramas. But still they did a very interesting and complex and romantic story.

KIKI

Please react to bts on the korean variety show knowing brothers or on running man. They are both very popular korean variety shows and I think you would enjoy it.You haven’t seen much korean variety shows so I think it’s a good start.Korean shows are very different from American shows.Like in korea they do a lot of replay scenes, they also animate the scenes when someone is explaining/doing something to better understand. Also korean humor is different from American humor, idk how to explain it but one of the things that are different in humor is that Americans are more sarcastic in there humor compared to korea. Also Koreans react and express a lot with there face more then Americans(idk if it makes sense but you got to see it)

You should react, either here or on YouTube, to all of their Halloween costumed dance practices. I think there are at least 4.

Anonymous

Hay Guy's, Im glad you got a little taste of Hwarang. This is how I found BTS. There are so many top actors in this series which is about 20 episodes long. I fell in love with Tae, his voice, his acting, his character so I went looking for morof his work but all I cound was BTS lol.

Anonymous

I fell into that hole and became ARMY

moonglow

Hwarang could've been so much better if they had focused on the Hwarang boys friendship instead of the romantic relationship. All of them had great chemistry and the remain good friends. In fact Park Seo Joon, the actor who played the main character that was carrying Tae, introduced him to his group of friends and they hang out pretty often. He appeared in Tae's vacation vlog.

Ada

oh dear here we go... i knew about the death before i started the drama and i still cried when it happened. update: still teared up even now....

Anonymous

I know that you guys reacted to the 'Concept Trailer' dance practice, but If you guys haven't checked out its MV ver. you should watch it. INFIRES MAAANNN 💜🔥

Anonymous

Thanks for reacting to this 💜 I cried everytime I watch Tae character dies. He’s such a good actor, Tae once said that this is one of the hardest time of his life as he feel pressured since he’s the first one in BTS to debut in acting and he wants fo prove to everyone that BTS aren’t just good as being idols. I don’t know if you remember it but he said it in the Burn the stage, he explains what he felt that it even came to the point him breaking down in the bathroom with Jimin.

nikki

He has more parts actually where he showcased his acting skills. Not everything is shown in this compilation. I looked up this one scene because I loved how good he portrayed the emotions in this scene, always gets me heartbroken for him. I hope you watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5VHOLi5anc

Hwarang is good. I've been watching K-Dramas for more than 10years now.. There's a different feel in watching Kdramas than in Western Series ones.. Both are great in it's own way but there are times I prefer Kdramas more than the western series. My mom loved Hwarang SOOOO MUCH. She binged watched it TWICE. I love historical dramas like this. It gives you a glimpse of the life of the people from our past and how they lived through those times. My suggestion is try watching episode 1 first to see if it's your cup of tea or if you enjoy the vibe of it. Or google search the plot, read it and see if you find it interesting. People have different tastes and preferences in all things, even in what we enjoy watching, so it's totally okay if you're not into it. I know there are army's who only watched it for Tae but did not really enjoyed some bits and parts of the story. Hahahahaha. So I guess give it a try first if you have extra free time and find out for yourself if you like it then go from there. :) A K-drama is usually, more or less, 1 hour per episode.. :)

Mimi

Am I the only one who can’t access the video

Sonagi (소나기 )

please do a part 2 with more scenes you just have to look for kim taehuyng hwarang scenes and it will appear, he appear in more scenes where he do much more acting.

Priske

I watched the drama. I Loved it so much. He is a great actor. But with the dead scene I cried my eyes out. Even when I went to sleep I thought about it. I was so sad for no reason. Poor Tae :)

Priske

I watched this drama but didn't finished. It's just that i don't like the romance part, i enjoyed the journey of hwarangs not just the romance that was highlighted so much in this drama. My recent favorite is romance is a bonus book. My favorite drama were Remember and My love from the star.

Anonymous

at the time i watched this in 2016, i knew V, but im not a fan of BTS yet... huhuhu

Liz

OMG. I didn't know you reacted to this. It' so saaaad.

Liz

OK. But the scene after that when he is carrying his body in the classroom and the other Hwarang see him is GUT WRENCHING. And then there is the letter that Han-sung wrote for his brother that Sun-Woo gives him later. Ugh. It's HORRIBLE.
